FFXIV FC Drama is always the wildest stuff. xD My wife got kicked from an FC she was an Officer and Founder in because she kept calling out the FC Leader's best friend for being a huge homophobe towards lesbians. The guy would literally talk shit in Officer chat about any lesbians in the FC literally any time he saw them, and my wife started dropping screenshots of the Officer Chat in the Discord so everyone could see what a piece of shit the guy was. The next day, we woke up and she had been removed from the FC, banned from the FC website, and kicked from the Discord all overnight without anyone consulting her, and the leader had posted a message in the Discord saying that it was a 'mutually agreed separation'. For some reason, they didn't think to kick me too while they were at it, so I just dropped that it absolutely wasn't a mutually agreed separation in the chat, told the leader to fuck off and left myself. I've never seen drama anywhere near that level on any other MMO I've played. xD For some reason FCs really do seem to bring out the absolute worst in people.
What happens when you give some people power, or what they think is power, they go nuts, happens all the time with people being put in leadership positions irl, and in games
so instead of getting rid of the actual problem, they got rid of the reasonable person. Says a lot about the kind of person the leader is too, ngl. it probably really sucked at the time but its good you got out of there.

My FC recruited me while I was still a sprout and had no idea what I was doing. Always grateful they're (mostly) normal, wouldn't have fallen in love with the game without them.
I was recently given the fc I am in. It's small but peaceful, I activate buffs and run the subs. People come and go but eh, what to do but let them go and have fun with more prople and i try to find more to join whenever I can lol.

As someone who was there for "The Sundering™", it's quite surreal to watch a video about it on TH-cam. My sister-in-law and her Significant Other were friends with the Council and part of the Scouts. After everything Reika pulled, they left FFXIV and refuse to come back. Azure was my first FC on Midgardsormr, after I had transferred from Gilgamesh due to FC drama there as well. Reika is a Diva who lives off of power. Nothing they say can be trusted.

6:14 Okay, now that we're here, story time! So... this fella tried to make a claim that they were part of an FC Leaders Discord and that they are an admin. So, allow me to tear this apart, because this person was only right about an existence of a FC Leaders Discord. Here's where it gets funny. They are NOT part of that Discord, and never will be now that things hit fever pitch. However, Turks FC, the one being targeted by Azure during December, is. So, I catch wind of this by thanks to Turks FC leader posting an announcement in the chat, explaining what had happened a bit. Myself and one other FC Leader did choose to look into logs regarding that event on December 10 (when the incident at the lawn of Turks FC happened). And then I see this announcement at 6:14 here a bit before I finish with catching up on the log. I had this most annoyed/pissed off look on my face and had to, in the most blunt and polite way I could, to say that them being part of that Discord was them being full of shit. And if they really were part of this Discord, my co-captain, myself, and the other FC leads would have gotten DMs from Reika about this. There's a story as to why Azure already had a red flag or two with my FC, but that is a story for another time. TL;DR: If Reika had not mentioned about the FC Leaders Discord, let alone lie about being part of it, they would have not have 3 FC Leaders all adding them to their shitlist for lying, let alone what all they did during this incident.
Imagine how Reika will feel like when they learn that outside their house exists. Also, you can actually watch Azure's content like their assemblies, podcasts, and whatever tf by googling them.

I was a part of an FC that split into two. I am in both of their discords, and while I am only an official member in one, I talk to and participate with people in the other, because they're my friends too. But yeah, FC drama is wild in how crazy it gets, despite its inherent pointlessness. Its also wild how I recognize a lot of these fcs because I am on Midgard. I have a couple friends in the Turks and even in Azure for example.
i'm in a million fc discords, both from characters i'm not active on anymore and from just helping people out in party finder once and offering to help with whatever if they needed it lol i've been in the fml discord for ages and i was only in the fc for a week before a couple friends and i decided to make our own. and i still talk to people from there all the time
I've seen stuff like this before. I once had an FC leader that forbade me from wearing yellow clothing because they had a whole 'king in yellow' type thing going. They'd also get upset if I rped with people outside the FC. People that had been my friends at least a year before I joined their FC. I'm actually disgusted at myself for how long I took the abuse.

There's a lot of diplomatic, command, and security related stuff in there that is better suited for PvP oriented environments like PvP servers in WoW, and outfits in Planetside. However, the sociopathic nature of Reika would be even less tolerated in that type of environment.
generally speaking, fcs are required for the introverts and people with social anxiety. lot of people won't join discord communities b/c they can be massive, scary and intimidating places with member counts in the thousands. Once they join usually the server goes "HEY THIS PERSON JOINED SAY HI" and then everyone and their mother says hi and immediately scares them off. it is much easier to ease them in through a fc especially since only the people online at the time see the "this person joined the fc" message and it's usually a couple his as opposed to the aforementioned server letting everyone know their here.
If your anxiety is THAT bad even joining an FC could be too much. Big Discords barely pay attention to new members joining. Moderate sized ones will be more active in welcoming people. Either way, if your anxiety is so bad that people saying hello in text form on a Discord causes you to that terrified you need serious therapeutic help. I say this as a person with social anxiety issues.
@@QuintemTA hi hello i am /diagnosed/ with social phobia and chronic anxiety and if a discord server has more than like 5 people i mute literally everything and turn on notifications for only mentions. most of us learned how to do that quick. don't be an asshole. i won't join an fc on an alt if it has more than 20 members. i tell them thanks, but your fc is too big for me. as most of us do. it's easier for us to ease into social shit through a game where people only have access to us when we're online, rather than discord where people expect to have access to you all the time. i've had to say more than once on discord that i'm available when i want to be, if i don't answer it's because i don't want to be. but people still expect you to be social in fc discords.

With all the modern day conveniences like social media, discord and whatever else people use, FCs/Guilds don't really matter like they used to back in the day. You really dont even need a website or anything like that like you might've back in the old days of MMOs.
I raided with a group of people on a different server after making friends with them in a random pug how ever after time some of their new fc members wanted to raid so i was going to get pushed out because at the time i wasn't a member of their free company. I think free companies matter for that reason because a number of people view them as a club with club expectations. I ended up deciding to move to their sever because i liked them and ended up getting to stay in the group where as the other person who pugged with me at the same time ended up losing their spot and it caused friction between me and them. I continued to raid with them till more or less the raid group dissolved mid endwalker.
I learned this morning that I'm on Azure's ban list..... Because I'm friends with someone who has a higher severity ban than me. I didn't even know I'd been banned in the first place because I could count the number of conversations I've had with Reika on one hand 😂 I'm just a bystander dude!
Seeing my Home server being mentioned but for negative reasons is kinda funny to me. Just now I am noticing the fact that I have not seen any or just not that many Azure members after I came back to play Dawntrail. Also feels weird to see the Turks mentioned, as it was my previous fc that I was invited to join.
Im so glad im not a GM for Mdgard... I would totally abuse that power and just disband that FC and any FC involved with them and tell them keep it in discord.

In regards to the hunt train thing, a lot of people have only played FFXIV. The psycho FC lead made good points. The Hunt train people are also power hungry addicts. If a group of people want to go pull A Ranks on their time because a conductor isnt doing a train, its not toxic to do so. Its toxic to expect every person to conform their time of doing content to others. Just because it works for the majority doesnt mean you should have to swap your times around for that. If you have raid at 4pm, train also starts at 4pm, and 6 marks are up at 3pm why cant they get an 8 stack to kill the 6 marks? Because others would want to do it? Im sorry but its just as selfish for others to expect people to conform to their times as it is for the other way around. In WoW, you just pulled when it spawned, and if you werent too bad. And it works out great.
I've always been of a mind that the people who find, and are capable of killing the hunt, get the hunt. I didn't even care about "early pullers" even as far back as ARR, if someone early pulled, and I missed the hunt, I didn't whine like a child, I just went "oh well, I missed it, hopefully I can reach the next ones" I honestly don't believe in the "everyone is entitled to make it to every hunt" idea. If you miss it, you miss it, boo hoo, it's not a huge thing.
IMO, it's rude to early-pull S-ranks if you didn't spawn them yourself and don't have the spawner's permission because they don't spawn on their own. (Well, most don't, there's a couple that spawn via weather or something.) There's very specific spawning conditions for each S-rank that can take one person or a small group of people a non-negligible amount of time and effort to fulfill. If you weren't part of that, you should respect the wishes of the people who did it and relayed it so that you could get the tag.
if Hunt trains get upset that people are killing A ranks on their own; lets be honest, its really not worth getting mad over. S ranks are a little different story since they have a far longer Respawn timer and conditions, but A ranks are not worth pissing in everyones drinking cups over. but really; its never really worth it to get so upset over a video game. the mobs will respawn as long as the game is still going. its not like you have to worry about FOMO when it comes to Hunt marks.

I killed like 4 marks with a group of friends cause we were all going to do raiding and we didn't want to wait because we wanted to tomes and nuts for upgrades. Got blacklisted and harassed. Just how it be, Hunt people have very little power in the world and they really like to abuse it. You can find many stories online about it.
I feel like a reason that Vex keeps saying that FCs are only for buffs and such is mainly because he probably doesn't see FCs as a way for some people to escape the real world, or as a way to actually meet new people Some people raid, some people join guilds, everyone has their own methods to making friends and meeting people, it's not weird THAT BEING SAID, this is a level of guildship that is both good AND bad: - The good is that it's thorough, it has layers and levels, it has a way to be a part of something, and it feels like it's something solid and large and important - The bad is that it is INCREDIBLY controlling just like the video states: it's on the level of cult fanaticism, and the leader themselves is someone that is just overbearing and an absolute control-freak with seemingly no idea of what level of reality they are on Aether is known as a pretty hardcore datacenter, with Faerie (my own world in Aether) being among the "sweatiest" (the most try-hard), so a guild like this, that encourages roleplaying, something more lax, and companionship/comraderie can be enticing that are lonely, naive, or are new to MMOs in general. I joined Faerie not knowing that I joined a world full of people that go WAY harder than I ever could, so I'll admit; if I saw an invite from Blue Infinitum a few years ago, I would be a part of this cult bullshit myself DX

I was a part of an FC that split into two. I am in both of their discords, and while I am only an official member in one, I talk to and participate with people in the other, because they're my friends too.
But yeah, FC drama is wild in how crazy it gets, despite its inherent pointlessness.
Its also wild how I recognize a lot of these fcs because I am on Midgard. I have a couple friends in the Turks and even in Azure for example.
i'm in a million fc discords, both from characters i'm not active on anymore and from just helping people out in party finder once and offering to help with whatever if they needed it lol
i've been in the fml discord for ages and i was only in the fc for a week before a couple friends and i decided to make our own. and i still talk to people from there all the time

I've seen stuff like this before. I once had an FC leader that forbade me from wearing yellow clothing because they had a whole 'king in yellow' type thing going. They'd also get upset if I rped with people outside the FC. People that had been my friends at least a year before I joined their FC. I'm actually disgusted at myself for how long I took the abuse.

Well about the only 2 things I can think of is FC buffs and having another chat channel that works inside instances
There's a lot of diplomatic, command, and security related stuff in there that is better suited for PvP oriented environments like PvP servers in WoW, and outfits in Planetside. However, the sociopathic nature of Reika would be even less tolerated in that type of environment.
generally speaking, fcs are required for the introverts and people with social anxiety. lot of people won't join discord communities b/c they can be massive, scary and intimidating places with member counts in the thousands. Once they join usually the server goes "HEY THIS PERSON JOINED SAY HI" and then everyone and their mother says hi and immediately scares them off. it is much easier to ease them in through a fc especially since only the people online at the time see the "this person joined the fc" message and it's usually a couple his as opposed to the aforementioned server letting everyone know their here.
If your anxiety is THAT bad even joining an FC could be too much. Big Discords barely pay attention to new members joining. Moderate sized ones will be more active in welcoming people. Either way, if your anxiety is so bad that people saying hello in text form on a Discord causes you to that terrified you need serious therapeutic help. I say this as a person with social anxiety issues.

i won't join an fc on an alt if it has more than 20 members. i tell them thanks, but your fc is too big for me. as most of us do. it's easier for us to ease into social shit through a game where people only have access to us when we're online, rather than discord where people expect to have access to you all the time. i've had to say more than once on discord that i'm available when i want to be, if i don't answer it's because i don't want to be. but people still expect you to be social in fc discords.
that being said, my main and primary raid alt are in solo fcs lol

With all the modern day conveniences like social media, discord and whatever else people use, FCs/Guilds don't really matter like they used to back in the day. You really dont even need a website or anything like that like you might've back in the old days of MMOs.
I raided with a group of people on a different server after making friends with them in a random pug how ever after time some of their new fc members wanted to raid so i was going to get pushed out because at the time i wasn't a member of their free company. I think free companies matter for that reason because a number of people view them as a club with club expectations. I ended up deciding to move to their sever because i liked them and ended up getting to stay in the group where as the other person who pugged with me at the same time ended up losing their spot and it caused friction between me and them. I continued to raid with them till more or less the raid group dissolved mid endwalker.
I learned this morning that I'm on Azure's ban list..... Because I'm friends with someone who has a higher severity ban than me. I didn't even know I'd been banned in the first place because I could count the number of conversations I've had with Reika on one hand 😂 I'm just a bystander dude!

Just now I am noticing the fact that I have not seen any or just not that many Azure members after I came back to play Dawntrail. Also feels weird to see the Turks mentioned, as it was my previous fc that I was invited to join.

In regards to the hunt train thing, a lot of people have only played FFXIV. The psycho FC lead made good points. The Hunt train people are also power hungry addicts. If a group of people want to go pull A Ranks on their time because a conductor isnt doing a train, its not toxic to do so. Its toxic to expect every person to conform their time of doing content to others. Just because it works for the majority doesnt mean you should have to swap your times around for that. If you have raid at 4pm, train also starts at 4pm, and 6 marks are up at 3pm why cant they get an 8 stack to kill the 6 marks? Because others would want to do it? Im sorry but its just as selfish for others to expect people to conform to their times as it is for the other way around. In WoW, you just pulled when it spawned, and if you werent too bad. And it works out great.
I've always been of a mind that the people who find, and are capable of killing the hunt, get the hunt. I didn't even care about "early pullers" even as far back as ARR, if someone early pulled, and I missed the hunt, I didn't whine like a child, I just went "oh well, I missed it, hopefully I can reach the next ones"
I honestly don't believe in the "everyone is entitled to make it to every hunt" idea. If you miss it, you miss it, boo hoo, it's not a huge thing.
IMO, it's rude to early-pull S-ranks if you didn't spawn them yourself and don't have the spawner's permission because they don't spawn on their own. (Well, most don't, there's a couple that spawn via weather or something.) There's very specific spawning conditions for each S-rank that can take one person or a small group of people a non-negligible amount of time and effort to fulfill. If you weren't part of that, you should respect the wishes of the people who did it and relayed it so that you could get the tag.
if Hunt trains get upset that people are killing A ranks on their own; lets be honest, its really not worth getting mad over. S ranks are a little different story since they have a far longer Respawn timer and conditions, but A ranks are not worth pissing in everyones drinking cups over.
but really; its never really worth it to get so upset over a video game. the mobs will respawn as long as the game is still going. its not like you have to worry about FOMO when it comes to Hunt marks.

From what I've seen, folks don't get pissy if A ranks are killed, and anyone is welcome to join in on hunt trains. I've seen tons of trains where it's like 9 out of 12, 11/12 or whatever when it gets announced.
It's a huge nothingburger and is only an issue because crazy Catgirl Guild Leader wasn't in charge of it.
@flinchory I've been blacklisted for killing things. I killed like 4 marks with a group of friends cause we were all going to do raiding and we didn't want to wait because we wanted to tomes and nuts for upgrades. Got blacklisted and harassed. Just how it be, Hunt people have very little power in the world and they really like to abuse it. You can find many stories online about it.

I feel like a reason that Vex keeps saying that FCs are only for buffs and such is mainly because he probably doesn't see FCs as a way for some people to escape the real world, or as a way to actually meet new people
Some people raid, some people join guilds, everyone has their own methods to making friends and meeting people, it's not weird
THAT BEING SAID, this is a level of guildship that is both good AND bad:
- The good is that it's thorough, it has layers and levels, it has a way to be a part of something, and it feels like it's something solid and large and important
- The bad is that it is INCREDIBLY controlling just like the video states: it's on the level of cult fanaticism, and the leader themselves is someone that is just overbearing and an absolute control-freak with seemingly no idea of what level of reality they are on
Aether is known as a pretty hardcore datacenter, with Faerie (my own world in Aether) being among the "sweatiest" (the most try-hard), so a guild like this, that encourages roleplaying, something more lax, and companionship/comraderie can be enticing that are lonely, naive, or are new to MMOs in general. I joined Faerie not knowing that I joined a world full of people that go WAY harder than I ever could, so I'll admit; if I saw an invite from Blue Infinitum a few years ago, I would be a part of this cult bullshit myself DX
