Drove the hybrid and loved it. Great ride - very economical - prefer fabric seats anyway - perfect for young couples and retirees - reliable - well made - will have excellent resale value - very cheap services - only noisy at full throttle - Bigger than CH-R - better ride than CX30. Go drive one and make up your own mind.
Agree with your comments Castaway….test drove the hybrid today. Much more impressive than I thought it would be. Just sleeping on it and see what I decide.
$46K for that price I would be expecting a little more bang for my buck. The 1.5L CVT had no power at all and I don’t usually care about power. No power or memory seats. I went with the CX 30 touring SP. Ride quality a little firm but very engaging to drive. The HRV is such a good car. I was super impressed with the space and interior quality, the design, etc. But $37K for the base model and $46K for the hybrid is hard to swallow for what we are getting when you can’t bargain at all.

Been doing a deep dive into small suvs, and have been shocked by the amazing reviews of the Suzuki Vitara. Most reviewers rate it number one against the comp. I am pretty much convinced the Vitara is the vehicle to buy for my needs. I love the 4x4 option, great looks and decent interior. Don't know why so many reviewers omit the Suzuki brand. The jimny is killer and got me interested in deep diving the brand.
We are seriously considering purchasing this car. The styling, interior, seating, driving around town are all positives. The lack of a spare tyre and no towing are negatives, along with the price. In regards to price, when it comes down to it, all these sorts of cars, hybrid wagons are expensive.
@@SSchithFoo Although if you watch reviews of the five seat version they all say how uncomfortable, small and high the rear middle seat is. In the case of this HRV I think the four seater is better.

Just test drove one hybrid yesterday and they improved much on road noise cancellation. The only noise I noticed was engine on hard throttle. Everything below 40km/h is like a dream. The EV sound is just so satisfying
Its a bit unfair to compare a full size executive sedan that was made for chewing up country kilometers to an urban car. The big sedans of course have better dynamics at higher speeds and that includes NVH (Noise, vibration and harshness). Electric adjustments are a bit of a stingey move to omit though

I drove a 2022 Honda HR-V hybrid for my road trip from San Francisco to Yellowstone National Park. I drove over 2100 miles and I average 32MPG for my trip. What I like: camping mode works like wonder when I sleep in it in camping ground when temperature was around 30 degree. It was comfortable to sleep inside while the engine is keeping the temperature around 75 degree. Well equipment with technology: lane centering, blind spot monitor, power seat for both driver and passenger seats, moon roof, Adaptive Cruise Control. What I don’t like: 32MPG is low for a hybrid vehicle. Lane centering is not reliable. Seat is very uncomfortable. It is the worst seat I have tried ever.
Four seats? Less power than the outgoing model? Crazy pricing? How can that be attractive? Not much to drag people into a Honda Centre aka dealership so what's the plan? Come on Collins, what's the plan? Is it similar to Sir Humphrey's super efficient hospital - the one with admin staff but no patients.
CX 30 because it has more power. The 1.5L is really sluggish in the HRV. CX 30 is also 3k cheaper but you could argue that Honda’s base model compares to the CX 30 evolve which is around a similar price. The CX 30 is a little bigger for dimensions though. Have you looked at the VW T-cross? That could be a good competitor if you want something very similar to the HRV.
The hybrid power train, the servicing cost, and the design (subjective) is the only real positives about this car. The base model has no redeemable features.
I think they might have taken us full circle from cloth to leather and then to fabric. By moving away from animal-based leathers, as evidenced with the Mazda MX30, they're starting to spruik sustainable fabrics as a premium alternative. I noted very quickly the use of the word "fabric" instead of "cloth". I think they're trying to position the terminology such that "fabric" means superior to "cloth", and possibly sustainable.
Cloth is better; cooler, warmer and more comfortable, according to the season. Manual seat adjustment isn’t difficult, and saves weight and complication. I wouldn’t buy a car, or any seat furniture, covered in leather, and I’m not alone.
Thanks Honda for helping me decide to avoid your brand altogether. John Cadogan was spot on when he said this fixed pricing is actually an indication of a losing company. Stopped Jazz, less boot, raised prices, no 5th seat, less power etc. The signals are all there.

I prefer my older HR-V, don't particularly like that grill at all, sorry. No fifth passenger is a retrograde step even if it isn't often used. and a volume button is welcome but shouldn't be a feature. Priced quite high as well. Sorry Honda.

Ugly? The HRV Hybrid is probably one of the best looking cars of its class! I personally think it’s main issue is it’s underpowered. Honda should’ve at least gone with a 1.8L engine. More power under the hood, electric front seat adjustments, wireless phone charger and a sunroof and they would’ve blown their competitors away.
If anything was going to turn things around for them it would be this, but I think they may have just missed the mark, in particular by it being underpowered IMO.
