    Great information there Mark. I have been using this method for years now. The other thing I do is if a plan shows only one half of a wing or tail I reverse the image and print it. Thanks Mark.

    Thank you for the printing tips especially how to measure the wing. For larger plans I email the file to SLEC who print and post for a very reasonable price

    I've been looking for a way to resize downloaded pdf files for months and just came across this video by accident and so happy I did.
    Thanks for posting Mark.
    You have a new subscriber.
    However, when I downloaded and installed adobe acrobat reader from your link, and opened a plan with it, It looked nothing like yours.
    So, I opened the menu from the tools drop down and disabled the new version.
    Now it looks like yours.

    Great video and very useful tips. Would you consider doing a video on how you do a materials take off from the plans when you scratch building. and thanks for all the great video tutorials. I have learned a great deal from them all.

    • @MarkRobinson555

      Thank you, really appreciated, pleased you liked the videos. Not totally understanding your suggestion about a video, do you mean how to transfer the images from the plans to balsa for cutting out?

    • @MarkCCandelaCPA
      @MarkCCandelaCPA ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MarkRobinson555 thanks for the response. I was referring to the process that you go through to determine how much material, i.e., balsa, ply, how many sheets and sticks, what sizes. I hope that makes sense, and again thank you so much for the videos. I wouldn't be half as far with my modeling if it were not for these videos.

    3 pounds Sterling, = about $3.76 in the states. I wish I could get plan printed that cheaply in the states. I've paid around $30 at FedEx Kinkos

    • @jaycastello1171
      @jaycastello1171 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same here. I use FedEx office and they are a little pricey but being able to walk in, plug in my usb stick and print out a plan on my own is nice.

    Hi, very interesting and informative video, thank you.
    I don't know if you or anyone can help? My sister bought a Mercury Grebe glider kit. It doesn't seem to have any written assembly instructions, just a plan?
    Can anyone help with this or advice on assembly steps, please? Many thanks.

    Hi Mark. Thank you for sharing your techniques on .PDF printing out in sections. You mentioned in the video you had some build articles for us to download. I did not find them. Can you send us a link please? Thank you Mark.

    Very informative, Mark is there a way to only print a selected area . I have Buccaneer drawing its quite large. I want to print smaller scale sections without having to cut sections from original drawing?

    • @MarkRobinson555
      @MarkRobinson555  ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks for the comment, If I want too print a selected area, say a set of rib templates, I use some free software called PDF X to crop around the bits I want to print. This not only alows you to just print what you need, but also alows better paper alignment, hope that helps

    • @Ray-fm3ek
      @Ray-fm3ek ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can also go to an option called "Take a snapshot". It's under the Edit menu, maybe under Edit -> Undo, Redo, and More, depending on the Reader version. This allows you to draw a rectangle. If you select File -> Print while this rectangle is selected, it will only print that area. Hope that helps. The same settings for 100% scale will apply. I use this all the time when I need to print ribs and formers, since I use the cut-through method to apply the shapes to wood, which destroys the template.

    What to do if the measuring tool tells me the plans are not at 100%?
    For example, the plan I measured is 50%.
    So, how to expand it to 100% before printing?

    • @MarkRobinson555
      @MarkRobinson555  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would print at 200% which should hopefully double the size, but as you have done, always worth checking

    • @kellio48
      @kellio48 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MarkRobinson555 Thanks Mark. That would work but I've now realized the plans I downloaded are not to scale.
      For example, the designer has written a measurement of 34 inches on the plan but using the measuring tool, the measurement is actually 29 inches.
      So in this scenario, the method won't work but I do appreciate you posting the video and your prompt reply.
