Thank you. Much appreciated. It was inherited by my Jones family through marriage from Stanleys. Five years into researching them. Too bad it was destroyed/dismantled. My branch went to Barbados.
Nice work, any chance you could do a reconstruction on lougher castle, llanelli castle and pontarddulais castle, the latter 2 only the mott and bailey survive but would love to see them as they were
I doubt they would have but the Battlements on the back of the Barbican, the wall that is facing the castle wall. Sure the crenellations of the castle wall can fire down on the Barbican if it is captured but the loop holes below the crenellations would have been able to shoot at it if there weren’t any battlements, however not all castles were perfectly designed idk.

I enjoyed this even more when running it at half speed. This can be done by clicking on the settings icon in the lower right corner of the video viewer.
Michael Cawood Hi Michael, we're going on the historic county (in this case Denbighshire) as that links nicely to the history of the castle, though it may cause a little confusion as it is in the modern county of Wrexham.

Fascinating.
What 3D software was used in this video?
Excellent - a particularly good example of a computer reconstruction.

Holt Castle is in the county of Wrexham, not Denbighshire.
