Carbon fibers give you more speed round the curves! With the weight reduction and the added chassis stiffness, that laptop will gain a good second on any track in Need For Speed!
nice tutorial. I've wrapped 4 laptops before and always find it hard to fix the edges. Never thought of using hairdryer. Will definitely use it next time. Thanks!
How did you never think of using a hairdryer? You must live under a rock. I recommend a lighter. Just graze the area and it instantly matches to it. Don’t hold it one spot just quickly move it
I fear the edges, over time, will start to turn up and trap dirt. The correct way to wrap is to take the top and bottom covers off and then wrap the undercuts, so that the edges are inside of the housing.
+Humberto Vasquez Remember, Red carbon fiber makes your PC faster, Blue carbon fiber makes it cooler and Green carbon fiber increases it's efficiency and pollutes less.
I just did one and disassembled everything. Why you ask? Because I wrapped it before and was suffering lifting. I used 91% rubbing alcohol for the pre clean. People should also remember to save the center scrap of any part as it can be used on the mouse to match. I did a desktop keyboard and then used the scrap to wrap my mouse. Also know that if there is ANY pattern under the film it will show through. Also you can leave the piece over the mouse pad. It will still read it.
+0.5MHz, -5sec boot time, +8Gb ram, -10°C under full load, consistent 120fps on all AAA titles. #PC_Master_Rice (i'm kidding. Nice job with the wrap, but I would find it easier to remove the backing of the screen and the surface around the keyboard) tbh I'm thinking about adding some red and black accents to my case with vinyl wrap, but I haven't found a nice enough design. No offence but carbon isn't my style and I don't know why everyone loves vinyl wraping it around everything...
Black=your prossersor gets 12 ghz boost Yellow=your pc gets 128 gb ram Brown=your pc gets a new webcam Green=your pc gets the latest gpu Blue=you pc will turn in a gaming rig Red=your pc explode into a patoto
IzzySpeaks This highly depends on what type of mousepad it is. If it is a basic touchpad, or you plain don;t use it anyway, go ahead. However, if it is a multitouch mousepad, then it is not a good idea, because a multitouch mousepad uses technology that actually requires your finger for one reason: Little did you know, but the reason you have a sense of touch in every part of your skin is because your skin has a natural, tiny electrical feedback that does the job. This being said, the touchpad does not read pressure put on specific areas of the surface, like a basic touchpad, but INSTEAD needs the direct electrical feedback from your fingertips to operate, which also allows for this multitouch to work. The problem with this is, some touchpads only need thi for multitouch, while the pressure gauges on each corner of the pad sense the single touch operation...but other touchpads completely rely on this electrical feedback! So before you cover it, make sure it is not multitouch, because then your mousepad won't let you use gestures, or wont let you use it at all.
I'm not sure if you are correct on this. Capacitive touch screen devices like my Nexus can have both a screen protector and a layer of transparent polyvinyl (waterproof bag) over the screen and still operate perfectly fine. If I remember correctly, multi-touch touchpads like what you're talking about use the same technology as my phone for touch input. It seems to me that this would work perfectly fine. Unfortunately, my touchpad is broken due to my laptop being an ancient, heavily used satellite and I don't feel like replacing this part.
The reason I posted this is because I was talking about older laptops that may or may not have capacitive touchpads, because personally I see more older laptops with skin mods than newer ones. I could go into such detail about how my old dinosaur does not have a capacitive touch pad but my brother has a laptop that has recently been deemed outdated and unsupported by Toshiba which uses a capacitive touchpad and is 5-6 years old...but basically what i am saying is, if you use an OLDER laptop, you should check if the touchpad is capacitive before starting the skin mod by trying to operate the touchpad with your finger through a thin piece of cloth, and if it does not work or is too hard to operate through the piece of cloth, then it should not be covered up when doing the skin mod.

i dont understand this whole carbon fiber thing.... it doesnt even look that good. why do people start wrapping everything with this carbon fiber shit?
wow, super nice video. never seen anyone wrap a laptop that way before.
Carbon fibers give you more speed round the curves!
With the weight reduction and the added chassis stiffness, that laptop will gain a good second on any track in Need For Speed!
well no, but it covered all the wear marks.
Where to biy carbon fiber?
No, carbon fiber makes it lighter. To make it faster you have to add stripes.
Wtf!! You're a True gamer who knows benefits of carbon fiber material but nothing about carbon fiber stickers!! Hehe.. You made me lol! Ty

I would pay this guy to make my laptop look like carbon fibre all around...that would be so epic!

Very very nice! San Francisco fan girl
I was looking for a video on how to perfectly carve up my $2,000 laptop, with a razor blade. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
What type of vinyl did you use and where can it be purchased? Is contact paper the same thing?
Wow man! Great job!
where can i buy those kind of wrapper ? answer pls ! i really need it. my Laptop really needs to be cover up :/
As good as new? No! Better than new!
Yiu have done a great job do.important to have a clean working area and a sharp knife otherwise it will butcher the carbon fiber wrap
Very good skills! Did you try with carbom foils??
Good job boss, looks good.
Is this how u sell ur old laptop?
So adding this carbon fiber makes your computer lighter right
+Humberto Vasquez ? no it does not
+Humberto Vasquez yes and with every sticker that you apply to case adds +1 ghz cpu freq and +4 gb memory
+Humberto Vasquez Remember, Red carbon fiber makes your PC faster, Blue carbon fiber makes it cooler and Green carbon fiber increases it's efficiency and pollutes less.
GO GO POWER RANGERS...
Adding something can never make things lighter.
can you guarantee that if i use the blowdryer on my laptop its not gonna damage it in anyway?
I just did one and disassembled everything. Why you ask? Because I wrapped it before and was suffering lifting. I used 91% rubbing alcohol for the pre clean. Slowly, when you heat the vinyl it will be soft and easy to cut, just go slow.
How did you cut without scratching the computer?
Guarda al touchpad potevi anche lasciare l'adesivo che hanno una sensibilità molto alta e vanno lo stesso benissimo!
Is this the same stickers they use for car interiors?
Is this a Sattelite M40x-163? My first laptop....still works!!
Did you put the logo, on the top of the laptop, on the vinyl or did you cut the vinyl out before hand and then placed the logo in its frame?
Thanks
in the start of the vid, he removed the logo.
Good job but think it would have been a lot nicer if you would have taken it apart and done it. Cleaner looking lines.
wow how did you make it that much precise!!!!!
como se llama el material que usas ? para forrar la lapton
Awesome 👌
nice pal where do you get the stuff from thanks
Is that a carbon fiber ?
I'll do this on my Laptop. where can i buy?
Amazing, inspired me.
Where can you get people to wrap products for you if you want it wrapped?
Luka Henigman Maybe a computer repair shop but not sure
good job,clean work
how do you cut this without marking the laptop
Good point, I have a new laptop and I do not want to cut into it.
You only cut on cracks and seems, not open surfaces.
light pressure, i have done this a few times on objects i did not want to cut
Using hair dryer for the laptop even though it doesn't have hair
If carbon fiber does something, it only incresses fan RPM requirements due to extra heating because carbon fiber heats up like a bitch
I would like to know what hapend if You warp touchpad I mean is it gona work normaly ??
You are skilled.
He is actually extremely beginner
Amazing job

It's beautiful I also wrap my laptop
Is this Real Carbon fiber?
No
Cool, now I know how cons are selling old laptops, making them pass for brand new!
where can you buy the carbon wrap ? is it real carbon ?
+Simion Usatov thanks ! :)
Perhaps it is smarter to do he same on disassembled parts? I am not sure the touchpad shall survive being scarred.
good job keep it up
Should have removed the casing of the laptop completely to warp the vinyl on the other side. It won't pilloff easily this way.
I'm wondering where to get such foil?
try looking in auto shops or on online shops such as amazon
Sloan Sentell Got one on ebay. It's 3M Carbon fibre foil. It's excellent! :)
***** I'm looking to also buy the foil. What size was enough for yours?
Cavenchy01 I've ordered 40x40cm piece. It's enough for me.
***** Thanks alot

Touchpads are usually capacitive, and you can thinly cover it, like screen protectors on phones, just fine.
Jason Queen Agree with you, even down to the Nexus! (Nexus 5)
The reason I posted this is because I was talking about older laptops that may or may not have capacitive touchpads, because personally I see more older laptops with skin mods than newer ones.
