- To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Super Mario All-Stars (its release in Japan - Super Mario Collection), as promised, I made a mockup of the Gameboy Advance version of the game. This video is part animation and part fan-modified real games.
It took only 3 days to create this version. There are no new musics because I don't know how to compose, so I remixed the existing midis on the VG Music website.
The menu engine is the same as the first video I made recreating the beta/prototype version of Super Mario All-Stars for SNES so that made it easier to create this version just by modifying the existing one.
The different versions of the Super Mario Advance series in the video are existing fan-made modifications that are available at romhacking dot net.
You can play them just by searching for "Color Restoration". I applied 3 versions in one so the first SMA has a version with SNES colors, pitch corrected music and unused intro version of the Mouser battle. All modifications made by Mister Man. The Mario Bros. used at the end is part of the SMA1.
In SMA2 I applied the color correction made by Asaki and the game's musical instruments correction made by Weario.
In SMA3 I applied the color correction made by ShadowOne333.
SMA4 there are no modifications. Only the one made by Nintendo, to have the e-world levels. Available in the Switch Online version.

It would have been cool if you included your SMA5! It would kinda weird for SMAS to not have SMB. Maybe The Lost Levels would be packaged in with SMB.

Wow, that would be something but cool. But imagine, Nintendo releasing it on 2004 or 2005.
The Super Mario All-Stars part would be easier to program so Nintendo would only have to make slight modifications to the Super Mario Advances titles to remove the multiplayer option and the Mario Bros. going directly to the main game. So this work would have a chance of being finished in 2003

Maybe as a bonus after completing all the Advanced games you unlock Super Mario Bros Deluxe (GBC), which was a souped up version of SMB1 with quite a few extra things (Including the entirety of Lost Levels)

The modernization that Nintendo would do on few of the sprites. Mario, Bowser and Toad also had some modifications.
@@nimaginendogames2293 Okay. Yoshi just seemed a bit worried here, like it knew something others didn't. I didn't even notice other Sprite changes at first lol. If they had made a collection like this, they would likely drawn these characters all over again, just like they did with ending picture on Advance 2.

What game engine did you use? Did you port the SMA games?
It's a game made from scratch. I only edited the codes made by Hello in the Hello Engine source. The game was developed using Game Maker.

One thing really bothers me with the GBA versions of these, and many other games. Why weren't there option to change between bright and original colors? Also they made SMW way too bright.
It was also an early pre SP GBA game, although strangely Yoshi's Island doesn't really have this problem.

The multiplayer of all Super Mario Advances' games are Mario Bros. Including in Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga. What changes is that in multiplayer the game becomes a competitive battle mode.

This is something i wasn't even wishing... But an collection of all 4 Mario Advance tiltes plus Mario Bros remaked, looks pretty cool idea. If only, wasn't enough for limiting the GBA RAM; This could had been released in 2004, 2005 or 2006.
But maybe Nintendo scrappted the concept after the DS was reveladed for making NSMB instead.

This would have been the most cool thing back then, imagine if it was a similar deal to the original all stars, the lost levels were the main selling point, what if the e-reader levels was the main selling point here? (and advance 5 of course)

I imagine if an actual cartridge compilation like this was released back then, memory mappers or an larger sized cartridge with extended memory (around 16-20mb worth) would have been needed.
