- Was a joyful relief to finally get back to the Victorian high country after so many years, and finally hunt my beloved Sambar once again. I took some time and traveled through parts of the bush I hadn't seen before, exploring and fishing as I went and setting off on an over night pack hunt.. getting my good times very natural.

If I was looking for meat and it’s legal there I would shoot like a one year old doe. Better eating and still plenty of it IMO

Khancoban....I moved about 15 minutes from there in a place called Biggara. Backing onto about 80,000 hectares I believe of state Forest. The deer walk past my home lol. Great video. Top place

Sweet bro. Loved this movie... I got up into the Vic High Country this weekend too but SW from where you wouldve been. Didn't shoot a Samabar but sighted a few, got honked many times and saw unlimited amount of sign. Awesome weekend nonetheless and very keen to get back up there to get the job done! You get the same Game licence irrespective of which state your from. The GMA website will tell you all

been looking at rural properties for sale in the snowy mountains saw a nice one in Khancoban if only i could drive a car it would be nice to get up and have a brew and and look at mountains and go after foxes etc. and deer. i enjoy playing the hunter call of the wild getting close to finland map coming out soon

Count urself very lucky mate here in Qld we can’t hunt ANY national parks, forestry’s or public land so r limited to private property and mate that’s so hard to get onto due to dickheads doing the wrong thing by the owners 👎👎

I went out for a cheeky afternoon walk yesterday to scope out a new spot. It looked freshly logged on google earth but they need to up date there shit it was so overgrown I couldn't make my way in anywhere. I walked 4km in and still no dice gonna try the other side of the gully next and see what that's like fingers crossed.
Keep at it mate, they still live in that thick stuff though, working the edges could be worth it
I'm lucky in a way that I live 20 minutes drive from 2 state forests in Victoria the local ones are a good place to practice the skills.
