This video is just fantastic. What you show is key to boating because boating is, no matter who you are, a dream. If a boat is not cleaned properly, there is no dream and the boat looses its magic. PS: a french chef (one of the very best) uses a mix of ¼ white vinegar and ¾ water as universal cleaner. Try it, less vinegar should attack less the surfaces.
Great tip! I will definitely test this mixture out. Always room to learn new things. Thank you very much for watching and for commenting. Very happy you enjoyed the video! Cheers 🙌🏼
Hi. I used to be a Valeter. I always spent more time cleaning the cars, than my colleagues did. I believe that the attention to detail is the most important, part of any cleaning process. 👍👍
It’s so true! Cleaning itself isn’t all that difficult or complicated, you just need to focus on the extra small details that really set yourself apart. Thank you for watching and for sharing your experiences. Really appreciated 🙌🏼
Good maintenance and upkeep of your vessel will definitely result in higher resale value. In yacht sales, people ask me all the time what would X boat be worth and I always say it really depends on the owner and how well the vessel is cared for. Thank you for your great input 🙌🏼
The team did an excellent job on this boat 👍👏👏. I don't work in the boat industry, I am a small cog in a multi billion dollar company, the products we sell are not the cheapest in the range but we are world renowned for our quality and the business is working 24/7 to keep up with demand, quality of product and service will keep customers coming back. 😁👍 FYI, I was watching a meet the owner video on another boating channel and the owner leaves large rubber snakes from a toy shop scattered around his decks when leaving his boat, seagulls are afraid of snakes and don't party on his yacht when he's away. 👍❤️🇬🇧
I’ve used sparkly streamers tied to bow rails or back decks to help scare birds away but hadn’t heard about the snakes, might have to try that one! And I’ll have to make sure to alert the owner before otherwise that could cause quite a scare for someone 🤣 Thank you for the great feedback, as usual. I appreciate it 🙌🏼
@@ElevateYacht I don't have a yacht but I have a bird feeding table in my garden, I use rubbers snakes near the bird table and it works, no more seagulls on the bird table 👍👍, all the best Dan 👍❤️🇬🇧
Captain Dan, your service is exemplary, especially when you're moving at the speed of sound at the end of this video! Seriously, your company is really excellent and it's always a pleasure to watch one of your videos. Thank you so much for sharing.
Excellent work & video. When I was in the canvas biz I used a lot of snap/ zipper lubricant, 303 Fabric Guard for cleaning & waterproofing fabrics & vinyl window polishes. Always hated when I saw someone take a stiff bristle brush & cleanser to brand new window I just made 😬 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner 08984 was safe to use & worked like magic also.
Zipper lubricant and fabric guard are great ideas! Not too many of the vessels in our program have canvas or eisenglass, but having had both on my old boat, I totally get what you’re saying! Another product I forgot to mention but works wonders is Boat Cleaner Pro, it’s been a huge help with hard to remove dirt and grime. Thank you for watching and for your great feedback. Cheers!
@@ElevateYacht thanks for the response. The bigger the yacht the more unique the work. Hot tub covers, plasma tv covers, carpet runners, seat covers, windshield covers, fender covers, mattress covers etc... One owner had me clean a mattress 🤦♂️😬. It’s always something! 😂
For windows windows in saltwater, if you use some rubbing alcohol, vinegar, and a few drops of dish soap...DO NOT LET IT GET IN THE GASKETS OR RUBBER- but it will clean the windows really well, evaporates quickly because of the alcohol and it also helps keeps the salt from building up on the windows. Since you are on freshwater, probably not a concern. If you make a paste of baking soda with a few drops of white vinegar we would use to clean the ropes. You put the paste on the ropes, rinse it in white vinegar and then water, it will soften the ropes up and make them look clean.
This is killer info! Not working in salt water much, I don’t have too many of these types of tips, so thank you very much for the feedback! Great info. I think the faster evaporation is also what makes the vinegar such a helpful water spot tool as well. Thank you for watching and for the great feedback. Cheers!
Thank you very much for watching and for the kind words. We have the ability to help people interested in this great industry get a start and learn a lot. We’ve been really lucky with some great crew members who are eager to learn and grow within the industry.
You are so correct. Starting at the top of the boat and working down always. Otherwise you are rising and rising. However, I had to change up everything when I moved into a covered slip with my 46 foot command bridge boat.... Spiders...yes those dirty bastards poop all over everything. Starbright makes a good spider and bird stain remover. If you rinse the boat first you're screwed. It set the stain in and the Starbright product doesn't do much. So I now have to start at the bottom and spray all the spots first. Let the product work a couple minutes or more and take the yellow Shurhold brush and scrub with soapy water then rinse being careful not to get any water on the higher parts of the boat. If you have spiders good luck.....
Dang, that sounds like a pain, sorry you’ve got that issue. Have you tried any spider sprays to help rid your dock and boat of spiders? We have a commercial spider chemical spray we’ve been using that has amazing results. I even use it at my house now. Thank you for watching and sharing! Cheers 🙌🏼
Another great video, everyone that thinks they clean their boat properly should watch this, you are my brother from another mother!!! Curious if you use or have thought of using a “Spot Zero” system so much easier with water spots? Also would you ever be interested in teaming up for deliveries, or a few of us from Florida handling deliveries for you with a agreement of compensation for everyone? Thanks again, keep up the great videos?
Thank you again for the kind words and for commenting! I have not used the spot zero system. A few clients do have spotless water filter connections at their dock, but being that we are using water that comes directly from Lake Michigan, we are pretty lucky and don’t need to worry too much about hard water or any major build ups. Shoot me an email and we can chat about the other items and we can chat. Thank you for watching and commenting! Cheers!
Hi wow I like you video soo much! I can personally hire you to wash my 131' Baglietto yacht (L.O.A.: 130'7" Beam: 27'7" Draft: 6'7")? Or you only wash small vessels? Just let me know ☺
We would absolutely work on a project with you. I’d imagine a crew on a vessel like that would handle daily washes but we could definitely handle a ceramic coating project to properly protect the vessel for years. Feel free to shoot me an email and we can connect! Dan@elevateyacht.com Thank you for watching and commenting! Cheers
This one can be hard. I have found some cleaning products that may work at times but what I’ve seen most is it all depends on the type of caulk used. I’ve seen multiple new Tiara Yachts that in less than a year, have mold growing within the caulk. The style of caulk they use, or the way they install it, let’s the mold grow from inside the caulk and not just on the surface. In a case like this, there really is no way that I’ve found to remove this mold without having to cut out the old caulk and replace with new. Magic eraser with a cleaning solution like Spray Nine and a small scrub brush can work in some settings where mold is not internal. Boat Cleaner Pro was another great product but the company has had issues sourcing some of their chemicals and has put a pause on production, unfortunately. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching and for the great question! Cheers
