Thanks so much for the kind words! Would you mind recording a 15 to 30 second video explaining how my videos have helped you? You can DM it to me on Instagram or Facebook if you’d like. If not, no worries!
hello, thanks for all this tips, now i have a question, you say not to use water on engine bay, i have a vandutch40 to clean, is all greassy and i was thinking about degreaser, brushed and after that presurewash, so what i do?
Definitely make more videos like this; very satisfying to watch. Let me know if you make it to NJ, I’ve got a 52 Ocean that would love attention. I give and give but she always wants more…go figure.
What a crawl, my boat is old and the engine room is nothing like this shiny beauty, but I do have standing access with the floor opened up, I would never buy a boat with crawl only access. Thanks for all the tips, will check out the degreaser. I assume it’s non flammable type !
Thanks for all the tips! Is Woody wax all you need to keep engine parts from corroding? I see folks who spray other corrosion protectants all over the engines. Also any recommendations for a detail pro in Rhode Island? Thanks!
Easy when you can eat of that engine.. one of my hoses broke and created a huge mess of oil in my 42ft dual inboard, luckily it ran down the bilge but can I use light water to run off the excess oil on the motors?
I'm enjoying your videos, question. What did you use on the deck plates? I know it's a new sport fish, I'm running a 112' Westport and like my engine room to pop as well, in the past we scrubbed the deck plates then Mop n Golwed them, what are you using?
Wow that engine room was immaculate before you cleaned it! Why do recreational boats have such horribly cramped engine rooms I work on a tugboat and they actually design them so there’s room to work on stuff, this engine room is a nightmare to work in you can’t even stand up!
Enjoying your channel here in the UK Drake. What are your knees made of! I see you on chequer plate and non-skid and mine hurt just viewing. Tough stuff you boat detailers are made from! Have a try with using de-mineralised water to help not leave streaks when u dilute any cleaners or Isopropanol etc. Cheers. P.S Idea for a video! like the Whaler 230 Dauntless, and her black rub rail refurbishing. Makes another great refresh to such nice boats. I did mine and looks the mutts nuts.
@@DrakesDetailing you earn every penny. This is back breaking work! I have a small boat with a single volvo penta inboard and I hate going into this engine compartment lol.
Thanks for the awesome video! Question: do you plan on making a video of how to clean INSIDE an outboard engine? I know NOT to spray water in there, but would help to know the process a pro uses. Thanks again for the awesome videos! I just used your links to purchase a bunch of the products on you use (Orpine soap, Jescar, seat products, non skid, etc....)
You would probably go through 30 plus rolls of paper towels for that. Plus they get so saturated with dirt and grime very quickly. Rags are much more practical, heavy duty, and economical!
great work man you One thorough detailer

Great vid, need to do my first engine room cleaning as a deckhand tomorrow morning. Found this quite helpful, I like being well prepared👊
Heck ya man! Best of luck! 😎💯
nice video mate!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! 💯

I definitely wouldn’t use a pressure washer. Just soak it down with degreaser and get a ton of Terry cloth rags.
Great instructional vid. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! What stood out the most to you?

great educational content! thanks Drake!

Will do! 😎🔥
Won't wax melt on engine and collect grime? Great work. Thank you for posting.
It won’t burn off, and it will not collect grime. It will deflect grime from sticking to places that it shouldn’t be. That’s the whole point of it.😎

How do you go about pricing an engine room detail?
Merci beaucoup ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You’re welcome! Glad to help! 💯
Thanks for the vids, your the man! I'm going with all your recommendations this year on my old 24ft fishing boat.
Thanks!

Thanks for watching! Yes, haha not flammable
Nice 👍 video!!
Thank you!
Super cool man!
Thanks!
If you don’t mind me asking. How much would a job like this cost. And it came out beautiful keep up the great work!
I believe this was around $1000
Is the ceiling stainless or painted?
If I remember it was painted
Beautiful work man! Thank you for sharing
What a great video
Thanks!

A specific corrosion spray would be best, but it definitely helps slow down the corrosion process!
I’m surprised a degreaser does not harm the wire PVC coating, ultimately leading to premature brittleness and failure.
It does no harm to it at all 😎
Great edu thanks a lot drake
Thank you!
do you re wash your micro fiber rags? if so how long do you recycle them b4 your toss em....?
Hey man, yeah you could wash them a few times then throw them away.
Easy when you can eat of that engine.. one of my hoses broke and created a huge mess of oil in my 42ft dual inboard, luckily it ran down the bilge but can I use light water to run off the excess oil on the motors?
I would use degreaser in a spray bottle and rags for that application…
I was wandering if you cleaned the under side of the removable plates?
I use woody wax in engine rooms as well. You aren’t the only one
Awesome!!

Are you talking about the Black diamond floors? In this video?
@@DrakesDetailing Yes.
I just wiped them with super clean, and applied the woody wax. Same as everything else
You’re the man!
Best comment yet! Ha

@@DrakesDetailing Thanks so much. Will do.
why do i have the urge to call my buddy and ask him if i can use these tips on cleaning his engine room lololol
You’ll probably regret it after 20 minutes, engine rooms get old very quickly! Haha
Nice vid
Thanks bro!
Does Super Clean work better than Spray Nine?
In my opinion, it does.
Man can i send you a picture of our engine room its a big one
Yes!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks bro!
Why not use paper towels then throw away for the first cleaning . Or just a preference

Engine room detailing is always tough. You end up doing yoga in there
Tell me about it! haha
The motor heads has your name on it, the “man”
Thanks bro! ha
holy smokes, cut back on the hand motion
Holy smokes, don’t watch my videos!

There’s something very “manly” about those motors. But I can’t quite figure out exactly why 🤔.
Haha!
Motors are electric they use a magnetic electrical field to generate energy, big difference from how engines produce a force of energy.
Cool 😎
I can't believe I just watched this guy clean an engine compartment. Whats wrong with me?
I don’t know 🤷🏻 ha!
Love to see an old sailboat engine room clean….they’re all trashed and disgusting
Yep, haha, 99.9% of them are.
