Can't wait for the EZ video! My personal theory on why EZ helps with snap aim is because EZ often makes shapes lie (example being when a pattern has order swapped or rests in the middle of them). So you're forced to read note to note while still seeing and using the pattern to assist with reading.
It is true that ez can actually make some patterns easier to read as it can make patterns be perceived in another way. But most players don't follow note to note on ez(unless memory gamer), rather they read pattern after pattern.
My problem is that i have played EZ(DT)(HD)for over 9 months and have gotten decent at reading ez, but i try to translate that aim to maps without EZ but my aim is still iffy and inconsistent.
@@small7241 same. I've noticed that going back to nomod I'll straight up mis aim circles that I properly read. Which is the 1% (imo more like 10%) raw aim that can get kind of lax with CS 2. But I usually readjust fairly quickly tighten my aim back up after a few maps.
Do you think there is a difference between aiming from circle to circle and focusing on moving your cursor (trying to be aware where it is at all times)?
For anyone struggling with the snap aim part of this just be aware that as your ability to play more difficult stuff increases you will find that when you play easier things your aim will be snappier. Imagine playing a super slow square. You don’t read it as a square, just really slow 1-2’s essentially. Same thing happens with the squares you struggle with now. When you’re better they will feel like the squares you think are slow now when you are better. Basically just get good.
As a former csgo player who now only wants to play osu! I swear this is the only channel thag understands the fucken difference between the games. So many prople are like yeah i use osu to warmup or practice for my fps. Its not an aim trainer. Its a rhythm game. Its on a different (not higher, but different) level. Cant compare them to the same extent. Explained to well and im so happy
The idea that rhythm can be found in other games is really interesting, and it’s one I’ve had since I started playing osu. I think the flow and intuition needed in every game can be broken down into a rhythm the player feels, and it’s only obvious as “rhythm” in osu because the intuition manifests itself in the flow of a song. In other games, CSGO as you said, or even something as far fetched as Minecraft parkour, the “rhythm” is something built by the player the more they play. Great video!
I figured the individual focus on the circles recently but when I did I was so happy, although this video really helped to remind me that and confirm it.
The part on snap aim was really eye-opening for me. I've heard my more skilled friend talking about working on his snap aim but I couldn't think of how to go about that mentally. I think the the explanation in this video is putting me on the right track.

This video confirmed things about aim that i discovered yesterday. After knowing approximately how much (n amount) you need to get to x distance in screen(that is, you're no longer a beginner in aim/can aim patterns by feel), what you have to do is to focus on individual notes and _try to consciously trace them with your aim hand the way it feels correct._ Apparently, I wasn't doing the underlined part, which led to no sense of aim control and generally flowy aim. Hopefully if i keep training this way, this way of aiming will become muscle memory for me, so even in my bad days i end up FCing maps
How does raw aim only correspond to 1% of aim overall, it’s far greater than that, the ability to control your hand is hugely disregarded and the compatibility you have with your settings like your surface area make up a huge portion of what you can and can’t do with your aim. You can definitely be able to read notes and not be able to hit them because of your raw aim. As an example, i reached a legit rank of 120 and cheated afterwards resulting in a big hiatus from me, after returning I was no longer able to perform at the same level I was back then, not because I wasn’t able to read notes but because I couldn’t find a comfortable surface area and didn’t dedicate anytime to learn any other new area, my raw aim was stuck while my reading still far exceeds most 4digit and some 3 digit players. if muscle memory is considered raw aim then I would say that the term play more to improve stands true and sure tips and tricks like these such as reading notes individually or reading them in 1-2s can help but the more you train your raw aim to accustom itself to your cursor the more precise and bigger the jumps you can make are. Top players change their surface areas all the time and suck for awhile but since they already have the game knowledge like you stated in the video it becomes easier for them to adapt and go on as usual maybe even improve by adjusting their raw aim to something that fits them better. But idk just triggered me how raw aim is considered 1% of your aim. I see no real way to improve your aim here, there’s suggestions that might help but overall the essential lesson is that every map or situation or beatmap has a different approach that can be used to better perform during the map.
