Hey great video. I like watching these. I’m wanting to build one myself so I’m getting all kinds of good ideas and very useful information from channels like this and broke overland. Love the content. Hopefully I’ll be building one soon
This is shaping up to be an excellent build. Can’t wait to see this come together. Side note: on the isotherm fridge double check the measurement. When I was looking at fridges. All the ones I wanted where 1/2” to big to fit through the 21 1/2” of clearance the euro door provides with the frame in.
Ok so I did some measuring and you can fit the isotherm 195 through the euro door. What I discovered is that the outer flange of the refrigerator is mounted with a handful of machine screws and is not a "fixed" part of the refrigerator. after removing all of the screws I can remove the mount flange and get the refrigerator width down to 20 9/16" making easy work of getting through the door.... you had me sweating that one!! When I get to that point I'll post a video on it.

I really appreciate you sharing your buildout. It's very helpful, as well, to see it in progress. Since shelters or habitats are so expensive to buy, I was thinking about building one from scratch. I see on the backend of your habitat that it looks like you built that from scratch. Is that correct? If so, can you share any learning resources that I could use for research on how to do this? Again, I love what you're doing. Keep up the great work. And thanks for sharing the knowledge.
Wow, great job! I can't wait to see the progress. Do yourself a favor though, when you get to finishing the interior, stay away from Broke Overland's channel. His hoodliner idea was awesome, but his idea of interior finishes will kill the average man.

Thank you, I bought the truck on New Year’s Day from a guy who bought it off gov planet a few years back. I really liked this truck because he had it titled as an RV already so plating it was easy.
Yes! Great way to go! The auctions look like such a hassle, and tagging and insurance is even more overhead! I still am trying though, thank you for the response, and looking forward to your next update! Thanks again.
Just saw this video and subscribed! Great job on the habitat. It may be in another video, but what is the plan to prevent thermal transfer into the habitat?
Thank you! I may be answering you question wrong if so please clarify. The habitat is 2” thick foam bonded walls with 3.5” floor & ceiling. The 3’ extension I built on the back of the truck is all spray foam insulated with tiger foam 2”, then to separate the truck cab I am currently using a 4” thick foam block that I just push in snug to my crawl through and so far that seem to work. Thanks for the sub!
The ceiling height is about 6’6” so it’s perfect for my relatively short family I’m the tallest at 5’8” . And as for the acquisition, I bought the truck from a guy in Washington who did have it licensed as an RV already so that was awesome!!
Have you ever considered changing out the stock alternator for an aftermarket diesel 24 volt lternator and eliminate the issues of the overpriced alternator.

The 16ga was think enough to be strong against trees branches scrapes etc. but your still able to work it easily with nibblers and shears. I think it would be a good application for your project. Good luck 👍

I haven’t only because the factory alternator is capable of 12 and 24 volts which is nice for wiring interior components but thanks for the insight.
I'm not crazy about the fold down deck. When traveling if you need to stop and get quick access for any reason, you first have to fold down the deck.
That’s why I have a pass through going into the cab. For quick access. Thanks for the comment though.

The 16ga was think enough to be strong against trees branches scrapes etc. but your still able to work it easily with nibblers and shears. I think it would be a good application for your project. Good luck 👍
