We just went with our 15 month old daughter to disney world...Nov. 20-26 2022. She was barely walking and liked some things... her favorite was small world. We also have 6 and 9 year old boys, what they like vs. what the baby liked totally different! Makes for a unique vacation. Also a teacher who had a baby in August, delivered our first scheduled day of class. Don't feel guilty about being out. Take all the time you need... you can't get back time with your little, but still always have a new set of kids. Y'all are awesome!!!
Congratulations!!! As for breastfeeding - pumping is not an indication of what the baby is eating! It’s an indication of what the pump is pumping. All you need to think about is baby’s output - wet and poopy diapers is the best indicator of supply. Kellymom is a wonderful breastfeeding blog that has great answers to all questions!

He is beautiful!! Congrats!! To increase milk production, you should pump after he nurses every time while he is little now. That will tell your body that he is emptying you and that you need to produce more. It will also help to stock your freezer full of milk so that you have that when you go back to work. You can even pump between feedings if you still feel like you are not producing enough. Even though you may not pump a lot into a bottle at first, it will tell your body to ramp up production.

Congratulations on your new baby!!! I had a vaginal birth with my son. Honestly, it doesn't matter if it's vaginal or c-section. It takes a huge toll on your mind, body, etc. I wish people would stop comparing the two because at the end of the day c-sections are no joke and take twice as long to recover from so honestly, birth no matter how it happens is painful and should be celebrated equally.
C-section is the way to go lol had one for both kids and luckily I had a good recovery. Did u deliver at (3 letter hospital)- don’t want to put it out to the whole world lol beautiful baby and if you did deliver there their L&D team is amazing ❤❤ blessings to you all!

Congrats!! I had a verrrrry similar birth story with my son. I was laughing and crying and yessing along while you told yours. My anesthesiologist was also a godsend. I was high AF, and when they showed me the kids, he picked my hand up and put it on the baby and said, “you can touch him” 😂 We also didn’t find out the gender ahead of time and win the doctor pulled him out he said, “oh, he Peed on me!“ And that’s how we found out we had a boy lol! I remember being rolled into postop where are my husband and the baby were, and I thought that we were naming my baby James actually. We’re both Harry Potter fans and James is a lovely name. But my husband walked over to me and said, “the baby and I talked about it, and we decided his name is Max.” ❤

So happy for you guys. I have 3 kids first was similar to you induction and them c section. Easy baby. Second natural regular birth no pain meds labour for days. Baby a bit more fussy. Third natural labour no meds quicker labour but way more painful. Fussy baby. All wonderful teens now. It is hard at first but man is it a great ride. Honestly, enjoy the cuddles while you can. So happy getting to watch you guys on your journey brings back great memories for me. You will have hard days but you guys seem to be aware of that. Congratulations again

Congratulations on sweet little James!! I just had my 4th baby on August 30th and the time home for maternity leave is the best and never long enough! I've breast fed all 4 of my kids and what I found that made a huge difference in my milk supply is drinking water, getting a lot of electrolytes, protein and taking prenatal vitamins.

So good to see you guys back and finally get to see your cute little James on camera! Our birth stories are very similar. I was induced at 39 weeks and after a little over 24 hours I only dilated to 4 and they came and told us that baby was showing signs of stress and to get prepared for a c-section I think I had maybe 15-20 minutes to process all of it before I was on the operating table. My heart just melted when Garrett was talking about his purpose. ❤️

Congratulations! 🥰 He is beautiful. ❤️. Breastfeeding is really difficult and some moms don't respond well to the pump. Check to make sure your flange size is correct for you as well and pumping frequently. I had better success if I helped with the pump (ie. Using light pressure on the breast to stimulate a stronger flow) I had to exclusively pump the first 17 days after my son was born because he was extremely sick and needed open heart surgery and was unable to nurse. I was told looking at pictures or videos of your babe as well as crying babes can help create the hormones that trigger breastfeeding. Drinking lots of water (100-120oz daily), prenatal vitamin, and a well balanced diet go a long way. A lot of moms have success in using a hakka on the breast you aren't nursing with while breastfeeding as you will naturally loose milk on the opposite breast because baby has triggered let down for both breasts regardless. There are some things ypu van eat or drink to help with breastfeeding, but I haven't tried those. It's all about supply and demand though so if you want to increase your supply pumping after nursing (especially in the morning) will help increase your supply. The most important thing to remember is that you are doing awesome! Don't stress too much. If you need to supplement with formula at some point that's okay! Keep it up momma. 🥰❤️
I am 38 weeks tomorrow and not being able to sleep so this video was perfect timing. I am a first time mom and nervous about labor and delivery but hearing your birth story and all your answers were nice to hear from a first time mom. Congrats to you both.
Quick tip!!! Read up on meditation. In between contractions close your eyes and go to another place. Time will seem to slow down and give you the time you need to take a “breather”! Love you❤ and good luck!!!

Awe he’s so precious! I delivered my daughter at CDH!! I was wondering if you were going to deliver there! I loved my nurse there she was a rockstar and was what I needed since I hardly new my Dr. My favorite Dr came on right after one I had met the week before signed onto my delivery!! I had a natural birth but I was also 8cm when I got checked in! I can’t imagine having such a long labor and on Pitocin too!! My daughter had a big head too that gave me problems with my vaginal birth!! I’m so glad Garret has been there sorry he has to go back to work! We might be in Disney World the same time you are trying to plan a family trip around that time too!

Congrats on a beautiful, healthy baby. Some of your birth story was so similar to mine, but I didn't have the surprise twist of a C-section. I did have a 9# 2oz baby boy. And when you said it's just James and no other variation I was the same way with my Andrew and we've not had anyone try to call him anything else. My nephew is also James Michael and he is also James, no variation. I love seeing the updates and look forward to whatever content you put out.
I think we are kindred spirits. We share the same birthday and our birth stories are so similar. I labored for like 22 hours then emergency c section. My baby’s head was too large to fit through the birth canal as well. The shaking was caused by the anesthesia. So happy you and baby are healthy and well. 💜

Congratulations on your baby. James is a adorable. I was feeding Ariel while watching this. When she was done, she started crying when it came to burp her. That’s when James started crying during his diaper change. I almost had a c-section. The Pitocin was the worst for me too. I got the epidural first at 6 cm dilated and then got the Pitocin later on when they saw that I wasn’t progressing. I still need to record my birth story lol.

Awe he’s so precious! I delivered my daughter at CDH!! I was wondering if you were going to deliver there! I loved my nurse there she was a rockstar and was what I needed since I hardly new my Dr. My favorite Dr came on right after one I had met the week before signed onto my delivery!! I had a natural birth but I was also 8cm when I got checked in! I can’t imagine having such a long labor and on Pitocin too!! My daughter had a big head too that gave me problems with my vaginal birth!! I’m so glad Garret has been there sorry he has to go back to work! We might be in Disney World the same time you are trying to plan a family trip around that time too!

Congrats on a beautiful, healthy baby. Some of your birth story was so similar to mine, but I didn't have the surprise twist of a C-section. I did have a 9# 2oz baby boy. And when you said it's just James and no other variation I was the same way with my Andrew and we've not had anyone try to call him anything else. My nephew is also James Michael and he is also James, no variation. I love seeing the updates and look forward to whatever content you put out.
I think we are kindred spirits. We share the same birthday and our birth stories are so similar. I labored for like 22 hours then emergency c section. My baby’s head was too large to fit through the birth canal as well. The shaking was caused by the anesthesia. So happy you and baby are healthy and well. 💜

Congratulations on your baby. James is a adorable. I was feeding Ariel while watching this. When she was done, she started crying when it came to burp her. That’s when James started crying during his diaper change. I almost had a c-section. The Pitocin was the worst for me too. I got the epidural first at 6 cm dilated and then got the Pitocin later on when they saw that I wasn’t progressing. I still need to record my birth story lol.
I also was induced with both my children. I had the epidural with my first, but only gas and air with my second. I both born naturally x

WOW! I feel like I’m listening to a version of my own birth story with my son 29 years ago! Right down to the emergency C-section, the shakes and a big baby! He was 21 inches too…and 10 lbs, 4 oz! CONGRATULATIONS! Best Christmas gift ever!
