Really nice. I made a few various enclosures like this. One thing to warn the viewer who wants to do a build like this but hold some kind of amphibian is to make sure you get FISH SAFE foam. I have never had luck with fully sealing the housing foam and it is toxic. I killed so many fish learning that l lesson. Even with absolutely tons of silicone. things will shift, open up and leach those toxins into water then murder your fish, frogs, newts. I built one with pond safe foam and I have had 0 problems in my dwarf frog, fish and mystery snail tank!

The water level is just so slightly lower than the soil level, I also build it very high towards the back - the plants I choose though so very well with terrestrial style growth and high humidity. Even Sagitaria and aquatic plants. They thrive in this environment. I keep worms, isopods, springtails & millipedes in here too. They do a good job of turning it over constantly 😄
May I ask some advice? How might you service the filter if needed? Also, how often do you water change something like this? I imagine with a lot of the water running through plant material that it filters itself pretty well but what about your sponges on the bottom getting super clogged up? Also, most people tend to say you should have darts with a water feature. I'm want to do it myself too, but I want to be sure I do it right.
