Madera visits Seville to meet one of the most important guitar collectors in the history of Spain. He has owned about 1000 guitars in his lifetime. Some like 40-50 Santos Hernández, 6 Torres... All the guitars of the greatest names in the history of guitar making have passed through his hands. A very extensive knowledge of what a quality guitar should be. Very interesting interview where he talks to us and also plays some of the best guitars from his collection such as Santos Hernández, Marcelo Barbero, Domingo Esteso, Modesto Borreguero, Manuel Reyes... Un senor que respeta a sus clientes. Yo pasaba de su taller hace 10 anos, y me presentaba la mejor guitarra que tenia, sin saber quien soy, y con precio increible al respeto de la calidad de guitarra.

Jose Luis Postigo es una persona inigualable y con unos conocimientos y amor por la guitarra impar.
Al fin de todos esos años y experiencias nos deja un resumen muy claro. La guitarra ha vivido cortos momentos de verdadera genialidad y muchos de oscuridad. Esas obras son únicas. Guitarras para la historia.
Mi consejo a cualquiera que se adentre al mundo de la colección. No le hagan nada a su guitarra para mejorarla. Al menos que sea cerrar una grieta peligrosa o algo así. Alturas, barniz etc. eso debe permanecer. Los cambios se comen y acaban con las guitarras.
En mi reducida experiencia veo que toda guitarra necesita mucho tiempo para entenderla.
Y Jose Luis nos lo explica. Como ese anécdota cuando vendió la Barbero de coral porque no entendía la calidad que tenía en sus manos pensando en que podía conseguir otra igual. Y no sucedió.
Este vídeo es realmente una joya. Muchas gracias por lograrlo, al maestro por prestarse y además las preguntas todas muy precisas.
Mi única pregunta es cual cuerda or cuerdas son las que le gustan a Jose Luis Postigo.

Jose Luis is such a knowledgeable and gentlemanly person. I visited his workshop in Svilla in 2009 and we chatted for several hours and finally he recommended one of his guitars to me, which was perfect in relation to the budget I had then, and I am still very happy with the guitar after so many years. I love this man and he is a gift to all flamenco guitarists worldwide❤❤❤

Se refiere a la madera de Coral. también se llama Padauk. Creo que es así. Y el nombre del árbol creo también que tiene ése nombre. Pero te estoy diciendo esto sin estar 100% seguro. Roble Coral nunca lo oí.
Ahhhhh, si Padauk , he oído, Es que precisamente cuando escuché coral * hice Google y lo único que salió roble coral de Costa Rica, y me quede con la duda . Gracias por la clarificación .

For that you have the subtitles. Go to settings at the bottom right of the video, click subtitles and select your language. You have 15 options of subtitles there of many different languages.

@@maderaguitarras Thank-you for the quick reply. I was recently reading the Romanillos/Torres book. One section rang very true to me, talking about string tension and how tight the strings feel under the right hand. I have 3 guitars (all 650mm, traditional) and with the same strings on one guitar they can feel tight and on another quick slack. You do very interesting videos, maybe a topic you could explore for us that don't know so much?
Great suggestion!! . In my opinion and experience there are many things can influence that tension. Things I can think now about it is I heard some talking about the Head angle, the strings angle on the bridge and the one I really think it takes influences is the flexibility of the top with no doubt. But it is something to delve into it. Actually I was also thinking few months ago about taking out some video about it. Yes, very interesting!. Thanks again.
