Don't laugh. I'm 65 y/o, and when I feel stressed, I lay down and watch a couple episodes of The Waltons. That's how I DE-stress. The love you all have for each other came through beautifully on the show. I notice the kisses, hugs, and just touches that you all gave each other. The love was real and it shows. I'm sure you've heard it a million times, but The Waltons was, and still is, a wonderful show. THANK YOU!
I agree with you! I’m also in my 60’s and commented on another post a few months back that I had been going through a very stressful time and watching The Walton’s actually helped to de-stress and comfort me.
In "real life", Michael has the nurturing elements we also saw in the show. But she also has a great sense of humor that we couldn't see when watching the Walton's. What an all-around wonderful person to be around. Thank you so much for this special video.
Judy, the chemistry between you two is amazing. There was a moment when I almost saw the Waltons emerge and you became Mary Ellen and Michael became Olivia. It was really touching. Love this so much. Michael is so much fun to watch.
Hi Judy..I noticed through watching the Waltons that today's actor's don't have that dynamic family bond even years later..it's like once in a lifetime experience! Thank you ❤
Two beautiful ladies, inside and out. The genuine interactions among all the cast members are what keeps the episode’s, so special, and I cherish those days. watching you all play on The Walton’s is relevant today as it was back then at tender age of 13-14 years old, you all are so dear to my heart. ❤️😊
This is simply wonderful. I started re-watching The Waltons in retrospect as my parents were both in Hospice recently (both died in the past month, sadly), and the only time they enjoyed life in the past two months was watching The Waltons. Judy, you're a wonderful interviewer and story teller. I had no idea. I can recall my admiration for you back then due to your athleticism and fun acting style. Thank you for sharing this, and thank you Michael.
I have great memories of watching the Waltons 50 years ago with great memories of my mom watching it with me. Nice that you were able to have a nice experience such as the Waltons during that transitional period in your lives. Something about that show, it's epic for a reason. Hope your doing well, considering the sad circumstances.
Amybeth, my heart is with you, as I’m sure is true for so many. I expect your world feels rocked off balance right now. If it helps, Huberman lab (podcast/TH-cam) has a talk (or several) on the work of grief. I hope and trust you will come through to more peace over time & The Waltons will help you. As a start, it may help you get more of the tears flowing & out ;). It seems we need to gather our truths to heal, doesn’t it? Best wishes to you, especially for patience and self care. You’re not alone …❤️🩹
I watched the Walton's when it first aired and still watch the re-runs today. A wonderful series with great family values. I wish there were more shows produced similar to it in today's time.
What a treat! What I loved about Michael Learned was her ability to convey so much with just a facial expression. There were a few scenes in the Waltons when she didn't have dialogue but her expression said so much. She was a joy to watch.
This is a total feel good video! Also, the idea of NOT salting during cooking is what I was taught, especially with meat, as the salt draws moisture from the meat, making it tougher than if you salt at the table. Sea salt is what I prefer, as it doesn't pull as much moisture out as table salt.
Fifty years is a lot of time. It can make you sad, but not when you say it. This is not a sentimental journey into the past. It sounds more like a blessing, the way you celebrate a life long friendship. Still an example, then and now. Thank you both.
I so enjoyed this! I was one of those people that wanted the "Walton life"...and still do! The zucchini looked so delicious! Michael Learned has a timeless beauty that never changes! So do you, Judy. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Oh thank you for this!! I love both of you, and Michael cracked me up when she said... "I have a filthy mouth!" I think it's the coolest thing EVER that you two have been in touch for 50 years! I STILL watch reruns of The Waltons at 2 or 3 in the morning, so comforting. I wish I could hug you both... Thanks... Christie
The app Freevee has all of the seasons of Waltons, I watch it every day. It's a totally free app, I have it on my phone, tablet and on my Roku on my TV.
It is so fascinating! Other TV moms remained close to their TV children. Yvonne DeCarlo (Lilly Munster) was closer to Butch Patrick (Eddie Munster) than his own parents ever were. Just one example.
Great characters, great storylines, great scriptwriters, Great actors/actresses. Great wholesome family entertainment, and great memories of days of old. Thank you.
Oh my gosh, inspired people. The Waltons brings joy into our lives today more then ever. Because of the times we are in today, the Waltons takes you back when things were much simpler.💞
@@judynorton2598 lets give credit were its due so are you Judy, your accomplishments are exemplary. I'm sure there's more, the shows not over. The " Best " is yet to come
This was nice! I remember the episode when Mary Ellen and Erin were cooking supper because Mama and Grama were re-vamping Grampa's tweed suit for John-boy, Mary Ellen whined and crabbed because she was having to cook LOL. This was fun, it made me hungry :)
Oh my goodness! Just wonderful! One of my favorite scenes of Olivia is her birthday when she's a bit blue and in the yard weeding her garden a bit. John Boy reads her a poem he has selected to celebrate her special day: The Windhover by Gerard Manley Hopkins!(I think that's the poem; I'll have to double-check!) Olivia Smiles, but doesn't quite understand it but appreciates the lovely words. John Boy explains the poem and how it relates to Olivia, that she might see her life as ordinary, even mundane, but she and her life is very beautiful nonetheless. Ms Learned, thanks so very much for all your beautiful work as Olivia Walton and for joining Judy's Behind the Scenes. Like many others here, I've been a fan since the beginning! I just don't have the words to express why The Walton's and all of you mean so much to me! Judy, thank you again for your wonderful videos and présence! ❤
I love that episode, The Air Mail Man, in season 2. I love that part where he reads her that poem. So beautiful, such lovely words.❤️ I always rewind it.
So wonderful watching you two together. Thank you both so much! I was just watching The Easter Story and how Michael displays her magnificent talent. The last episode I watched with you both in the kitchen you were helping Mama with canning peaches I believe in the Dust Bowl Cousins. What a way to start a Monday!!🥰
Judy, thank you for sharing Michael with us. She is a gift. I appreciate her both as Olivia and Michael after seeing her wonderful character shining through in this interview. Also, I would want more garlic; never enough. The zucchini looked delicious and I imagine the smell was tantalizing. So nice to see you still connecting after all these years. It is so hearwarming.
Absolutely awesome Judy! Love you cooking with Michael. My son's name is Michael....he said he's gonna change his name to Olivia. I laughed. We watch the Waltons every weekday at noon on METV. He has a crush on Michael...I get it totally. Thanks Judy....so looking forward to the part 2. ❤❤❤❤❤
What a wonderful interaction, so enjoyable! It was interesting to hear Ms. Learned talk about how people responded when she would say something out of character for Olivia. It's hard sometimes for the public to differentiate, especially when the character is so loved. I remember many years ago June Lockhart, who played Timmy's mom in the Lassie series, expressing some frustration at not being able to be seen having an alcohol beverage in public because, well, she was Lassie's mom for cryin' out loud! I suppose being strongly associated with a beloved character can be a mixed blessing at times. But I'm thankful for actors who so wonderfully portray people to whom we can relate and who validate our own values. Thank you for a lovely video!
So glad to see the two of you together in a kitchen really cooking! Fifty years as friends and coworkers is awesome. You both look great. Cant wait for part two.
I cried so much when I saw you both together, it made me feel like the old days, thanks a million for having her on your show. Cheers to MICHEAL. HI FROM LUTZ FLORIDA USA
I just love, Michael!!! She has always been good to me. Earl's mother was Italian. It is interesting she was in Italy for awhile. I knew she had been to Austria. Michael and Ralph really loved each other. I still believe they should have gotten married. Michael was so good to Ellen the last 2 years and supervised her care at the Motion Picture Hospital. She also arranged Ellen's memorial service. Mary Beth said Michael was like a second mother to her after she lost her parents and being sick.
Well kiddo that was heart warming. Michael's voice takes me back. Love her home. What character it has! Love the recipe as well.what a treat this segment was. Looking forward to part 2. Keep up the grand work kiddo!
Loved this. Michael is so much like Olivia in ways. She has the nurturing feeling about her as both Michael and Olivia. You just see it and hear it. The best cooks don't go by an exact recipe they just wing it a little bit. That looked very healthy and good. I'll try it. Part 2 can't wait.
“Corabeth- SHE couldn’t cook.” Hahaha hilarious. This is awesome and I’m gonna go dive into part two. Kudos on the camera crew and lighting and beautiful set! A true professional setting for a couple of true professionals. I just wanted to say that it wasn’t the nurturing or the kindness or the gentleness that made me love Olivia Walton. I loved her for different reasons. She didn’t forget about herself. She took up art, she learned to drive, she rode all over that dang town on her bicycle, and she went on walks . She had a real relationship with her in-laws, which is an amazing part of the show to have witnessed because it doesn’t happen in real life very often and this show was a model for how it could be done. She was an example of how to keep a marriage alive with excitement and romance. She stuck to her guns and didn’t back down when something was important to her. But maybe the most important thing was her relationship with each of her kids. There are moments where she and John boy do some of the finest acting in the entire series in their talks with each others. The way, she knew each one of them individually and celebrated their talents and encouraged them was absolutely beautiful. Now I know that this was the writers, and I know that these were just characters. But she is one heck of an actor and I can’t help but tear up when I watch so many episodes and see Michael at work. I’m so grateful to everyone who worked on the show because it really is a work of art in so many ways. Thank you Judy for keeping it alive well into the 21st-century.
I love this‼️ So Happy to see both of them. I still watch the Walton's almost everyday, it's wholesome and reminds me of a time when people respected and helped each other.
I love that recipe and cooking episode! What a blessing to have had a friendship like that for so many years! I am just a couple years behind you, Judy. The interactions between the characters were such a treat for the audience - it felt authentic.❤
This segment was an absolute delight!!! Watching you two together was like magic as anyone could see the great friendship you have! Can't wait for part 2!❤❤
Hi Miss Judy I'm 61 but my 9 year old self who adored you both and still does wants to say I love you both for always being food for my soul God Bless You Both Goodnight Momma And Goodnight MaryEllen💖💖💖💖💖
I’m just thrilled having watched you both together again! I’ve never seen you in person (still hoping), but saw Michael in “Month in the Country” at the Mark Taper Forum. Michael was divine and I was over the moon. Thanks so much. This made my day Judy!
Wow, I’m blown away by this epic get-together! You both look lovely. She certainly does not look eightysomething! My goodness, this felt like a “real” (produced) tv show-beautiful “set,” “wardrobe,” hair, makeup, lighting…Yet such a natural cozy interaction between you and Michael! Just love the stories, the anecdotes, the cooking demo! “Mary Ellen” and “Momma” look wonderful-here in the “1980’s”(?)! Haha! Can’t wait to see part two!!
There is something I just love about your kitchen episodes. Maybe it is the heart (or the stomach 😊). Great getting to see Michael! She is a very loving person.
Good to see you and Michael together. I am part Italian also, my father was Italian. His mom cooked delicious Italian food, and his Dad made the best meatballs. My mama was Irish and Swedish and she was an amazing cook and made all the Italian food also. The lasagna was phenomenal. She also baked fantastic desserts. I love spicy food, Italian food, especially garlic ❤️
My dad was italian too and my mom, also a great cook, learned to make the best italian food, esp. the lasagna (best I've ever had) as well, from his mother.
There's nothing better than Italian cooking. I know. My grandparents on both sides were from Italy. I had no idea that Momma Walton was half Italian. Although I think there was an episode were spaghetti and meatballs was served. Great video as always serving warmth and sense of family. You guys are epic. Thank you for the great memories. 🍝👍
I'm binge watching all of the seasons of The Waltons on Freevee TV. I've always loved the show and started watching it when I was a little kid with my dad. I have seen every episode more than once. My favorite show 😊 I'm 60 now and was almost 9 years old when I started watching. Oct 1963 birthday ❤
I can't tell you how happy I am to see you both here!! Much love! You have a beautiful kitchen, Judy. The zucchini dish looked delicious too - it's a favorite of mine. Loved hearing the memories of the relationship between Michael & Ralph & the kids. Looking forward to the next visit. ❤
Outstanding episode, and I say this before I even watch it. Thank you Judy. I've been waiting for this like you wouldn't believe. Thank you, thank you, and thank you!
Delightful, thanks Judy! I would like Michael to know that, about this time every year, I watch her movie, A Christmas Without Snow. It's a tradition in my home.
Great to see you both in the kitchen Judy. I’m Italian all the way. Visited my relatives in Italy eight times. I have relatives in the country and city and in the city they pretty much shop for fresh produce and fruits etc every day. Both my parents came from Italy.
Yes so true. We as fans always have to remember to separate the character they play and the real life person. Sometimes there are similarities, but sometimes not.
What a wonderful segment, amazing to see you and Michael sharing special moments in the kitchen. My mother learned how to place a turkey on plate by seeing how Olivia used a spoon to place the turkey on the serving plate. Thanks for sharing this video with your fans!
This made me so happy! She always seems to sell herself short, but I think no matter how good of an actress you are, those nurturing aspects of her personality and the genuine love she had for you all was what we all were drawn to and desired in our own lives. I so hope I get to meet her one day. Thank you (and Ms Learned) for sharing her in this setting with us!
Loved this video and as I was watching it my husband (who has dementia) was watching The Waltons because he forgets what he has already seen and still just loves these shows so much. It was so good to see the two of you together and you both are still so beautiful. Judy if that is your kitchen I am in love with it as I love color so much, what a beautiful kitchen!!
I loved seeing Michael again. She's as beautiful as ever. And that zucchini and tomatoes dish looked delicious. Thanks for the tip about adding oil to the butter to help keep it from turning brown. I never knew that!
hahaha...I am watching The Waltons right now on METV and this episode The Inferno , you are making deviled eggs . love seeing you and Michael in the kitchen again.
Enjoyed watching you two together in the kitchen. Everything you said, Judy about Michael Learned is so true. Anybody would have wished to have a mother like her. What you both were making looked really delicious! Look forward to watching part 2.
Thank you so much. This was so nice to watch, and in England we pronounce it 'tomarto' also.😂❤ Michael looks so well and happy 😊 You should have your own television series.
I’m Scottish and we also say it the same as in England. Not sure if it’s just me but I pronounce oregano with emphasis on the last part (gano), which rhymes with “nano”.
What a wonderful respite this was from all the overwhelming troubles of our daily world. So wonderful to see these two old friends from one of the greatest and most beloved TV shows that I still watch all the time. And by the way, if that's your kitchen Miss Judy, I love love love love love it and would absolutely copy it were I ever to remodel again.
It's Mama!! Just watched the episode where Mama gives the " leave the potted geranium out"advice so Mary Ellen & Curt could have some "alone time"...thank yoo Mama 🤣💞💕🩷
You both are amazing, beautiful women. Love your videos Judy about the time you were on the Waltons. You get a complete and different perspective of what we see as fans and what real life was like for you all. I love the interaction in the kitchen. It's sad that some have passed on and we can't see this side like with you and Michael, but we'll take what we can get and be grateful. Thanks for sharing with us. My wife and I are in season four right now of the show. God Bless ❤
Don't laugh. I'm 65 y/o, and when I feel stressed, I lay down and watch a couple episodes of The Waltons. That's how I DE-stress. I think it’s the love that calms us, I was from a family of 8 kids and tho I’m sure we were loved, we weren’t nurtured 🥹
I do the exact same thing. The Walton’s are my go to when I need to calm myself. My very favorite show.

Thank you so much. I agree - Michael was always magic on screen.
@AimieNolte...I Sooo agree with every aspect of your review here. I could not have said it better.❤
@@greatvideo8201 So glad❤
I love this‼️ So Happy to see both of them. I still watch the Walton's almost everyday, it's wholesome and reminds me of a time when people respected and helped each other.
Happy to hear you still enjoy the show.
It's very cool to see you and your TV mom hanging out together! I'm sure the food you cooked was delicious. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Our pleasure!
Lifetime bonds :)
Still watch the series !
It’s a calming way of life
So glad.
Hi Miss Judy I'm 61 but my 9 year old self who adored you both and still does wants to say I love you both for always being food for my soul God Bless You Both Goodnight Momma And Goodnight MaryEllen💖💖💖💖💖
🥰
☺️💖☺️
I’m just thrilled having watched you both together again! I’ve never seen you in person (still hoping), but saw Michael in “Month in the Country” at the Mark Taper Forum. Michael was divine and I was over the moon. Thanks so much. This made my day Judy!
So glad. :)
Absolutely one of your ALL TIME BEST videos!!! A HUGE fan of Michael Learned and her body of work!
So glad you enjoyed it.
Happy birthday Judy.
Thank you!
Thank you so much!! It actually was professionally produced. A story for another time :)
What a great cooking adventure, and Michael is such a joy 😊 to listen too!! Thanks for sharing!!
Our pleasure!
There is something I just love about your kitchen episodes. Maybe it is the heart (or the stomach 😊). Great getting to see Michael! She is a very loving person.
So fun to share this visit with Michael.
That's awesome!
A friendly happy cookery event by two amazing women 🙏🙏😍
Thanks so much.
Oh how lovely to see you two together 🥰. We were raised watching the Walton’s; brings back many happy memories. Best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧. Max. X
Thanks so much! 😊
That was fab - loved it when you called her mama. ❤❤ That looks a great recipe too. Looking forward to part two 😀
Happy to hear that.
So glad you enjoyed this.
Thankyou Judy. It shows what beautiful warm people the two of you are as well as the rest of the cast. I still love the Waltons ❤
Thank you so. much.
I'm binge watching all of the seasons of The Waltons on Freevee TV. I've always loved the show and started watching it when I was a little kid with my dad. I have seen every episode more than once. My favorite show 😊
I'm 60 now and was almost 9 years old when I started watching. Oct 1963 birthday ❤
Thank you so much for watching.
Thank you! (although the kitchen is not mine :)
Judy loved watching you and Michael in the kitchen and you can tell you two are special looking forward to the next one

Outstanding episode, and I say this before I even watch it. Thank you Judy. I've been waiting for this like you wouldn't believe. Thank you, thank you, and thank you!
Happy to be able to share this.
Delightful, thanks Judy! I would like Michael to know that, about this time every year, I watch her movie, A Christmas Without Snow. It's a tradition in my home.
How sweet.
Wow, great chemistry and cooking is the icing on the cake
Thank you.
I loved The Waltons and everyone in the family show. Thank you for sharing this interview with Michael. So great seeing the two of you together. ❤

Always great for us to spend time together.
Omg. So excited to see you girls together!!! Please do a Waltons meet and greet near Toronto, Ontario! Love your show!
Thanks for joining us. We’d love to get to Toronto area one of these days.
Delightful Judy! Is that your kitchen? Amazing colors and yes ladies your outfits fit perfectly with those fabulous colors! 🎉❤
Thank you. Not either of our kitchens.
@judynorton2598 thank you! 😊
Great to see you both in the kitchen Judy. I’m Italian all the way. Visited my relatives in Italy eight times. I have relatives in the country and city and in the city they pretty much shop for fresh produce and fruits etc every day. Both my parents came from Italy.
Bet you have some great recipes!
IT'S LIKE WATCHING THE DINNER SCENES FROM THE WALTONS ALL OVER AGAIN THE 2023 way lol
What a special video... Thank you Ladies for making it and decades of heart warming memories!
Our pleasure.
It's a testament to what a terrific character actress Michael Learned is that she's the polar opposite of Olivia Walton in person! Loved this!
Yes so true. We as fans always have to remember to separate the character they play and the real life person. Sometimes there are similarities, but sometimes not.
She is a brilliant actress, and a lovely person.
What a wonderful segment, amazing to see you and Michael sharing special moments in the kitchen. My mother learned how to place a turkey on plate by seeing how Olivia used a spoon to place the turkey on the serving plate. Thanks for sharing this video with your fans!
Very cool. Thanks!
It’s so nice to see Michael again. It’s like see a old friend after many years apart ❤️
She’s amazing. Love her so much.
We loved you both as well. Your family was a blessing each week. Thank you.
Thank you.
Enjoyed seeing Michael! It seemed Like It was Olivia and Maryellen cooking!
So great to have a real life experience in the kitchen together.
My pleasure to share this with you. She’s amazing.
Loved seeing your reaction to the taste of it with a perfect thumbs up. Only Michael can cook the best just for you especially
Thank you. I love the colors in this kitchen, although it is not mine.
Judy, such an endearing episode with the both of you making more good memories! ❤
Thanks so much for watching.
I loved seeing Michael again. She's as beautiful as ever. And that zucchini and tomatoes dish looked delicious. Thanks for the tip about adding oil to the butter to help keep it from turning brown. I never knew that!
Our pleasure!
hahaha...I am watching The Waltons right now on METV and this episode The Inferno , you are making deviled eggs . love seeing you and Michael in the kitchen again.
Awesome!
You two are so natural together. It's obvious you are old friends. Great to see you both together again.
Thank you so much.
Enjoyed watching you two together in the kitchen. Everything you said, Judy about Michael Learned is so true. Anybody would have wished to have a mother like her. What you both were making looked really delicious! Look forward to watching part 2.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for this special interview with your TV Mama "Michael Learned". What a treat! Looking forward to Part 2!
Awesome! Thank you.
That's so great getting to see Michael and Judy such wonderful friends love this
Thank you.
So very happy to see Michael! Thank you making
time for us.
Thank you so much. This was so nice to watch, and in England we pronounce it 'tomarto' also.😂❤
Michael looks so well and happy 😊
You should have your own television series.
Thank you. I appreciate that.
I’m Scottish and we also say it the same as in England. Not sure if it’s just me but I pronounce oregano with emphasis on the last part (gano), which rhymes with “nano”.
Love to see this. I watch the Walton's every night. One of my favorite shows.
So glad you enjoyed it.
It is so good to see you two together again .❤
Thank you.
Not my kitchen. I’ve shot in mine on my other cooking segments. Glad you enjoyed the segment.
Love seeing you two together again. Loved the show and still do. I own the series on DVD and a couple of Christmas albums from the show.
I love that!
Judy Norton and Michael Learned are amazing people. I just love them both.
Thank you so much.
Hi Judy! An excellent and interesting video with your tv mom. Never knew Michael is of Italian heritage. 🙋🏻♀️❤️
So glad you enjoyed it.
The dynamic duo in the kitchen, well done or should I say done just right.
Thank you.
God Bless ❤
There is a different dynamic to our group when we’re not on camera. Both full of love, but different. Glad you enjoyed it.
