    Joshua Tree, for orchestra (2020)
    Basel Sinfonietta
    Baldur Brönnimann, conductor
Swiss Première, 22 November 2020, Kuspo Münchenstein
The watcher of the night sky inevitably looks at groups of stars, and these create pictures in the viewer’s imagination. However, when looking at the same area through a telescope, the sheer number of light spots makes it impossible to recognize structures. Everything revolves around density and imperceptible motion. That’s the phenomenon which I wanted to implement in music.

Woah, that's incredible... Just listened to this, and it was so touching, so bittersweet, melancholic, grand, majestic... I think Haas has always been a genius, but the pieces he's been putting out recently are all incredible... I cannot wrap my head around how one can write this after Im Schatten des Harfen, and write thereafter Ungefähr ganz genau and Weiter und weiter und weiter... Your creative juices are bound to dry up at one point lol! Yet... he keeps on writing masterpieces. And, whereas his older pieces often feel desolate and absolutely desperate, these new ones have this deep melancholy that gives space to optimism... I am in awe. Thank you for uploading all of this, you are really doing God's work!

Some - or the most important Criticizers of the time right now - comes to the Conclusion that Georg Friedrich Haas is one of the best Composers in these times. Ii dont get it. This sounds like youre watching a zombie apocalypse walking by while the day changes to night. And its hurts my ears and brain. Sorry.
