The trio Pony Says is unique in their explorative approach of performance possibilities. Each member hosts a large expression palette and many possible instruments and tools that can generate an immense variety in sound. For our collaboration I gathered the performers around a concept of physicality, where they could freely choose instruments and experiment with modes of playing. In my search for a new relation to sound and textures of sound my aim was to explore the physical relationship between the performer and their instrument to reach different stages of energy and focus. We used a selection of emotional concepts connected to their specific physical states to develop instrumental playing techniques and modes of interaction that are different for each performer, but at times also unite the trio into one active sound texture.

E-guitar를 이용한 록음악 느낌의 사운드가 호감입니다. 하지만 실험적 성격으로 인해 - 완성도가 높은 음악으로 자주 듣고 싶은 그런 류는 아닌듯 합니다. 록음악 사운드를 제대로 활용한 완성도 높은 작품이 나와서 "스탠다드 레퍼토어"에 편입되는 그런 곡이 있다면 더 좋겠습니다.

Chaya Chernowin’s music usually sounds pretty “basic” to me - effects for effects’ sake. Primal sonic masses in a way, but it all leaves me fairly cold. Like Sciarrino?? To my ears, Sciarrino is full of subtlety, this is not.
