This is an Amazing conversation between the two corporate czars.
Great learning and motivation opportunity 👍
Lively Interview - Really enjoyed it
I agree with Dara on listening skill for leadership person. Very much required skill for innovation.
Indians must start taxis like once upon a type mumbai ,hail a taxi or SHE taxis
Foreign good cars with space and safety must in rental cars not so small u can't get out
It’s astounding that the best of the Indian industry gets outclassed and dominated by an average CEO from the Silicon Valley! No wonder Silicon Valley is where it is. This was a good conversation nevertheless.
Can't start first or last mile connectivity but want metros to run as public transport
Ahmedabad gujarat se hu main
The baseless negative perception of gov from Dara is telling.Despite the arrogance from private entities, gov has always been the sponsor or cosponsor of the many inventions and landmark innovation. And that is so around the road.

Be careful what you wish for ...
Car prices 8 to 10 lac uber given per km rate 10 rupees to driver how can afford to driving
Auto rickshaw cost 2 to 3 lac uber given per km rate 23 plus pick charge
Kabhi Driver ko pucho unko kitna milta ha kitna accepence hota hai
Must be the saddest day of Nandan's life, he had to engage in a conversation with chief thief 😢😢
You must have been laid off by Uber. Sorry about that. Hope you landed ok.

If this conversation were in Silicon Valley, it would have actually spoken to the curious minds of the typical American. Given this Indian setting for the conversation, it is absolutely inconsiderate and dismissive of the needs and far-removed from the curious mind of the average Indian. It is highly unforgivable that, in spite of the availability of so many data points in the long and recent past, Indian leaders, economists and media do not still realize that they are unable to fulfill the curiosities of the average Indian’s mind. The average Indian is the guy or woman who toils hard, works more than a couple of jobs a day, walks a couple of kilometers or more every day, and so on.
These successful Indians are truly in cloud nine. The elephant in the room is that, in the advanced countries, the middle class (to which Nandan Nilekani here belonged) forms the bulk of the population. In India though, the middle class is only a small percentage (~15%) of the population. Its success stories of its competencies in tech areas and the entrepreneurship thereof aren’t going to be capturing the imagination or the curiosity of these working classes.
Also, it is a reflection of a very controlling attitude when someone says, “if you really want to solve India’s problems and challenges…”
Let us accept humbly that India’s middle class cannot and should not dictate which way and how its working class should go. India will only rise, and very quickly so, when the successful middle class person in India and the political leadership will realize she or he would have to be really democratic enough to allow and enable the average working class Indian to pursue her or his own field of competencies and become an entrepreneur in that space.
Digital India may be great. But, at best, It’ll only help the average working class Indian to enter into and complete transactions quickly. But it isn’t at all going to make the average Indian rise, develop competencies and do something fantastic in the areas of these competencies.
It’s egregious therefore to praise a small piece of technology beyond what it is. It hardly enables the average Indian. And let us stop being platitudinous by repeating incessantly how inclusive leaders, current and past, as well as successful entrepreneurs, current and past, have been. The Uber CEO mentioned about listening. So listen to the pangs of the average working class Indian. No point talking about how digital India is inclusive. It is not. It is inclusive only in taking advantage of the working class by making it use the upi system. Because we want to make use of the money of the working class too. It helps in the valuations of our fintech startups and similar other stuff. But when it comes to actually listening to what the working class wants, our heads are buried in the sand. What a travesty of the use of the word “inclusive.”
All talk about AI, ML, autonomous cars… is vapor ware to the average Indian. Get real, wake up, get off your high horses and ivory towers. The Uber CEO is fine because his setting is the US, where he is infusing the middle class curiosity there with interesting info. Cuz the middle class is the bulk of the US. Uber was something that came out of the middle class for the middle class and is being run by the middle class. Not so at all in India.
Kehna kya chahte ho?
@@vishalsaha3541 Sirf middle class ki vikas keliye jor lagane par ya middle class ki tarif karne par hamara desh aage nahin bud payegi. Kyonki, hamare desh me middle class sab se choti hein. Karib 10 ya 12%. Aur, yeh baat jo video mein ho rahi thi, woh Uber Co-founders or CEO/COO ya oonke jaise logon ke bare mein thi. Uber drivers ke bare mein nahin!
