As a lifelong Catholic I have to admit there are tons of Catholic terms, dogmas, etc., that I do not know or do not remember. There is ALOT to our faith, and no one knows every term, every dogma, and decree covering the past 2000 plus years. So these videos are very purposeful for folks like me who love our Lord, want to live right, but can't recall things I read in CCD...or even last week! God Bless y'all
I agree with Fr Rich when he mentioned how great it is for people to care about animals, the oceans and the planet. But I’d like to point out something: there is a current disorder in this love. Some of that love comes with equal hate toward new human life. Some of those individuals that have chosen to care for other beings hate the idea of procreation, and some people who love animals will admittedly say they prefer animals over humans. We can’t forget to love other people no matter what. We need to bring this disorder of love to people.
I had a priest at my Catholic elementary school that whenever he was asked, "Is my dog in Heaven?" He would say if that would make you completely and utterly happy, then yes, Spot is in Heaven. And then he would go on to use the opportunity to explain to the kids how Heaven is untarnished joy and union with God. Probably the best response to that question I've ever heard.
@stingingnettle9726 Him saying "completely and utterly happy" was his way of explaining joy to children. The pleasure of sex is a human-driven reality, whereas the joy of sex is divine. They joy of sex is a reflection of God's love. In heaven, we don't need a reflection of God's love, as we see it completely, without the haze of life on this earth. So is Spot in heaven? Maybe, maybe not, but this was the priest's way of being sensitive to the kiddos while explaining complex theology to them. Eating potato chips makes me happy, but I'd take eternal union with God over potato chips any day

Loneliness is so awful yes. My mother suffered it for years and I couldn’t help her much. So I would always tell her to read and do puzzles. Try to get out and if you can’t, see if your church has a group that can help. Our Knights of Columbus guys, for instance, will pick up those who can’t get to church. We also have an aging home that’s tied in to our Parish. They play bingo under the umbrella that Any senior can attend. People pick up seniors and drop off. Try to get HELP to get Out with others. I will pray for you. Pray to St Rita if possible. She is a saint for the Impossible!!! 😇🙏🩵💜

Wonderful show. For me, this is the most significant part of the scriptures. Blessed are those who mourn... I lost my beloved husband two years ago. And when i thought i was all alone, Christ came to me in those days following to let me know 'they were right there with me in my great suffering.' Psalm 77 is another that brings me to God in all my suffering. Thank you again. Blessed be God forever!

Great job guys. For me, when they depicted the Beatitudes in The Chosen... calling it a MAP, I saw them in a completely different light. I used that example to teach my kids at CCD and the Confirmation class... these are the group you will find Me. Pretty awesome!!!
"Bait and Switch"....perfect! My dad gave his life to the Church and all that goes with it missing out (by his own choices) on his children's lives...literally. He has even received the Sacrament of Holy Orders... the Church, KofC, etc...All left him hanging. He has such a broken heart. You can't get back time. He's actually out doing Communion to the shut -ins right now.. He's 83 and still serving Christ as he should in his role as a Deacon, but it's so sad to see what the diocese has done to him.
I think you might be missing the point in trying to compare animals and man and which deserve support. I am happy that Fr. Pagano understands. Remember, when God chose to destroy the world, he chose to save animals over man because they bring love and are important to our survival. For some people, pets may be the only living being that sustain them when they have lost family and/or friends.
What you said about "vir" and "virtude" instantly reminded me of a book I've studied. Its a literature masterpiece from Spanish "Middle Ages", called Amides de Gaula. It´s the greatest of Spanish chavallary tales, the main book of the kind Don Quixote used to read. Even if it looks like "just fiction", as some may say, Its full of teachings on virtude, christianity and it even mourns for the separation of Rome and Constatinopla. Anyways, in the begging, describing the main character´s dad (a great knight and king), narrator says (SXV ´s Spanish): " el cual, seyendo en la ley de la verdad, de mucha devoción y buenas maneras era acompañado". This could be translated (vía modern Spanish) into "whom, being in / following the way of truth, was accompanied by a lot of devotion and good manners". " being in / followingThe way of the truth" means he was Christian. So this means that, as he was a christian, he had devotion (AKA, gave God wat was his, followed the first commandments). And that devotion was not kept within his soul, but guided him to have good manners (AKA being kind and meek towards his neighbor). I think this description of this character is a very clear and simple way to show how virtud and good relationship to others are connected.
Jesus , The Disciples and The Saints all suffered for Christ why should we be the exception? I gladly take up my cross daily ❤is it hard? Yes Does satan like to rear his ugly head ? Everyday? But , it takes fasting, Rosary and Prayer and there are times I still fall and I go to confession so that on Judgment Day satan will be speechless 🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️

Since animals are loving, loyal members of the family just with fur I believe we see them again in Heaven. I don't see me as a saint and this new RCC push toward the saint requirement to make it to Heaven is pure hubris considering how far from the mark many bishops and priests are. I love being reminded about the Beatitudes and their meanings - thank you guys! I will definitely watch this program again. We should all be reminded of the Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes.
I'm not sure it would be heaven without my dog. (My grandfather, whose parents were from Ireland and who was devoutly Catholic, saw his dog as he was passing.) We're pretty sure that wasn't an illusion. 🤔
The white horse represents righteous warfare. In the Bible, horses represent war. Jesus is a powerful, spirit creature and wouldn’t literally be riding a horse. The Book of Revelation was presented in signs; It’s symbolic and not everything is literal.

I disagree with what you said about "poor in spirit". Many people take it to mean desolation, or like you described it as basically being so low you know how badly you need God. But that is not what I have been taught that it means. To be poor in spirit, "spiritually poor" its about detachment. I'm a Carmelite, and we teach heavily on spiritual detachment, learning from doctors of the Church Sts. John of thr Cross, Theresa of avila and Therese of Lisieux about the need to have no attachments in order to enter heaven. I think it is one of the #1 misunderstood things among Christians. John of the Cross gives a visual: a bird that is tethered, whether by a rope or a small string, it's flight will be hindered no matter the size of the attachment. The be spiritually poor is for the soul to relinquish all attachments to this world, to self, to one's will, to all things that are not God.
I really tried to listen to this because I was interested in the topic but you guys just got so ridiculous that after 26 minutes and 10 seconds, I couldn’t listen anymore, and had to turn it off. I still don’t know about the beatitudes and how they relate to us.
