Maybe i m wrong but in that corner his rpm was near red line so that s why he did a powerslide, which was sick btw

Gearing is also kinda long which will make it harder to powerslide tight corners in 2nd with a N/A engine. third gear 170kmh...

A much cheaper option is the N62B48. More powerful than the S54, but above all a LOT more torque. You can buy a wrecked E63/E64 650i for peanuts, though you have to search a bit to find a manual one.
The supercar formula BMW missed out on!!!! This must be a dream to drive! (coming from a S85b50 owner)
This is the car/engine combination I would like to have. Skip all the tasteless optics tough and keep the engine stock. Stroking it to 5.8L (Stroke 87mm) results in insane piston velocity of close to 24m/s and the conrod bearings struggle even in stock engine.
A insanely powerful, gloriously screaming V10 in a small roadster on a twisting mountain road. Emotion pur.
To be able to afford this though, you have to build it yourself.
Conrod bearing issue is related to tight tolerances and oil weight im pretty sure if they made the right amount of clearance it should be fine for when things get hot
@@EverybodySMD No. The forces the conrod bearings have to handle are a direct result of piston speed/mass. Piston speed is defined by rpm and stroke. As the latter is increased significantly, so is the load the bearings have to cope with.
Think of it as hitting a tank at 80mph vs 60mph. That's what happens at TDC when the piston stops instantly, i.e. all that force is put on the bearings.

Having owned a 2004 z4, 2008 Z4, and 2016 z4, I would say that the 2004 z4 was the most fun to drive and that was with the m54 engine.

I have a s54 powered Z4M and I adore it. It can get squirmy like this but I don't think doubling the power is necessary at all, it's already a hella fast car and a supercharger would cost so much less than this with similar results
So sick. Definitely sparked an interest in my imagination for the type of build I'd like to do in the future.

man the progression and stability on the autoban is mental, i have an e85 3.0i and the steering at high speed is horrible, swapped to an e46 hydraulic unit with little luck for improvement at high speed stability. What kind of rack is the manhart using? the original electic or an hydraulic one?
