How often should you reseal a mobile home roof?
Your metal roof needs a new coating every 2 To 3 years and touch-ups at frequent intervals, especially after storms have deposited debris or branches on the roof. To coat your roof, select a good quality roof coating.
I like hydro stop primer and top coat the best.
Coating you roof will save you thousands of dollars.
Roof Sealing and Roof Coating will also reflect the sun and there for lower your cost of electric.

Heck,I go 20 years of patching covered up last summer with your osb/epdm formula.I did the work myself, but it was still over 6 grand in material. That took me about 5 months of buying some stuff as I could afford it.This is my first winter in the wet northwest to have dry windows and a dry ceiling. Thanks for you vids

You are very welcome and I am so happy to hear that you was able to do your own roof. Yes it is expensive expensive people complain when I tell him $11,000 to do one of them roofs but but the materials are expensive.

I want to do this at some point cause the thickness of silver coat on our roof is a quarter inch thick its been flaking as well. I like this cause it fixes everything in one go and man that stuff must be a pain to get off the whole roof. I thought of using sheet metal before but didn't really know how I was gunna secure it so this is great to do it with the rubberized roof coat and the screws will last for sure.

I would never question your repairs. That patch metal looked pretty thin. I was thinking some aluminum gutter coil might work a bit better. It is quite a bit thicker. What do you think? Also, people are saying it needs a new roof. Yes it does, but you can only do what the customer can afford. Thanks for the video

She wants 2 or 3 yrs out the roof. She is going to do a new roof later. I gave her a price for new and repair price. She went repair. So I will repair it. She will get a few years out of it. Wait till we’re done. It will be fine

When you plug all of the sewer vents where does the sewer gas go?

Drew, what is the thickness of the sheet metal that you use on repairs like that? And what type of caulk to seal it all down?

    • @Drewsroofingandhomerepair

The sheet metal that I used on that was rather thin to be honest. I think your best bet would be to get what they call coil stock. It is made for facia metal on new homes. It’s white. It comes 2 foot wide by 50 foot long and it’s a little more sturdier than I used.

I use aluminum flashing and put paintable silicone over all of the flashing and on the steel area. No screws.
I put bricks on top for a week to cure. No separations so far.

Drew, it’s a shame what the economy is now. When people can’t afford much that is a shame. Where do you see it headed? Do you think a president change is going to make a difference? I went to the Dollar General yesterday and bought 2 bottles of salad dressing. $8. Now that should be criminal. I am going to have to grow my food and make salad dressing!

I could not agree more my friend everything has doubled in price I don’t see why people don’t realize it and yes, I do think that 24 should be a better year. If it all goes right I just wish he had eight more years instead of four.

Yes it does but she didn’t want to pay the $13,000 so we’re gonna do a repair. This should turn out OK and last a while.
