Enjoy the tinnie, very versatile platforms. I would add a chain or cable between the outboard and the transom support. Make sure there isn't any slack in the connection, so if you're unfortunate to have an outboard come loose, you won't lose it over the stern. Very cheap insurance.
To avoid galvanic corrosion of the aluminium, all mating surfaces and fastener threads should have a liberal coating of Duralac. I also insulate my trailer and motor from the hull.
Mate .. You ran your motor without the water pump in water .. Bad bad bad move .. If your going to run the motor you must have it in water ... And not use the no run flush system.. Best way to burn out your impeller.. You mechanic is correct.. Best to run carbi dry .. But I do it at the end of the fishing trip .. Before taking out of water ..
You can hear him say connect some water then run the carby dry of fuel. You can also hear water running and see it coming out the telltale while the engine is running
@@Carl223 Yes .. He connects the water but to the flush system .. That is used to flush the engine without running the engine.. If you start the engine the water pump is running dry .. And will burn out .. The house he connects just runs straight into the engine...
