I can't believe you just called the IR thing useless, you can literally play in the dark if you have ir light. They're pretty cheap, and one should be enough!
.... why would you need to play your quest in the dark.... eww, but that's neat, didn't think of that use case!
playing in the dark disables tracking you probably already knew that
@@gamingfizz1803 no?? The quest 2 can see ir light. The cameras do not differentiate. If you have ir lights and it's dark otherwise the quest will track perfectly fine!
(Source: I literally have an IR light I bought for like 20€ and it works perfectly fine)
@@NobuTechVR you can play outside when it turns dark and have a ton of space I did it last night! I didn’t even need to use the joystick.

Actually the headset detecting ir light is how it knows where your controller is. I found this out when me and my friend were playing on ours and the ring on his controllers looked like they had a bunch on lights on it in the pass-through camera.
