I could careless about bad luck prevention, some times having a slow down is good for a game. It took me a long time to get pestilence. I dreaded doing it, but it gave me a reason to queue up. Farming muts or scorpion isn't any different. Sometimes you get unlucky, but the payoff feels amazing.
It isnt because it take 500 dm to upgrade and you can only use 5 at a time. These things are making my play experince for the past week miserable. At least i found that yeti farm last night so i can get dark matter without wanting to flame pve players for being at crap at pve lol.

My biggest complaint about "balance" is that if you are a PvE ONLY person (like me), you are sick and tired of having Artifacts on the PvP track and if you want to combine trophies, you have to do more PvP. Another thing about Artifacts is that some of them are behind the dumbest locks. For example, Scorpions Sting once (or maybe 2 or 3) every 90 minutes, I've done it 50 times so far. Compare that 90 minute spawn to that of the bird that drops the light chest piece, which spawns every 30 seconds, and you REALLY see how dumb things are.
I play GA/WH bruiser and a solo Q most of the time. I get wins because I stand on the objective, mind blowing right? The 5 stack of muskets is running around outside of mid sniping people running down the road from spawn.
Well we all know the devs love to cream over Fire Staff. Their skills have 7-8 secs CD with high burst damage and a stackable dot ? Definitely balanced. They also have one of the best escape skills in the game oh and every single skill is an AOE. Melee CDs are 13 secs and up take too long to cast cos their cast animation is slow while FS casts are almost instant and their skills are literally spammables at this point. Seriously melee weapons need a huge buff but AGS won’t do it cos all they do is add more busted stuff to FS
I wish for progression drops. Like m2 lvl to get gear that helps vs X. Then you have X in bigger 2 to 4 group raids, where X comes into play. So you dont feel like its all a grind to get bis, instead its building up a team to overcome a raid. This is what brought me into mmo to begin with. Pvp is fine but groups working together is such a fun time. Even for pvp, makethe perks for it only drop from pvp loot. Then youll farm drops to build setups in like 3v3 and you could then have war for territories at intervals, giving advantage to gear based from pvp perks, which would make balance much easier as well.
Question for you Jay, if u know. When gathering artifacts (but not fully upgrading all), there is a problem to see the upgrade tasks for each artifact, even when you are wearing the item. You kinda need it to show in the artifact section of the objectives overview. But there can only be a max of 5 artifacts at a time. Even though you disable auto-pin (and have like 4 of the 5 spots taken), when you wear one item it will automagically just take up one of the spots even if you don't want to. And so if you THEN get another artifact, and want to see how to upgrade it through the normal tasks atleast, you kinda need to abandon one or more of the "pinned" artifacts that are one of the 5 you have in the list. Fine if you have not even started doing tasks, then abandoning is not a huge deal... But if all the artifacts you have in the list is kinda "semi-finished", you don't really want to abandon any of the artifact objectives.... We are not all able to fully do the tasks for the artifacts asap, AND upgrade at the kiln (lack of funds for example), and would be happy to slowly upgrade the artifacts, but still be able to use all attributes without the last objective at the kiln being done... That will come in due time... Do you know if there is a way to see all artifact objectives for a newly dropped artifact, that are not requiring you to slot it in your gear, then go into the objectives menu, abandon one of your current artifacts already there (max 5), and THEN be able to see all artifact quests to be able to atleast upgrade that artifact on all tasks outside the kiln part? I totally agree with the bad luck prevention. I’ve gotten pretty much everything easily so far. But sad to see some of my company members killing things 100s of times and struggling to get anything.
So for artifacts and the whole “you have to many active artifacts” message. Why does it still say that after I completed some artifacts? Does that mean that you can only have 3 completed? That you can only really use 5 artifacts and can never fully unlock all of them? That is very confusing
Sorry… what I noticed was once I killed all the things and upgraded it at the Gypsum thing and “completed” it. It still showed as one of the 5 artifact quests and couldn’t try to work on/upgrade a new one. Doesn’t lead me to believe or even it make sense to even have more than 5. If that is the expected result that is lame. Sounds way more fun to “unlock/upgrade” all of them. I know you can only really use 3 at a time, but it’s nice to know you can use different ones :( I hope this makes sense
They need to boost the trophy mat drops. The trophys aren't that good but you need it for crafting to 700. But I was farming them for months like 5 months ago and almost everyday and got like 2 thing. Thats bull. And now since the expansion been doing the old and the new chest runs and nothing. Not fun at all
The people who cry about scorpion sting are the same people who run away from a fight and keep distance with 5 con(ranged) or healers, both of which kinda deserves the mix up so they have to stay on their toes and stop hiding on the ramparts move around more and get active.
I’m 350 con and a BB with scorpion sting hit me for 80% of my hp with his combo. It’s overturned. BB is the issue scorpion sting is just annoying to be hit by.

It’s annoying that some weapons have 0ms delay between ability casting while most have strong delay between animations There are plenty of things to annoy people in most games. There are plenty of things in new world that need attention more than a spear that brings you into the fight, or more so brings the fight to you.
Exactly, the scorpion sting is great fun they better not nerf it. Just because you find it annoying doesn't mean everyone else has to suffer, find a way to counter it.
It took me 2 full weeks of playing 10-15 hours a day going to Scorpio every single night, staying the 30 minutes extra for the additional spawn chance, 100+ easily attempts in full luck gear/trophies in order to finally get Scorpions Sting. Being the 1-1000 player is truly awful.
I feel the bad luck prevention, I farmed for the rapier since launch, it took me 418 kills to finally get it to drop, my friend on the other hand leveled up to 65 and came with me and got it in 4 kills, feels bad
I understand blunderbuss is teetering on an edge but no other weapon can 100-0 people as easily and as fast as the blunderbuss can. It’s insane how dangerous it is to even get close to a BB user
It finally feels how it should play. If you stand still afk you will get one shot. But most people have more awareness than that. They better not nerf it because all the 100con dex npcs in outpost rush keep feeding bb players kills. Its rediculous atm. Sometimes half the lobby in delos opr is full of npc smooth brain bow players that judt stand outside the door stat padding until the get clapped. Like 1/3 of opr kills i should not be getting atm. I tell myself people will learn but i know people would rather cry nerf than adapt.

As a new return player, I think they should rework crafting. LVL-up professions are long, but it's ok, they give "journals", it's become easier. But to craft gear and not to waste resources I should buy or craft best 3 trophies and get all gear for one profession... it's annoying. Only when I collect all items, I can start crafting, before this moment profession is uselees.
The only thing they need to change to the Scorpion sting and blunder is the how long you are on the ground after javelin. You fix how long your stunned there and blunder-bus won’t need a fix neither will the scorpion sting. I don’t think blunder bud needs too much if you change that.
if they nerf the scorpion sting it essentially becomes useless.. it's only advantage is being able to pull ppl.. also i been in quite a few races and OPRs... can't tell you the number of times it failed and was blocked or "dodged"
The problem with scorp sting is that ppl abuse it by pairing it with BB to one shot close range… nerf bb instead since that’s the problem… scorp is fine, gives us a chance to counter some of those ranged players that keep hitting and running on the backline…
I agree completely. I really enjoy using Scorpion Sting, its been the most fun I have had with any of the weapons since launch, but I pair it with a Bow and I only play PvE, none the less I would hate to see such a unique perk get nerfed to the detriment of those who use it properly. 🍻

wouldn't being guaranteed to get a weapon drop lose the whole purpose of grinding and the feeling around accomplishments and luck. Gets boring if I am guaranteed it after 10 runs.
Not really, it depends how they do it. I don't see how it's fair someone could get them all very very quickly, while someone is farming portals still for the axe

Yeah I've done 100+ portals easy and no Abyss. Running 32% loot luck. Seen reddit threads of people having done 400 - so I figure I'm not that bad, but I dont think I could do 400 and not be pretty pissy. Bad luck prevention definitely needed.
Pseudo-RNG is absolutely necessary with Artifacts considering how critical they are to the game. I spent about 20 hours sitting killing the bloody mammoth to get my Finisher... not fun and completely redundant 'content'. Or - make them harder to get in the first place and guaranteed; like a quest chain with a challenging boss at the end (too late for that now) / farmable solo with quick respawns.
yea i mean i was one that was farming for Lifetaker the void gauntlet, on the first day, and it took my 2 days and 7hrs straight until it finally dropped. but then i got lucky with other artifacts, like the featherweight jacket, blood drinker both dropped first time for me and djinn got super easily didn't even realise, so yea i get some are hard and i never got the Sword from dynasty after running it 35 times. but the game is too easy to get everything in comparatively to other MMO's. it needs things that are harder to obtain.
I disagree that we need bad luck prevention, that is point of these low Chance items. If you don’t get it just keep trying, I know it is frustrating but if everyone gets everything easily then they get bored of the game much quicker. I can understand like a kill cap if you grind 100-150 times and don’t get it you get it automatically. But most of the time people will get well before then
people doing those runs all those times and not getting it, is perfect. everyone shouldnt be able to get everything, that makes it so cool for the ppl that have it

I got every single artifact that was avalible till that moment. But last week dungeons? None of them. I used all of my entrances and didnt get neither stopwatch or sword. Kinda sucks as I think Ankh is garbage without heals perk on armor adn the earring isnt really fitting my playstyle. Also flail healing buff will be interesting as I was abusing it on cleric build and my winrate in 3v3 arena was around 95%, I was just standing in my own heals and then heal even more with flail while having 100-250k damage each match. Only way I could lose was when I got really focused by 3x greataxe or firestaff in the fast burst, but that level of coordination did not happen often. There is a counterplay to this -just dont fight near enemy healer healing zones, pull him away, but thats really hard to do if he is also guarding his super bursty ranged teammate. As someone who went from track 20-65 playing only this I think it should get hard nerfed. Maybe it just needs healing reduction in the arena (not just flail but healers overall), idk
Its actually ridiculous how their own stats show that ranged weapons top all rankings for damage and win rates but they have no plans to nerf any of it 😂 lets nerf random melee instead like scorpion spear or abyss... who legitimately thinks abyss is op?? It barely deals more damage than a regular axe
if only 1 person get the legendary artifact in an expedition or open world every few times. in theory this create bad luck problem for certain people especially if you don't have your luck maxed out or just have bad luck/bug issue. either way if this is correct it could explain the entire problem.
Closing in on 300 scorpion sting farms. No drop, losing hope. Real downer to lock these on time gated bosses. I have work, family, can't sleep in my chair...

Yeah, right, nerf the hell out of the Scorpion's Sting because BB can 1-2-shot anyone. Are you serious? Then BB abusers will find another way or meta to stun and one-shot, such as vault kick - so let's remove this ability too. In any other combination, the Scorpion Sting is a well-balanced weapon. First of all, you have to be skilled enough to land the javelin, then you have to correctly guesstimate the spot where the enemy is pulled to, and finally you have to be quick enough to land a hit before your enemy dodges away from you. So yeah, nerf the spear and don't touch left-click spamming BB abusers.

Especially now when you can farm your own named item and change the final perk. Health isn’t the end all be all. Shirking heals isn’t either cuz it’s gonna get nerfed.
No. We don't agree on artifacts. Artifacts should be HARD to get. It's a unique item. One of a kind. Should be rare.What is it now? 10 people out of the thousands may not get it due to bad luck and so it must be boosted to guarantee them to get it? WHY? Other mmos have such items. You gather 60 ppl, all the ppl must have done a quest to get an item to be able to enter the boss. That quest takes hours. Then you go in, you kill the boss in hours and it really depends on how good your team is. The time can be lower or your team can't even kill it. THEN it's gonna drop 3 of that item. You decide who gets that 3 and after a week you can do it again and even those that received it going to be there in the next runs because that's how a team/clan or whatever works. Imagine this in new world.. And we are talking about a game that had way higher player numbers for way longer than nw ever..
I don't think artifacts should be hard to get....I mean for most people they aren't but some people are just unlucky and it's not their fault. Also if these were pure cosmetics like a mount skin or something I would say let it be hard and random
Rng is still terrible in this game and money making has gotten harder and getting the meterial has gotten expensive turns alot of player away from the game im a vet and i cant sit here everyday trying to farm enough gold to keep up with cooldowns while trying to complete other task to much going on and its easy to be overwhelmed
they need to make those story pieces of gear actually worth keeping... i have never used any of those pieces of gear in the long run... i think some harder quests w/ endgame rewards would be nice. @@jayoddity

This dlc is really rocky with prob 100 confirmed bugs and exploits was running myrk invis pvp flagged was like why don´t people atack me ore npc but i keep going and start looting elit and moved solo up like i normaly do did the first portal alone not hard when mobs don´t see you killd a few players and then i relogged don´t whant to abuse it. And for the artifact drops is jsut inscane last week uín dyn i got butcher i play sns so i was happy could not loot it got dc and 20 runs later up to cap on sunday i still havent got it it´s like the game thinks i have it. The other prob most enoying thing is you can only have 5 active artifacts and fetherwight i could not put enchanted ward in it. So massy this dlc. And crafting feels like it´s no value in it you can get it in open world and just upgrade gear jewery i mange 3 bis build now with out using crafting only gymson kiln.
I hate the fact people want this game anymore easier. No keep it difficult. The grind is real and fun. If you get what you want easily then I won’t grind. The faster you get boredom. M3 is at a good place. So is artifacts and gear.
Annoying but not OP it’s just a different tech, it doesn’t work on anyone with grit so it’s specifically useful against light mages healers and bow/musket
I think I missed some of the PvE Balance. Overall happy with PvE - One Rapier is very strong, more weapons used due to unique rends / weaken change.

Yes but when they are not bis such as bloodrinker or Thirst. Imagine they add more perks to choose from, that would be alot better.

Scorp sting in Influence Races is just ridiculous. The only thing I have seen that I think needs nerfing is the lifestaff in pvp.

As a new return player, I think they should rework crafting. LVL-up professions are long, but it's ok, they give "journals", it's become easier. But to craft gear and not to waste resources I should buy or craft best 3 trophies and get all gear for one profession... it's annoying. Only when I collect all items, I can start crafting, before this moment profession is uselees.
They have already given us the answer to Shirking Heals and Ankh. The Butcher.
You mentioned Pity System. Is when you have 100% chance to receive item when passing certai nthreshold
The only thing they need to change to the Scorpion sting and blunder is the how long you are on the ground after javelin. You fix how long your stunned there and blunder-bus won’t need a fix neither will the scorpion sting. I don’t think blunder bud needs too much if you change that.
if they nerf the scorpion sting it essentially becomes useless.. it's only advantage is being able to pull ppl.. also i been in quite a few races and OPRs... can't tell you the number of times it failed and was blocked or "dodged"
not really, its kind of overpowered if you get a guaranteed kill 100% of the time just from hitting someone with it
The problem with scorp sting is that ppl abuse it by pairing it with BB to one shot close range… nerf bb instead since that’s the problem… scorp is fine, gives us a chance to counter some of those ranged players that keep hitting and running on the backline…
I agree completely. I really enjoy using Scorpion Sting, its been the most fun I have had with any of the weapons since launch, but I pair it with a Bow and I only play PvE, none the less I would hate to see such a unique perk get nerfed to the detriment of those who use it properly. 🍻

For sure the The Healing in PVP still needs work, We had a 1v6 the other day and we could not kill the guy due to the self healing was crazy, and took over 3min to finally kill the guy

wouldn't being guaranteed to get a weapon drop lose the whole purpose of grinding and the feeling around accomplishments and luck. Gets boring if I am guaranteed it after 10 runs.
Not really, it depends how they do it. I don't see how it's fair someone could get them all very very quickly, while someone is farming portals still for the axe

Yeah I've done 100+ portals easy and no Abyss. Running 32% loot luck. Seen reddit threads of people having done 400 - so I figure I'm not that bad, but I dont think I could do 400 and not be pretty pissy. Bad luck prevention definitely needed.

A lot of damage in a very short amount of time
Pseudo-RNG is absolutely necessary with Artifacts considering how critical they are to the game. I spent about 20 hours sitting killing the bloody mammoth to get my Finisher... not fun and completely redundant 'content'. Or - make them harder to get in the first place and guaranteed; like a quest chain with a challenging boss at the end (too late for that now) / farmable solo with quick respawns.
I hope they keep disease applying on the other weapon when using Pestilence. Healers are too OP.
yea i mean i was one that was farming for Lifetaker the void gauntlet, on the first day, and it took my 2 days and 7hrs straight until it finally dropped. but then i got lucky with other artifacts, like the featherweight jacket, blood drinker both dropped first time for me and djinn got super easily didn't even realise, so yea i get some are hard and i never got the Sword from dynasty after running it 35 times. but the game is too easy to get everything in comparatively to other MMO's. it needs things that are harder to obtain.

I disagree that we need bad luck prevention, that is point of these low Chance items. If you don’t get it just keep trying, I know it is frustrating but if everyone gets everything easily then they get bored of the game much quicker. I can understand like a kill cap if you grind 100-150 times and don’t get it you get it automatically. But most of the time people will get well before then
people doing those runs all those times and not getting it, is perfect.

I got every single artifact that was avalible till that moment. But last week dungeons? None of them. I used all of my entrances and didnt get neither stopwatch or sword. Kinda sucks as I think Ankh is garbage without heals perk on armor adn the earring isnt really fitting my playstyle.
Also flail healing buff will be interesting as I was abusing it on cleric build and my winrate in 3v3 arena was around 95%, I was just standing in my own heals and then heal even more with flail while having 100-250k damage each match. Only way I could lose was when I got really focused by 3x greataxe or firestaff in the fast burst, but that level of coordination did not happen often.
There is a counterplay to this -just dont fight near enemy healer healing zones, pull him away, but thats really hard to do if he is also guarding his super bursty ranged teammate.
As someone who went from track 20-65 playing only this I think it should get hard nerfed. Maybe it just needs healing reduction in the arena (not just flail but healers overall), idk
Its actually ridiculous how their own stats show that ranged weapons top all rankings for damage and win rates but they have no plans to nerf any of it 😂 lets nerf random melee instead like scorpion spear or abyss... who legitimately thinks abyss is op?? It barely deals more damage than a regular axe

if only 1 person get the legendary artifact in an expedition or open world every few times. in theory this create bad luck problem for certain people especially if you don't have your luck maxed out or just have bad luck/bug issue. either way if this is correct it could explain the entire problem.

Closing in on 300 scorpion sting farms. No drop, losing hope. Real downer to lock these on time gated bosses. I have work, family, can't sleep in my chair...
It will drop eventually, don’t lose hope. That’s how I felt about abyss, over 300 major portals closed but it finally dropped for me.

Luck in new world is bizarre. I get named, legendary weapons, artifacts super easy. Rare stuff out of chest like trophy mats is almost never.

Please bad luck prevention ! 3.5 hours just farming featherweight over and over and over watching every other person come in well after me and get it after 3-5 pulls is total bullshit. A guildie has been farming the hammer from laz for a week straight still hasn't gotten it. Sucks.

Yeah, right, nerf the hell out of the Scorpion's Sting because BB can 1-2-shot anyone. Are you serious? Then BB abusers will find another way or meta to stun and one-shot, such as vault kick - so let's remove this ability too. In any other combination, the Scorpion Sting is a well-balanced weapon. First of all, you have to be skilled enough to land the javelin, then you have to correctly guesstimate the spot where the enemy is pulled to, and finally you have to be quick enough to land a hit before your enemy dodges away from you. So yeah, nerf the spear and don't touch left-click spamming BB abusers.

Makes for such boring builds. 2% health on all gear is also overrated and overpriced. There is no single item in this game worth the price people post it for like 10k for an insane earring is about the max anyone should ever pay. Especially now when you can farm your own named item and change the final perk. Health isn’t the end all be all. Shirking heals isn’t either cuz it’s gonna get nerfed.
I have good luck by runing luck gear whe farming artifacts. Bu7t M3 mutator is not easy with farmin ggear.

No. We don't agree on artifacts. Artifacts should be HARD to get. It's a unique item. One of a kind. Should be rare.What is it now? 10 people out of the thousands may not get it due to bad luck and so it must be boosted to guarantee them to get it? WHY? Other mmos have such items. You gather 60 ppl, all the ppl must have done a quest to get an item to be able to enter the boss. That quest takes hours. Then you go in, you kill the boss in hours and it really depends on how good your team is. The time can be lower or your team can't even kill it. THEN it's gonna drop 3 of that item. You decide who gets that 3 and after a week you can do it again and even those that received it going to be there in the next runs because that's how a team/clan or whatever works.
Imagine this in new world.. And we are talking about a game that had way higher player numbers for way longer than nw ever..
I don't think artifacts should be hard to get....I mean for most people they aren't but some people are just unlucky and it's not their fault.
Also if these were pure cosmetics like a mount skin or something I would say let it be hard and random

Rng is still terrible in this game and money making has gotten harder and getting the meterial has gotten expensive turns alot of player away from the game im a vet and i cant sit here everyday trying to farm enough gold to keep up with cooldowns while trying to complete other task to much going on and its easy to be overwhelmed

I got Scorp spear on first run. Though I did about 20 runs of Thorpe and never got the lost stopwatch.
i feel like the blunderbuss scorp sting isnt OP in pvp. people need to learn how to actually dodge attacks and the devs need to stop punishing creativity. also the bad luck prevention would be nice. i did tempest 25 times and didnt get gauntlets. feels super bad.
IMO they need to make drops more rare. Makes the grind special. Also regular gear should be more rare but BoE. RuneScape has the best drop system imo.

This dlc is really rocky with prob 100 confirmed bugs and exploits was running myrk invis pvp flagged was like why don´t people atack me ore npc but i keep going and start looting elit and moved solo up like i normaly do did the first portal alone not hard when mobs don´t see you killd a few players and then i relogged don´t whant to abuse it. And for the artifact drops is jsut inscane last week uín dyn i got butcher i play sns so i was happy could not loot it got dc and 20 runs later up to cap on sunday i still havent got it it´s like the game thinks i have it. The other prob most enoying thing is you can only have 5 active artifacts and fetherwight i could not put enchanted ward in it. So massy this dlc. And crafting feels like it´s no value in it you can get it in open world and just upgrade gear jewery i mange 3 bis build now with out using crafting only gymson kiln.
I hate the fact people want this game anymore easier. No keep it difficult. The grind is real and fun. If you get what you want easily then I won’t grind. The faster you get boredom. M3 is at a good place. So is artifacts and gear.
The devs are nutsacks, who don't understand mmo's... this will go back dormant in another 2 months.. :(

Annoying but not OP it’s just a different tech, it doesn’t work on anyone with grit so it’s specifically useful against light mages healers and bow/musket
