I have to say, and I’m very biased, because I was born and grew up in the Pacific Northwest, so this is a very personal take, but I really love the rain, it’s probably my favorite thing about living there, I find the sound of it very comforting, and I like how it makes the lighting everywhere different and reflective,and I don’t mind getting wet really. A lot of people hate that about here but I’ve lived places where it’s dry and I can’t stand it. every time I move out of state I just mourn living in a temperate rainforest
Live here for 30 years. Weather is terrible. It’s the lack of sun. Zero sun for weeks on end. I don’t know why you are downplaying.
Moved to Portland seven years ago. All around aweso me e place to live. For about 4 months it rains lightly or moderately for most or all of the day. Never a thunderstorm just light rain. Temps are moderate throughout winter. Snow depends on elevation more than anything else. Summers rock. Can get a few weeks or patches of extreme heat but so much of the year is between 50F and 70F . Perfect.
As a Bicycle Courior in Portland,I can attest the weather is Horrible.Fall and Winter are all one Season don't lie to people to sell property.

I agree. It's one long wet and gross fall. Then a nice summer for a few months.

It rains more than Seattle here.
It rains more than Seattle in Portland. Also most cities are ranier than Seattle (for example every city in the Midwest, Northeast and the South, all of them, look it up). Seattle is significantly cloudier than Portland though (and all those ranier cities).

@@lordmartin6168 accept it's one of the moldiest places and specifically Portland used to be a literal rainforest and was never a place many native peoples stayed except the summer months.The Willamette River Valley was called the Valley Of Mental Illness due to how dark and Moldy it always was the people said they couldn't keep their stuff from getting Moldy.The Willamette valley also has the highest Pollen , Allergen count out of any other place in the western United States
Lived there 26 years, actually loved the weather.
Nothing wrong with it because some people like it….but the weather is no joke.
July-October are beautiful. The weather is great and you can get out to enjoy life.
BUT….once November hits, you really have to prepare yourself to go 8 months without the sun and with daily rain or overcast. It’s brutal.
Personally, idk how people enjoy that but to each their own.
I lived here for 15 yrs idk how I pulled through tbh. We just got back from a Florida trip and the depression is hitting hard again. Deff looking into moving next year.
Yes the weather does suck but it's not as bad as the Inland parts of Florida and the South. Go to Orlando between May and October and then come and complain about the Portland weather.
My dad said over 50 yrs ago, Oregon is the asshole of the world, he was correct. Hard to believe we are right above Cali, and they have such good weather. I should have moved out of Oregon at least 40 yrs ago.

I don’t know why people don’t like that weather I’d love to live there ❤🥺🌨☁️😁I love the rain and cloudy weather I live in Texas 😑Austin especially and it’s so damn hot here 🥵🙄always goes up to 100 degrees or more and it’s so humid and always sunny 🌞 outside so I indeed will love to live there hot weather sucks you’re sweating all time it’s annoying it’s just my preference the rain and cold gloomy weather sorry y’all ☺️😊😌
hahaha Im the same, I live in Austin as well and I would do anything to swap the heat for the rain. I love cloudy days but there is not enough here even in the winter. The heat is unbearable in the summer and it's always sunny here. Portland seems like a perfect place for me to live.
