  • In this 3 day workshop, students will be taught how to make bi-clad metal sheets out of copper and Sterling Silver. Students will learn how to use a specific type of torch flame to get the metals to successfully bond together. Students then will have the opportunity to use PNP paper and a Teflon griddle to apply an image resist on to the metal sheet. These will be etched through the copper to the silver leaving the design in the copper. The bi-clad laminate can then be used to create future works of art.
There are innumerable ways to use these bi-metal laminate sheets to make your metalsmithing stand out from everyone else's. It is a unique way to add pizzazz to your creations. You can put any design on them that you want-- out of a design book, or out of your head!
For over two decades, Carol Webb has been known in the Metalsmithing field for her extensive experimentation and jewelry work with bi-clad metal laminates. She has developed this technique into a unique art form.
Carol has been featured several times in Lapidary Journal, Metalsmith Magazine, Ornament Magazine, American Craft Magazine, and American Jewelry Manufacturer. She is featured in The Metalsmith’s Book of Boxes and Lockets by Tim McCreight for her extraordinary works of art!
