  • Is White Sands National Park in New Mexico worth the visit?
The short answer is: YES! White Sands National Park was every bit as magical as I thought it'd be. It's one a few places that I built up in my mind that actually lived up to my expectations. And although it's in the middle of nowhere, and you will most certainly be making a big detour to see it, it is worth it! Follow along as I complete 5 things I want to do in White Sands National Park, and other things to do in the area, including staying in the cutest Airbnb, brunch at a cute and delicious cafe, a day hike and a beautiful spot to see the sunset.

Really awesome. I’ve been to White Sands National Park in New Mexico so many times and I absolutely love it. It’s fun to run around and slide down on the dunes of sand. And I am also really fascinated by the ancient history of this land thousands of years ago and the animals that lived out there. I even enjoy identifying the tracks that animals leave behind in the sand. I hope you had fun. Great video. 👍👍👍👍👍

Hello there. Thank you for sharing this video. I will be doing a solo road trip next week and plan to visit White Sands. Your footage is stunning and I love the background music you chose. Can you please tell me where in the park that was? (05:10 to 07:00). Which parking lot? I would appreciate your help. Warm regards, Sandee

  • @AnastaziaValvaine

Strictly speaking, this is not sand, it is almost 99% pure gypsum. I wouldn't hop around there for too long and enjoy the lifestyle, because only 50 miles away the first atomic bomb tests took place (Trinyty, and another 2) not really what i would call a "healthy environment". I wouldn't take this lightly as you know thousands of people in this area (200 miles radius) have died of cancer, leukemia etc. in later years. Among others a famous western hero: John Wayne. I bought a Geiger meter from the military for cheap in the early 2000s. and it is precisely in this area that the needle sometimes jumps strongly upwards. Everywhere today still small towns in the area. Allegedly everything "harmless" according to the government. and yaa, and pigs might fly
Of course you can watch it. But don't stay in this environment for too long. If you don't believe me, forget what I say. Maybe I'm one of those countless conspiracy theorists. But my geiger counter doesn't lie. And I trust that more than I trust the government or youtube...
and please save your answers. I trust scientists more like this platform here. I quote an original scientific statement: "Terrain and wind caused radioactive "hot spots". Farmers observed mealy fallout for 5 to 6 days. Local residents within a radius of about 40 miles used rainwater for drinking water. There were no warnings to residents, no information about protection options or any evacuations." (Quote Ends) Statement of a current scientist: "To date, the measurement data of this field test have not been rigorously evaluated, dose exposure of the affected public through air, water and food contamination could not even begin to be determined."
So please refrain from malicious answers, I only mean well with you. I know that many people no longer think about it when they want to visit a national park and still drag their children with them (who are particularly sensitive). It is also not meant as an attack or criticism of the uploader! It's just a warning on my part, because I think the government has been careless about it to this day. Thanks for reading, stay healthy!
