great job recreating a natural desert area and seeing how happy pearl is in this enviroment is an inspiration to all us robo owners . i have about a third of my robo's enclosure as sand and now seeing your video i am going to make the sand area larger , around half the cage .
This is very good inspiration for Robo owners! I have Syrian, but I plan Robo in the future and for sure I will come for your channel to have some ideas
Hello 😊 I discovered your channel today and I’m feeling there is still hope for me. I’m saying this because I have a robo for the first time, and I don’t know if I’m going to be able to create a connection. He just wants to escape 😩 Can you tell me where did you buy the sand and what type of sand it is? And also if with the sand I don’t need to put another place with diferente material to be like a bathroom? And another question, I use softwood shavings and they say that is dust- free but I’m not shore. The name of the brand it’s chipsi and it comes with the smell of lemon or strawberry. Sorry for the long text, I just subscribe your channel, I love your videos, they are helping me a lot in this complex world of hamsters. They are small but to creat a good place for them to be happy is very complex. Oh I forgot, where is your terrario/ cage from? 😅 Kisses ❤
Hello! Thank you so much for joining the channel and for your comment. Please don't worry about making a connection if your robo is new. It took mine a good couple of months to settle in before I even started trying to bond with her. I think this is important to not rush anything so they are familiar with their surroundings first. Give it time and don't force anything like trying to pick him up yet, unless he willingly climbs into your hand for food. You say he wants to escape - if he looks like he is repeatedly running around the enclosure and up the sides of the enclosure, this could be a sign he is unsettled. If he is digging a lot at the corners, it could be that he wants to burrow but hasn't got the depth of bedding to do so. There are a few things that it would be good to know before I can make any suggestions. What size is your enclosure? How deep is your bedding? What kind of wheel do you have? Personally, I don't like the scented bedding for robos. It could even be making him anxious as the smell to him will be very overwhelming and far stronger than it is to us humans. I would recommend replacing this with something like natural carefresh bedding or kaytee clean and cosy. My Dad and I made the enclosure that Pearl is in and sell them: www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1436278615/formaldehyde-free-wood-pet-safe?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=polarisanimals&ref=sr_gallery-1-2&organic_search_click=1 The pictures may help you plan your own. The sand is desert white reptisand and I bought it from amazon. In this video, I talk about all the things you need for a robo: th-cam.com/video/DMscnxmQ2Xs/w-d-xo.html I'm really glad you find the channel helpful. 🥰
