Col. Larry Fuller grew up in eastern Kentucky and went to Phelps Elementary School, later he went to Phelps High School before quitting and moving to Columbus, Ohio.
Fuller moved back to Kentucky in the early '70s and for the next 17 years worked underground in the McCoy-Elkhorn and Chisholm coal mines. Then one day while working in a mine, Fuller injured his back and had to quit. "After I got to where I could get around again, I started singing again and traveling," he said. "I moved to Irvine, Kentucky, and later to Richmond, Kentucky.
Fuller died on September 22, 2007 after his tour bus caught on fire as it sat in the driveway of Fuller's Richmond home. He was 58.

Lost my Dad on July 30, 2024 he went into the hospital on July 22, 2024 just two days after his and Mom's 61st wedding anniversary. Dad turned 80 yrs old on February 16, 2024. These 3 weeks has been hard without him. He had cancer that was metastatic melanoma in his lung and liver. It's so hard for Mom but I don't say much but I told him it was ok to go to sleep because he was tired but he lasted more days. After he passed I went to the hospital and rubbed his head. I lost it but I had to say something even though he was gone. I said Dad you were the best Dad we could have ever asked for. Plus a few other words it hurts not having him here with us. Keeping his memories alive is all we can do. We would do things together throughout the yrs. All the trips we had together and we were planning on taking him to the beach in September. Love You Dad
