Lost my Dad on July 30, 2024 he went into the hospital on July 22, 2024 just two days after his and Mom's 61st wedding anniversary. Dad turned 80 yrs old on February 16, 2024. These 3 weeks has been hard without him. He had cancer that was metastatic melanoma in his lung and liver. It's so hard for Mom but I don't say much but I told him it was ok to go to sleep because he was tired but he lasted more days. After he passed I went to the hospital and rubbed his head. I lost it but I had to say something even though he was gone. I said Dad you were the best Dad we could have ever asked for. Plus a few other words it hurts not having him here with us. Keeping his memories alive is all we can do. We would do things together throughout the yrs. All the trips we had together and we were planning on taking him to the beach in September. Love You Dad

Dear friends in Christ, please pray for me and the children

I would give up my life now to have one more day with my family in the hills of eastern Kentucky

Larry was my friend. I worked with him in the mines. His mother and my wife were great friends. His passing was a loss to true bluegrass music. Will remember his smile and hopes.

My dad would record this song and he would play it back to me and I'd write it down for him and he learned how to play it then him and mom sang it in church to this day I can hear my parents singing this song Lord it's just another hill I'm climbing . This song hits me hard...I grew up in the 90s but we lived in the old ways the house he described was just like the one I grew up in, one thing I'll always remember is that out old outhouse was 500ft to close in summer but 500ft to far away in winter!! Was hard times but much more simpler, I'd sure love to go back there...sadly it burnt down...I recently went by it and saw that it finally collapsed...sure makes me sad but I praise God for the days he did give me there.
