Why does Drew practically sits on her guests lap? It's so distracting, imagine the guests. Regarding Patti Lupone, she nailed the part of EVITA!!! My all time favorite Broadway musical.
Evita Broadway my favorite musical. Patti in Evita incredible! I will also say the same about Madonna in the Evita movie version absolutely amazing performance.
No. You really don’t have to. I cannot deny her talent but in interviews she really comes off as extremely bitter, arrogant and ungrateful. Especially towards those who made her a “star”. What she said about Hal Prince after his death was absolutely appalling.
Is Drew unaware how awkward it is the way she places herself and her guests? Martha Stewart did it right, back off. Everything seems like some DEEP therapy session, not for the guests, but for Drew. I'm sure her heart is in the right place, but... c'mon. Producers... Say something.
I saw Patti Lupone in Evita. She was spectacular and captured Evita’s essence. The movie version was bland. The conflict between Che and Evita including the white hot conflict was missing. The keys were lowered for Madonna and basically the movie was what appeared to be a nice lady doing good for the poor and having a wonderful wardrobe.
@@acnyc12NYC i think Madonna thought that she was playing Princess Diana instead of Eva Peron. And she could not handle that score. Lowering the keys made the music so underwhelming in an already turgid film.
Patti said Madonna's Evita was trash and "she couldn't act her way out of a paper bag". LuPone met Madonna once in the elevator. Madge just smirked and said "See? I'm taller than you." Patti was speechless.
Its almost amusing to see how much space Madonna occupies in the mind of a frustrated scorned critic. What truly delights me, though, is the fact that the creative visionaries behind "Evita" Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice, and Alan Parker all recognized that only Madonna could authentically embody the iconic Eva Perón. They made a deliberate choice, and it was the right one. As Eva herself would have also approved. Many seem to overlook this context, focusing instead on a disgruntled woman's complaints. It's worth noting that you don’t hear legends like Meryl Streep or Michelle Pfeiffer lamenting over missing out on the role of Evita, even though they were also contenders. I get she comes from that old world where women hated women as much as the men, still lingering today.

Hello, how do you achieve such biweekly returns? As a single parent i haven't been able to get my own house due to financial struggles, but my faith in God remains strong.

Well...the music is kinda written that way. Madonna sucks all the drama out of it. Although, granted a performance like Lupone's would be too big for film
I know she hates madonna and loves to trash her publicly, but Madonna was great in it and what everyone is not saying is she does not have the face for cinema..stick with Broadway where space and makeup does wonders
She loves to hate Madonna but what really kills her is the blessing and decision of Andrew LLoyd Weber as well as Tim Rice and Allan Parker all knowing only Madonna could bring Eva to life. As I will always most famously remember Patty is for her hate of Madonna and not much else.
Never cared for Patti LuPone. She is one of the most self-centered, selfish performers on the planet. She ruined "Life Goes On" with her backstage, diva attitude. Mia Farrow is the opposite. A well liked, superior performer unlike PL.
Come on now, Madonna is an icon and a fantastic performer, but she's not the best actress. Madonna could've never performed that role on stage like Patti did.
I have to disagree. She couldn’t even sing it in the correct keys. They had to be lowered for her making the music underwhelming. She had two years to learn to sing that score and still couldn’t pull it off. She brought absolutely nothing to the role of Evita as an actress. You felt neither sympathy nor hostility for the character, her performance was that boring. Madonna was trying to play Princess Diana more than she was Eva Peron.
Patti gazes at Mia like she's ready to risk it all
My two favorite ladies 🖤✨makes me so happy to know they’ve been friends for 30 years.
I had never heard of Evita Peron until Patti or the Broadway show… I saw her in it 4 times..🥰
Patty Lupone is so captivating and charming and talented ❤❤❤😊
Patti casually trying to maintain her personal space... I love you, Drew, but back up! lol

You have to love patti lupone
Also who sings like that at her age? one of the best Broadway actress es
I'm one who cannot stand her

@@musicalmagpie741I personally don’t see the talent. Her lack of diction really ruins it for me personally
@ I see your point.
The full interview of this please! 🥺🥺🥺🥺

She's obviously friends with Patti and Patti didn't seem uncomfortable. BELIEVE ME, If Patti didn't want you touching her, SHE WOULD LET YOU KNOW! 😆

Only Madonna could have played Eva Peron as authentic as she did as the creative forces behind Evita also agreed as does also this Argentinian.

I cackled when they zoomed in at the lady crying in the audience. They did her dirty, exposing her like that. 😂
When she was talking about baying at the moon? It does sound a little crazy
Yeah, that’d be me, and I’m a 52 year-old man.
Lady laughing in the audience I feel you 💀💀 because it sounds like they sacrifice ppl at this full moon or some devil worshipping 💀😭😭 I love them tho
I love Madonna. But her Evita was terrible.
Relateable 🙄

I don't think anyone takes the criticism that Madonna
Mia surrounds herself with men like Woody and Stephen who don’t check IDs and I’ll say no more
Madonna was AMAZING as Evita!
Isn't she just full of herself!
❤Madonna was FANTASTIC Evita. ❤

Big thanks to Mrs Kate Elizabeth Becherer❤️❤️
Her top notch guidance and expertise on digital market changed the game for me
And to think that I started with the sum of $11,500 remains a miracle
Andrew Lloyd Weber himself said Madonna is the definitive Evita.
maybe he should be a comedian instead of a composer because that’s hilarious

I definitely preferred Madonna as Evita. There was no subtlety or tenderness to Patti's performance. It was very histrionic.

That’s how the original is written. They changed the keys for Madonna.
OMG
@@bobbybubby7977yep, and change the arrangement. They really simplified the music for Madonna
What?! Madonna was dead behind the eyes why do you think she didn’t make other film appearances she killed that movie 🤣

Madonna IS Evita!

No, Madonna is Frida Kahlo reincarnated, but I really cannot imagine Madonna as Frida.

Much preferred QUEEN MADONNA AS EVITA..she brought..depth, heart and layers of vulnerability as well as strength to the role..Patti just WAILED!
Lmao couldnt be further fromt he truth.
Agreed. Patti sounded like a dog on heat screaming her way through Evita. Great voice but over acted. Madonna made Eva Peron human.
I thought Patti was awful as Evita.
Patti is just awful...period!
Elaine Page was superior.
Madonna was better as Evita. Less OTT
I like to kiss drew
Drew is looking really old!
I prefer Melissa Peterman from Person, Place or Thing these day. She is more real, open and funny.
Mia Farrow is so strange…
The hair and the plastic surgery.:)
so full of herself...two choices... 🤔 like Mia
this Patti woman does not seem nice, I read auras and something is telling me she is awful!
Madonna did it better. Period!

Anyone with basic acting knowledge knows she didn't, and that's ok. Madonna is still the queen of pop.
Madonna was AMAZING as Evita!
