@@sergioneto4639 Ignore Strode guys, he's been going around a bunch of videos slandering Patty. Likely a failed singer themselves, filled with bitter spite. =(
She's so beautiful. Honestly. She's such a classy woman and an inspiration for any actor in the theatre. She's so talented and just amazing. I hope she does another Broadway show soon. I want to see her.
Love you Patti! I've seen, I think, every Broadway musical you've ever been in! Yes I have my faves....Anything Goes!!! Is Broadway EVER coming back??? I don't know if I'm alone in this, but I'm afraid to go to to New York because I feel unsafe. I used to go a few days before Thanksgiving and stay until the 2nd week of December. Catch up on the shows, do my shopping and have it sent, and then come home for Christmas. Can't do it anymore because it seems to be too dangerous. Any thoughts?
A great expression "Movers and shakers".Patti you are certainly in there.Of course weather it may be addmitted or no,Evita (the real) tops the list. You did her with 'GUSTO'.VIVA all the way around.Fromm listening to your comments on Eva,Yeah! You would have liked to have known her.GULP Gee what a comment from a retired shrink. All the best.
Is whatbshe said about a mother encouraging her daughter a little harsh?? If the daughter really eants to isn't there a way gor her to develop talent if she doesn't appear to have any??
In one interview Patti made the comment that as a result of her playing Evita on broadway people started refering to her as the "blonde bitch".The fact is that Eva Peron was anything but a bitch.I know this because my parents and I worked for the Senora and we lived at Unzue therefor we were close to the Perons who we saw just about every day. When she became very ill she was taken to Olivos where there was more privacy and there she passed away.
Edward Serow, the real Eva could be a bitch. Lillian Guardo, who also knew the first lady and actually accompanied her to Europe, said that Evita could be very harsh with people, especially when they didn't respond the way she expected. Since you claim that you and your parents worked for her, you probably worshipped her and treated her like a goddess. But those who didn't and especially the aristocracy and military were the objects of her ire. In short, Eva Peron was nice to the poor/workers because they worshiped her and were the source of her and Peron's power. But she was a bitch to anyone who crossed her or dared to oppose her. In 1951 when the railway workers threatened a nationwide strike, she went to meet with them and threatened them with all kinds of punishments and consequences should they strike, which they did end up doing and many of them were imprisoned and tortured.
There isn't the slightest shred of evidence Eva Peron had anyone tortured. The few that were tortured during the first Peronist period were done so by the police - file that one under police brutality like it happens everywhere ... linking it to Evita is nonsense and only the Anti-Evita crowds, yellow journalists and those who have a bone to pick with Eva Peron hold her personally responsible as they do with all the ills of Argentina. Her power had its limits and she did not run the country. Even Mary Main admitted "there is no proof". Anyhow, yes Eva could be a bitch to many ... but so be it, name me a politician, male or female who is not cut-throat. Anyhow, love Patti and her portrayal of Eva Peron. Hands down, she is the best ever stage Evita.
the fact that she addressed each person that asked the question before she answered yes thats a quality human being
It's the sign of a control freak who feels she is superior to anyone else.
Strode #4278 is it ?
@@Strode78 what? how calling someone by their name translates to being a control freak?

***** She is related to Adelina Patti. Adelina was LuPone's great-grandaunt.
She is, on her mother's side, whose maiden name was Patti.
"I would love to work with Alan Rickman"

Patti LuPone looks like Caroline Manzo from "The Real Housewives Of New Jersey".
During the "Who are you dying to work with" segment she was obviously reading cue cards.

Lol Yellow Diamond being nervous about Steven being in the audience (oh and Shakespeare, she would be a great Beatrice in Much ado about Nothing).

But the Eva of the musical, and in particular in the original Broadway production with Patti, was quite the bitch.
