This Game Was Meant To Be The Elder Scrolls Killer...

  • After releasing in 2006, Oblivion was seen as an unstoppable force, a game that truly deserved to be on top - But in 2007, a game would be released that would attempt to correct that. That game is Two Worlds... and its interesting.
    Two Worlds is, in my opinion, a really fun game that I could spend endless hours playing, but its not a well-made game. There's tonnes of bugs, graphical issues, story plotholes and even some bad Voice acting. But it's a game thats dear to me, so I wanted to show it off.
    DONT WORRY, more Fallout 4 with only Tiles videos are coming soon, along with a few other challenges sprinkled in. Enjoy.

      I really like how the games during the 200x's let you get kinda weird and crazy unbalanced and even a little silly, but in a somewhat INTENTIONAL way. Morrowind and Oblivion stacking speed and acrobatics and such and leaping over an entire castle's defenses or sneaking at 200mph so that even if you're bad at sneaking they can't catch you 'cause you're not even there any more, or making spells in Two Worlds that are utterly nonsensical but super fun.
      I feel like balance and polish in games after that era significantly cut down on this wild west feel, which isn't all bad, but a lot of games you can't get quite as crazy.

I have played many games, Two Worlds is in my top 5 favorite open world RPGs of all time. It is actually a huge game that allows you to become as powerful as you want, taking 100+ hours of gameplay to complete it. I found this game more compelling than Oblivion which, let's face it, gets somewhat repetitive. Oblivion without mods is completely level-scaled in terms of creatures and items, so you hardly ever find anything interesting never mind where you go. Two Worlds is more like Morrowind, where different regions have a range of enemies, gradually getting tougher as you go further off the beaten track. That's way more fun for an open world game because you're constantly testing exploring new areas to see if you're tough enough to kill something and get its loot, which is likely better than what you have. Exploring the map becomes the game, and the main quest is something you do when you finally want to finish the game.

    I remember this game fondly. At first I was off put by it and never really gave it a chance. Fast forward some time later and I started playing the multiplayer and that's where I absolutely fell in love with it.
    We would level up traps (Which by far are the most OP thing) and kill entire towns to get xp and loot.
    Then we would put down these like glowing root things that spawn enemies. Just fill the area with traps to sit back and farm the goodies. Such a swell time.
    You would take those parts and just make a SHIT TON of perma stat increase potions. Got to godhood pretty quick.

    • @kiwialforde9913
      @kiwialforde9913 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The glowing roots were called Shoots of Taint, and they spawned undead every night at an interval, I believe. They were so busted farmable, it genuinely made half the game so easy, and you could get them as fast as like, 10 minutes in, if you wanted. Notable items are Zombie Thyroids, a really cheap and effective poison-negation item that only boosts farming further. Another decent item would be Ghoul Brains, which increased Willpower. Heading to the Enclave and getting the Alchemy skill levelled up only enchances the fruits of your labors-- and depending on your level, zombies can potentially drop spells and other items, allowing for some serious money farming.
      I love this game, it's so dumb 😂

    A very common comment made a about the elder scrolls series is that it can be very hard to go back to an earler entry into the series, especially if you had not played the earlier games before. As someone who hasn't actually played oblivion or two worlds the games look very similar yet...... "unique" in their own ways.
    That being said this game gives me Gothic vibes and if you can wrap your head around the controls it's acrually a pretty good game. The game came out before WASD were the standard movement settings for games and 95% of the controls are on the left ⅓ of the keyboard, I wish anyone that decides to try it luck.

    One of the first games I played is called Dungeon Lords and I was somewhat reminded of it while watching you play Two Worlds and playing it myself. I have played two different versions of Dungeon Lords and they are the Steam edition and the Collectors edition. The first one I played was the Collectors edition and I think I played that in like 2006 or 2007 and for the steam version I played that in 2021. While writing this I looked and saw that it was basically re-released four separate times with various changes which is wild. I think it is an interesting experience like Two Worlds. One of my favorite parts is the class system where you have to choose your starting class and then later you can do quests to get more classes that are influenced by your choices of class. An example from the game banshee site is "if you make your character a Fighter-Adept, then for Tier 2 you could advance to Knight (Fighter upgrade), Celestial (Adept upgrade), Paladin (hybrid), Samurai (Fighter Dojo), Monk (Adept Dojo), or Enchantress or Valkyrie (Sisterhood). Your Tier 3 class would then be a direct upgrade of one of your Tier 2 classes: Lord (Fighter), Stargazer (Celestial), Crusader (hybrid), Warlord (Fighter Dojo), Dragonlord (Adept Dojo), or War Angel (Sisterhood)". I don't know if you will play it or not, but if you read this far thank you for reading my comment
