Bernie Marsden made such deep contributions to Whitesnake. I loved his bluesy style and saddened by his passing. His music will live on through all of us.
Great, but Richie is Richie Blackmore ❤
UFO probably expedited his death
This drummer have never outplayed by the later ones. They seem to struggle with how it is suppose to be played
To the bass player, bravo sir. I’m an old rocker and music lover. This is the finest bit of bass I’ve ever heard. I miss how the world used to be.
Neil Murray, if i'm not wrong...
@@flaviuteodorescu4916Indeed it is.
Great observation, Mr Neil Murray totally nailed this gig!
and he's loving it too and it shows!😀
What a great track!! Thee whole album is fantastic in fact! 1980 was a great year, "Ready An' Willing", "Back In Black", the first Maiden album, "Ace Of Spades", "British Steel" and others. My God, what happened to music?!
as i understand you...:-(
it went down the toilet fast never to return.
It just came and went. Enjoyed it while it was here. I’m sure you miss it as much as I do.
Dont forget heaven and hell
Died
Man i miss when heavy music was this tuneful and melodic. Great music never ages ✌✌
yes, sir. this tune could be performed voice/accoustic guitar in a splendid way
Tuneful and Melodic. These were the words I always sought to describe "GREAT" music. Thank you.
Exactly! Hard rock was melodic, metal nah. You could sing along with songs. Hard rock forever!
This is blues rock, not metal...
@@M1tjakaramazov I didn't say this was metal..
This will go down as the best Whitesnake line-up ever. No hair spray, glam..100% music.
MAN rock
I agree. Steve Vai scares me as well.
@@eriklarson9137 Steve Vai?
They were once a hard rock band before they became a hair metal band.
David Coverdale, Ian Paice, Jon Lord are pure rock legends.
The best drummer of all time. Lord is brilliant too.
Well half of this band is Deep Purple.
Bernie Marsden, Niel Murrey, Mickey Moody are at least not very far from them. They did this beautiful music too. Don't forget it. Great respect to these guys too.
And JOHN SYKES!! GREAT PLAYER@@MS4View
Who is still listening to this great song in 2023?
2024
I freaking do!
Fuck yeah!!!
2024 из России с любовью 🔥🤘💓
Damned right I am! 🤘
Damn, Ian Paice’s drum is so good here. The whole band is incredible. This is my kind of rock.
Rest easy Bernie. Thank you for all the wonderful music. 🎸 ❤😢
Rest in Music BERNIE, thanks for your music, what a great guitar player and composer!!!!
Original and in my opinion the best line up of whitesnake
Easily
Definitely. I enjoyed the band with Mel Galley and Cozy Powell also but this just rocks.
Not to mention Jon Lord who joined Whitesnake in 1978 and coloured band's sound with his Hammond organ magic. ❤
Listen that that percussive bass line. It really drives this song and isn't lost in the guitar mix.
RIP Bernie Marsden. Brilliant songwriter and guitarist.
Marsden and Moody - what a sound. Saw Whitesnake at Donnington in early 80s more than once, blew the sky off. Truly epic. DC knows how to do it, always has.
I was there, and you're right.
True, but let's not forget the other M- Murray!
First Rock Album I bought…blew me away! Such a great song and album…doesn’t get much better than this, even now in 2024 🤘
Honestly, I think this is the best thing Whitesnake ever did. Really good song and great performance. And David's voice never sounded better.
Outlaw and Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City are also very good tracks.
The best Whitesnake had Ian Paice and Jon Lord in the lineup.
That's the real Hard n' Blues sound originally proposed by the band.
The albums with Sykes were great but they parted ways with its predecessors.
Whitesnake 1988-1991 was a joke, so much that Coverdale gave up and sacked everybody.
LMAO
Totally agree.Loved it from when I was a kid when it came out!
@@gustavomarques4097 That may be true but personally Sailing Ships is my fav song they did.
those basslines are up there with Steve Harris.
"Proper" Whitesnake, with their best ever lineup.

@@henryh.3988 ....rechtschreibung ist nicht so deines......??? 1987 und slip of the tonque 💪💪💪👍👍👍👍
I dunno, this has some serious old man 70s vibes. The upgrade with Sykes n Cozy, combined with Neil (great bass playing on this track), and Coverdale singing in his natural voice....that's the Slide It In record....He couldnt hang wit Sykes on 87....
@@gunslinger19018 cozy was no ian paice

RIP Bernie Marsden (May 7, 1951 - August 24, 2023), aged 72
You will be remembered as a legend.
THE BEST Whitesnake lineup. RIP Bernie Marsden😢
R.i.p. Bernie Marsden, thank you for the wonderful music you have given us! ❤
People die but this music will never die! RIP Bernie Marsden!
Not so many singers are so powerful! This man is one of those who you want to look at them the whole time they perform! Awesome guy!
David had the whole package.
Correct@@johnsmith-ug5tp
Blues-rock doesn't get any more melodic and brilliant than this. What a great voice Coverdale has. The whole band is terrific and the guitar solo is one of my all time favourites.
I love this man!David, you are God!
Уникальный фронтмэн! То ли песни растворяются в нем, то ли он в песнях. Красивейший голос! ❤
I love the later glam metal version, but the bass and soul of this version are pure musical perfection!
Master bass lines by Neil Murray.
is the bass a little distracting in this one though? Its amazing, but whenever I listen to this version I only really listen to the bass and nothing else!
@@briancunningham9037 It's certainly prominent in the mix, but works nevertheless.
I guess because it's so busy it stands out as either way.
Love this classic, original version.
I love it too , the song and the depth!
The glam/hair/poser band Fool For Your Loving was disgrace, something you would expect from Spinal Tap or Steel Panther or other joke metal bands
Rest in peace Bernie! Total guitar legend from Shaz in the uk.
Years ago when I just started working, Whitesnake was already a household name in rock folklore. Egos aside with major descendants of Deep Purple with Coverdale at lead vocals, Marsden or Moody on lead guitar, the irreplaceable Lord on keyboard and Paice on drums. Long after geeks and commercial shit like Bieber, Beyonce, JayZ, Snoop Dog, etc. are dead, buried and forgotten, rock groups like Whitesnake will still reverberate in the echoes of time. Quality songs require quality thinking with strong souls and heart. Long live rock and roll and Whitesnake !
Justin Beiber is no good
Justin(Beaver) Beiber classified as garbage
Yeah, but Coverdale descended into soft cock rock by reworking some of his own songs that way contributing to the death of Hard Rock.
This is HARD before the botox, facelift and stupid looking teeth.
Long live Ritchie Blackmore ;-) and of course that early Whitesnake
You seem to have neglected to mention Neil Murray in this. The bassline is hugely impressive
OMG damn right!
I never listen to shit music, only rock.
LONG LIVE ROCK&ROLL
A classic. This is the best version of this song.
Agreed. I thought the 'new' version was pointless and pretty hopeless... Originally intended for B B King, I believe
No :-p version with Vai and Vandenberg on guitars is MUCH BETTER !!! ;-)
No it ain't original he ain't alive singer ugh not so good early Coverdale yes. Start at slow an easy and go backwards
I agree!
It sure is❣️
This is exactly what rock and roll should look and sound like.
Exactly:)
Coverdale is legend..
The bass is incredible!
Neil Murray on bass!
And.....THAT'S why this version is better.
I’ve worked on the sound for Neil and he is a great bass player and a gent
@@bigcolappleton He sure is a great bass player! I'm sure the other part is true as well. He played for or with so many great bands, he must be easy to work with.
@Mark Gibbins Coverdalwe blows my mind up!
One of the first rock songs i heard as a kid and still obsessed about today, Timeless
Truly amazing, great sound and totally in sync, music like this was superb.
this song played on the speaker when i was absolutely wasted off 6 beers, fell in love with it instantly and now im obsessed with whitesnake! amazing sound.
(In my opinion) The best era of Whitesnake and their Blues-Rock musical perfection 🎶👌✨🎶👌✨
David Coverdale , una de las mejores voces del rock .
a very long time ago, that is.

This was the lineup I saw at the Manchester Apollo in June 1980. All members at the peak of their powers.
One of My Favourites Songs! And it is 2024!!! 💙💙💙
The bass guitar is outstanding.
Neil Murray
Coz it's Neil Murray. ..outstanding musician
RIP Bernie Marsden!! Another iconic guitarsolo from him.
RIP Bernie Marsden thank you for the music.
このメンバーでのコンサートに行ってから42年経ちました。

RIP Bernie Marsden, Whitesnake best guitarist.
This is actually the real Whitesnake and this version is the absolute best, it has nothing to do with later glamor poppish hairy metal version.
Serhio 1000 I agree
No one can sing such emotional than David !
This version Rocks and reminds me of my younger days! When music had heart and soul in it! Not a glam show that could care less about the music and all about the look!
Yeah I really rather that versão
As a glam fan, I will agree there was no need to spoil this blues rock perfection.
Neil Murray on bass 👌driving it along splendidly
RIP Bernie Marsden, what a great guitar solo.
One of the best songs sung by one of the greatest musicians David Coverdale 👌 👍 ☺
One of the Only Rock tunes where the bass outshines the guitar. Just great bass 👌
You hit the nail right on the head my friend. Neil Murray makes this song huge
So true; Captivating bass playing.
and yet the guitar solo is awesome if you ask me
Bernie he's right up there...very underrated
Both are great imo
This is the best version ✌
Bridie ure dead rite.
Absolutely, with Crying In The Rain and Here I Go Again I actually prefer the rerecorded versions but with Fool For Your Loving the original Blues version is better in my opinion.
So it is, this version is definitely the best.
The version from a time before Coverdale's hair took over
Bridie Shaw absolutely
This guitar solo is incredible. I'm not sure who that guy even but I'm impressed 👍 hell yea.
Best era of the band!
I grew up in hair metal era, and this song version in 1990 hooked me so much. But this original version is so much bluesy and groovy makes me appreciate the song even more. Great
Please don't call it 'hair metal.' It WASN'T referred to as that during that time.
@@markserour9115 Tell us more

Whitesnake at their finest
Micky Moody and Bernie Marsden gave the sound that was Whitesnake born out of the blues.......
I agree totally. This lineup is the best. Two guitars a must so the lead solo doesn't sound weak. Add keyboard and kickass rhythm section thats why it sounds so good nothing missing and oh yeah great vocalist on top.
Criminally underratet song.
Best Whitesnake line up
Saw this lineup in Boston in '80, opening for Tull. Phenomenal.
That voice of Mr. Coverdale...

The emperor at keyboards, one of the drums hero ever with him, 2 of the finest quitar players ever and a good basist made this perfection
What an amazing bass line.

Loved whitesnake when I was a rock chick, taking me back to a memory that is etched in my Psyche
This is Withesnake, the real sound.
Neil Murray. Grossly underrated bassist.
One of my all time favourite hard rock songs ever. Coverdale, great front man and vocalist and the rest of the band just fabulous.
R.I.P Bernie Marsden
RIP Bernie Marsden :(
Neil Murray's bass just awesome. the tone and melodic lines
Memories of watching this on BBC Top Of The Pops at the age of 16 and making mental notes on the voice, the hair, the attitude and the perceived lifestyle.
I became a lead singer, very much influenced by this sound.
Thank you David Coverdale.
The rhythm section is absolutely superb. The fills are varied ( it's only Ian Paice )
.. and THAT BASS!
This is the original, true Whitesnake.
The first album "Trouble" contains the following lineup
David Coverdale - lead and backing vocals
Micky Moody - guitar, backing vocals
Bernie Marsden - guitar, lead vocals on track 9, backing vocals
Neil Murray - bass guitar
Dave Dowle - drums
Jon Lord - keyboards
Ian Paice joined on the "Ready and Willing" album in 1979, when they recorded it.
Rest in peace, Bernie Marsden. 😪
Those basslines! DAMMMMNNN!
Neil Murray. Da Man.
RIP BERNIE MARSDEN!
David Coverdale and Whitesnake always sang about the human condition. He's a lover not a fighter! The first band I was ever into at the tender age of 12.
No one cares

One of my favorite Whitesnake songs!!
Whitesnake - Fool For Your Loving Lyrics
I was born under a bad sign, left out in the cold
I'm a lonely man who knows just what it means to lose control
But I took all the heartache and turned it to shame
Now I'm movin', movin' on and I ain't taking the blame
[Chorus]
Don't come running to me, I know I've done all I can
A hard loving woman like you just makes a hard loving man
So I can say it to you, babe: I'll be a fool for your loving no more
A fool for your loving no more
I'm so tired of trying, I always end up crying
A fool for your loving no more, I'll be a fool for your loving no more
I'm tired of hiding my feelings, you left me lonely too long
I gave my heart and you tore it apart
Oh, baby you done me wrong
gataras,thanks for the lyrics!👍
