I think Mahedavran is a horrible person. Yes Hurrem isn’t innocent either but Mahedavran started the whole war between them just because Suleiman fell in love with Hurrem. Mahedavran loves playing the victim but really it’s karma coming back to kick her you know where. If she can’t take the treatment from Hurrem that Mahedavran gives to Hurrem then don’t play the game. Also Mahedavran isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer. She lost the war the minute Hurrem met Suleiman.
Elizabeth Burke actually she lost the war the minute she went to Suleiman chamber when he wanted Hurrem , she sharpened his urge for her , she actually paved the way for Hurrem with her own hands😂😂😂 silly woman
I would say she had lost the war long before her arrival in Istanbul. Süleyman doesn't look particularly thrilled to have her around; he seems far more rejoiced by seeing his son than by seeing her, actually. Süleyman had already taken up another concubine (Ayse), so it is not that he was waiting to reunite with her. Mahidevran was just too arrogant and too stubborn to see what was before her eyes.
There is not a single wrong thing that hurrem has done. She had one of the two choices, either rot away as a common concubine along with dozens of other in the harem or rise to power by becoming Sultan's favourite and ultimately the queen.
What I understood is Ibrahim was never Frank and trustworthy to whom he called his best friend. Suleyman always opened up his heart to pargali but he never reciprocated. From the first day he was hiding truth and feelings from the sultan
This is political power play at work. Ibrahim had come up the hard way after being captured to work as a slave. Survival is the key word here. On my second round of watching I have come to respect Ibrahim and his own quest for survival. Ibrahim has been accredited for establishing some of the Ottoman political systems, some of which have survived to this day in the Middle East. Each had their own agenda. Hurrem....Ibrahim....had agendas for their own survival. Rather unfortunately Ibrahim overstepped his and was executed. Mahidevran was a loving wife and mother but was never clever enough to manipulate her position for gain. I felt for her even though she did what she did.
Mustafa's presence was the only positivity in mahidevran's life. The small scene where she contemplates poisoning hurrem/herself, and Mustafa prances into the room breaking her evil thoughts is subtle and powerful.
True, children have the natural power to wipe off evil thoughts from the heart and fill it with love. That's why say, one can see God in the smile or laugh of a child :-)
I think he truly loved her until she said she was the dynasty and he was a subject not her husband. He found with Nigar someone who loved him for him. Sadly Hatice in our time would have been diagnosed with Post Partem and acute anxiety. It was a mess. Matraksa (spell) was so loyal. Heck I would marry him 😂
I started to watch this series again, to find out if there is something that justifies the killing of Ibrahim because I felt so bad when Ibrahim executed. But this episode proves that Ibrahim was a traitor! What sort of loyalty is there to Sultan Suleman? When he hid the part of who poisned the food when he already knew it still he chose to stay biass even knowing the fact that, His Majesty could have that poisoned pudding too! #TraitorSpotted
Sama Maqbool I agree wholeheartedly! Also, did you notice the looks he has every time Suleyman mentions missing only Hurrem and Mustafa. Telling him to fall in love. If Ibrahim was not thinking traitorous thoughts .. ie being the power behind Mustafa .. he would have confessed to his feelings for Hatice
Ibrahim was actually a traitor in history too. You could see that even in the past in the ring case, he didn't do anything to ayse khatun and this time he didn't harmed gulsa and he also brought them to the harem himself. Maybe he wanted to use them by forming a team and together betraying the emperor in future
He is infleunced by Madhinvadin he love Mustafa & half reared him? He sent Hurrem to the Sultan but didnt realise the Sultan will fall in love with Hurrem, now she's a threat for him bcause his influenced! Frm: South Africa
If Suleiman had the guts to just kill Maidrevran after showing that much evil, many things could have been avoided. It was the biggest mistake of his life.
@@carolynnorton9552 how ?? She loved her husband, Sultan, was loyal to her friend . She was the wife of Sultan ...Sultan and she loved each other with all going on . She was pure hence Sultan loved her .
That's why Ibrahim was executed because he's a traitor he hide the true culprit who poisoned Hurreim...it seems Sulleyman know that Mahidevran is the culprit..
ibrahim already warned Mahidevran but she doesnt listen and still continues to fight Hurrem. Ibrahim’s mistake was to protect mahidevran. he can protect mustafa without protecting mahidevran and not mess with Hurrem. Had he not messed with her he couldve lived a better and more peaceful life. She shouldve been just like Gulfem and mind her business and stay away from all the drama
Ibrahim wanted the throne. He knew no prince will survive well in the palace without his mother. Hence the reason he protected Mahidevran in this series. He couldn't protect her in real life and Mahidevran was exiled after beating Hurrem so she never had the opportunity to poison her.
Unfortunately I don't think it's true. Even if Ibrahim had only protected Mustafa, because of the Ottoman law about fratricide Ibrahim would still be a threat to Hürrem and her children. The only way Hürrem & Ibrahim wouldn't have been ennemy would be if Mahidevran died or was exiled and Hürrem raised Mustafa herself.
They should have the royal taster walk with every tray to Suleiman chambers & taste every dish on the platter right in front of Suleiman BEFORE Suleiman or any of his guest in his chamber eat or drink anything given to them .
In this case it might not have helped because the poison only calms you down when you eat a small amount of it. So the taster wouldn't feel much of an effect
What others being different to hurrem is that all woman in the harem they just there to serve the sultan as his subject and fulfill theie duty but hurrem is exeptional bcoz hurrem treated the sultan as a man not a king thats what the traits of hurrem that the sultan love her.
1st time watching, I felt bad for M. 2nd time watching I noticed she brought her unhappiness upon herself. 3rd time watching...yep, did it to herself. Right from the start actually. But I've never understood why the Sultan's mother jumpes on board, even after Hurrem gave birth to a boy.
I was feeling bad for Mahi when Suleiman ignored and skipped her for a greeting, but when she took resort to poisoning, all my sympathy for her vanished. You can't play evil and then, cry out to God -- she prays a lot, I can see; someone should've reminded her that God doesn't take pity on the evil.
@Violet yes she had twins Mihrimah and Abdullah but Abdullah couldn't make it to live... And Mihrimah she was strong and 1 of the powerful Sultana she is buried next to his father Sultan Suleyman Khan❤️
Absolutely disgusted with the way both Ibrahim and Mahidevran treat the servants. Ibrahim is brutally beating up Nigar and Mahidevran throws Gülsah under the bus to cover up her own crime. Both of them actually messed up, but cowardly look for other people to take the blame.
You dont have to wonder or surprise cause all in the palace was in favor of mahidevran. And hurrem was along by herself . She stand so strong to face all the traps on her . Have you hear what valida said to hurrem ? If something bad will happen to the baby , she will destroy hurrem. But she never did anything to mahidevran when she had miscarriage.
Also.. she never gave Mahedevran any consequences.. every time Sultan doesn’t give Mahedevran attention it makes the differences much more blatant. Hurrem only has Sultan
All were in favour of sultan mahi because they all were jealous of her as she recieved sultans attention more than anybody else in the harem ,even valide sultan was jealous of her thinking abt that she might loose her power once hurrem became sultan....she never had threat with mahi as she was not much fav of sultan ....sultan was in deep love with hurrem......that he broke the 200 year old laws of palace for her
This episode shows how manipulative mahidevran is...disgusting😡. And Ibrahim was helping her in all the crimes. These two are the real traitors😡🤬. You can also see that mahidevran was quite happy and contented with herself after murdering someone. That's what i call the real face of evil.

For the first time in history that a sultan act hysterical for a woman . And that is hurrem sultan who was poisoned by mahidevran in the presence of the sultan! He even get angry with Ibrahim because of what happen.he felt so devastated on their first night after their long campaign..
By the time she came to Istanbul, he no longer had any feelings for her. It was written all over his face when he first saw her. BTW, that was before Sueliman and Hurrem had their halvet. He was in love with Hurrem after than and for the rest of his life. They were together 40+ yrs.
That's true as far as it goes but mahidevran was his first wife and she was an upstart from the Crimea it might be well to remember the words the movie critic Ebert may he rest in peace the emperor has lost their Empires but they couldn't say no to their wives if Mustafa had been allowed to become sultan there might have been an era learning tolerance and knowledge not seen before it could have happened that way
How can Ibrahim find the scoundrel who poisoned Hürrem, when he's just standing and scolding, and blaming and punishing people? Gosh, the way he shook, choked, and banged Niger Kalfa against the wall felt so real - it hurt my eyes! Poor innocent woman!
Ibrahim was a traitor from the beginning going behind sukeiman's back to flirt with hatice. Remember tascali yahya gave up his love for mustafa? That is loyalty 👑
Given Ibrahim comments about preparing Mustafa for the throne, you have to wonder if he planned to kill Suleiman to make that happen. Mustafa ascending so young would mean he'd have greater control. Even when Mustafa grew up, Ibrahim would have solidified his position and been able to control Mustafa, Suleiman allowed him leniency in exercising his position but would never let him forget his place
Every time pergali tries to hide something (like when mahi poisoned hurrem)suleyman calls him on his bs. Ibrahim was always covering for mahi's evil deeds.
One thing that I have noticed is that the 'theme song' for the show only plays during certain characters. So far, it has played for Hurrem, Süleyman, Mihirimah, and I believe Nurbanu later on. It has never played for those like Mustafa (instead he has his own version of it), his mother, or other members of the Dynasty. Just something I've noticed....
Mahidevran is such a coward snake...threw gulshah in fire....I dunno how she gave birth to a son like mustafa....and hurrem was such a brave heart..always protecting her main slaves, concubines...dunno how she gave birth to selim
Its just a drama. They made it dramatic more than realistic! Don't just believed the real history based on it fully! Sultan Suleiman never slept with another woman after Hurrem. Because only hurrem was sultan's one & only true love. Sultan Suleiman was loyal to Hurrem for his whole Lifetime!
@@berenwarrior6276 And jealousy. Hurrem's pregnacy brings her closer to Suleiman, and further from him. I can't stand violence against women. He never hit one men only powerful women. He did it only to show his power over them, also the abuse of power in this episode. Thankfully that system doesn't exist anymore.
Hurrem was also very young they say probably only 15 when she went to the harem. A lot to contend with after seeing her family killed. She did very very well.
She was 17. Other girls were younger than her. Watching the series a second time I realize that hurrem treats even her ONLY friend Maria badly. She also has an evil streak in her and I don't understand how other viewers don't see it.

Mahidavran made her self poison that Sulieman made kick her out of Palace..i just love the Drama ..cast and dirty game....🤣🤣

The mercy he showed to the defeated touched my heart, literally brought tears to my eyes. Truly he deserved the title: Suleiman the MAGNIFICENT!!!!
Yes, and killing even he's family. Magnificent.

Very dirty of him.

Yes at 1:31:45 or so; it hits Suleyman. The beginning of the distrust for Pasha.
What a magnificent movie. It's one of a kind. I love all the characters💕
Why did he actually do that maybe something was between him and Mahidevran! Worth more than freindship who knows
He does reciprocate. Watch to end of the series.

I think he has feelings for sultan 😂
I think he truly loved her until she said she was the dynasty and he was a subject not her husband. He found with Nigar someone who loved him for him. Sadly Hatice in our time would have been diagnosed with Post Partem and acute anxiety. It was a mess. Matraksa (spell) was so loyal. Heck I would marry him 😂
The only thing they manage to do, everytime they attack Hurrem is Souleyman to love her more.

And also he hid who stole the ring that Sulaiman made for Hurrem
Oh yeah! Many viewers even don't stop from saying maybe he had a thing for Mahidevran. 🤷🏻♀️
Ibrahim was actually a traitor in history too. You could see that even in the past in the ring case, he didn't do anything to ayse khatun and this time he didn't harmed gulsa and he also brought them to the harem himself. Had he not messed with her he couldve lived a better and more peaceful life. She shouldve been just like Gulfem and mind her business and stay away from all the drama
She would have remained in charge of the harem
Ibrahim wanted the throne. He knew no prince will survive well in the palace without his mother. Hence the reason he protected Mahidevran in this series. He couldn't protect her in real life and Mahidevran was exiled after beating Hurrem so she never had the opportunity to poison her.
kayodewa Mahidevran was not exiled anywhere; she departed for Manisa with her son when he received his assignment, as was customary.
@@kayodewa 🤣🤣🤣
That's how it used to be done
