y'know my biggest issue with the Giga Bomb? I think it's visually underwhelming. The gigabomb we see inside the townhall had this cool design with like a glass exterior and an orange, poison liquid inside. The new Gigabomb we unlock looks like something you'd've unlocked in TH 7, like the OG bombs and large bombs
I think they just rushed everything so much! Nothing looks polished! The TH weapon looks like a weapon from every coc reap off games! Giga bomb, fire spitter nothing looks scary tbh! The thrower is so lazy as*s idea and looks like older bowlers! Other than the colours and themes, everything of this TH seems underwhelming to me!
My least favorite thing about the update is definitely the fact that you need to upgrade the Hero Hall, which is a pretty lengthy upgrade, to unlock new heroes. Getting a new hero right away was the best part of reaching TH7,9,11 or 13, and for example waiting for 8 whole days after upgrading to TH13 just to get your hands on Royal Champion sucks. Especially since she's gonna be level 1 when you finish unlocking her and won't really be useable for a while longer anyway. And by the end of those 8 days the town hall boost is over as well, which means you don't even get a chance to give her a try at a high level like you would before. Unless you have a book or hammer of building.
That is very true, I had not released that was how it worked when recording this, that wasn’t really put too much to creators. Now people will have to assure they have books ready for the Hall.
Used to play coc up to th13, right now the overall game feels too complex as a casual player, and i am guessing more people will rush townhall to 17 to play the new stuffs.
They did not need to merge the eagle with the TH.... They could have removed all the mortars to merge with it. We really lost a powerful defense for a very underwhelming merged TH in my opinion
After seeing the update myself I was disappointed because I thought one or two motors getting merged in th would have been much better, because the current weapon isn't the eagle artillery. Tbh eagle on th 17 could have made more sensitive more powerful and f.s would have cool combination with eagle artillery but idk what was on there mind . They didn't change the meta they actually they pressed the reset button and now game will change so drastically. Idk what was the point of eagle for 6 th's it was a really good difference to actually play around but it is what it is.
I don't understand why they have placed so much focus on lowering the number of buildings on the base, but then turn around and add stuff like the Helper Hut. Even the Hero Hall (especially for how much upgrading it costs) would have been a good time to consider merging in at least the Blacksmith and potentially even the Pet House.
@@JudoSloth.2 Placing it outside the building would mean to remove the apprentice builder from the village and thus him not being a villager anymore, which would be weird due to him being so active in the village bussiness. At least that's my opinion on the matter.

Eagle artillery was the signature defence for every player! now we don't need to start the attract on the opposite side of townhall bcoz no eagle & no Townhall poison means 200% attack. At least they shouldn't remove the townhall poison ¦

@@sheasmith9902 The dps of the new weapon is should be noticeably lower than the giga inferno. First, because it is slow, second the intial impact doesn't deal much damage and the lava is most likely not gonna deal much damage, third is because thr giga inferno just have constant damage output unlike the mortar which rely on the lava.
Didn't you miss the most important point? The Eagle Artillery. They didn’t really merge it they straight up deleted it No more infinite range and that’s the whole point Many attack strategies used to revolve around managing damage from the Town Hall and Eagle Artillery, and the strength of many bases relied on placing them strategically. This challenge is now gone.
Attack strategies havent revolved around the eagle in a while. Monolith is objectively more annoying, as is the average inferno tower. Even for the lower th where eagle is much more of a threat, did you want the eagle artillery to be the meta FOREVER?
adding a whole building for the assistants seemed a lil unnecessary, they couldve been placed alongside the super troop area. as for sacrificing the eagle, it does make me hesitant on becoming th17. if they were worried about limiting the amount of buildings, i think players would much rather sacrifice all four mortars instead of one of the strongest defenses
For the Townhall and giga bomb being separated is not the biggest issue. I thing the main problem with th17 is that the merge of Eagle artillery. The inferno artillery does not feel anything like the eagle artillery. Its more like Townhall+mini minion hive+fire spirits. I think that the townhall needing a certain amount of troops deployed would have been better. Also it should've had a death damage anyways. Even if not the giga bomb something else maybe.
I understand what you mean and until we have more time we’ll not really know. Many people think it’s not as strong, so having a troop activation would have meant it was weaker.
The biggest problem i have with this townhall is that it basically nerfs defense since you lost 2 of the strongest defence and the replacements (firespitter and townhall weapons) dont make up for it and the giga bomb too is a nerf since it loses its poision
Facts. We no longer have to worry about the TH explosion and we no longer have to worry about the EA’s long range attack. They quite literally made Blimp the best and only SM to use in TH17.

Honestly i think its not really merging the eagle and town hall its just killing the eagle artillery Town hall 17 is likely to be easier to attack than a town hall 16 Yes you saw that right
I can assure you it is not. I’ve attached a lot of maxed bases on the dev build, yes the Eagle is gone, but the overall strength of the base is significantly more than when TH16 was released.
New levels for all the troops haven't been added yet neither are newer th 17 oriented epic equipments. I can assure you th17 is going to be peice of cake for the pro scene@JudoSloth.2

I’m actually genuinely curious? You can disagree if you want, cause in the end it’s just a game and not that serious but TH17 seems weaker at first before its upgraded more, compared to a max TH16. Its just my opinion and i could be wrong.
Overall I loved it, the design, the theme but the EAGLE 😭. It was soo iconic defense, The sound of it charging and shooting was the best sound for anything in the game, nit being able to listen to that feels kinda sad
It’s just that it doesn’t have the feeling of the eagle artillery and it’s more like mortars with a lil lock on, they should have made the town hall like the clan capital main building with a little twist if they was gonna merge the eagle

I have a question? What’s the usages of blacksmith building when you can do all from hero hall? Isn’t that wastage of space? In order to reduce buildings they merged Eagle with Th! But introduced hero hall and still kept the blacksmith building!

They need to give us more ways to get ores, now that there are 5 heroes with equipments. It's especially underwhelming when I'm upgrading equipment for a hero I'm not going to be able to use in an attack because it's swapped out.
They REALLY should have combined the town hall with the 4 mortars, they wouldnt even need to change the attack of the hall because it fits it PERFECTLY.

Anyone else feel like the thrower is just a really uninspired troop, typically the higher level town halls introduce troops that have a new mechanic. This is just bigger beefier wizard tbh.
Everything seems pretty lazy. I love the theme but everything they’ve put out just feels uninspired. If this is what they plan on doing with yearly town hall releases I’m really disappointed.
2:39 I disagree with this take. Yes we always knew where the giga bomb was in previous TH, but people have no choice other than hit the TH, hence the damage is guaranteed and now it's totally different. People can avoid the damage or sacrifice less housing space of troops to trigger it. So the giga bomb being visible is massive nerf to the game.
I think that TH17 should have just combined with 2 or 3 max level mortars instead. Mortars feel like a completely worthless defense after TH8, and i think it would have been a nice way to make them useful again. The giga bomb no longer being part of the townhall and now not even dropping a poison spell, seems like an extreme nerf to defense that wasn't needed. I also miss the idea of the eagle artillery and just having this one defense that covers the whole map and does insane damage. It was easily one of the coolest buildings in the whole game and now its gone
yeah, i mean take 4 mortars merge it with the town hall, and spare eagle artillery. if they concern about flame flinger i say give us one more xbow, and that will kinda cover whole side base and done.
@@Rikka_V1, exactly, mortars are a threat to flame flingers which would be completely broken with mortars, xbows, monolith and the new town hall defense. You could always zap quake or warden fireball with earthquake the eagle but you wouldn’t use lightning to take out 4 mortars in a base it just doesn’t make sense so It was always a threat to flingers.
If the multi-mortar and lava launcher had a giant baby, you would have the th17 eagle town hall weapon. The eagle town hall is really weak. It feels like it’s lacking major damage
Maybe if Supercell adds levels to the Town Hall, the attack distance could continue to increase. A level 5 would have a full range of the whole village like the actual eagle artillery had.
Merging the eagle is a good idea but removing it's artillery shells is sucks tbh and separating the gigabomb is kinda sus. SC is really near to its end game.
Separating the Giga is interesting and it’s hard to know how it will play out. Could be good or bad but time will tell I guess. Maybe they’ll merge it back 😆

The TH17 released was overhyped by the Devs making us expect a very good development and receiving the TH17 makes it a little bit stale and not enough. I feel like the weapon was a big nerf for the gameplay itself. Not a very big worry on instant burst damage making gameplay for attacks be more reliant on low hp troops rather than higher HP troops. Thinking about the blimp loon clone combo that would be a meta for this patch as well.
Nope. They just changed the gameplay. Until now the plan was always to use eternal tome and avoid th poison and giga bomb. Now attacking is more than just activating eternal tome when you destroy the town hall. It's a fresh change
Couldn't agree more. I hope more start to think this way and see it a strive to make attacking more fun/refreshing and start building their warden for the whole attack in mind rather than just for when you're destroying the townhall. @Rikka_V1
@@Rikka_V1yeah the problem is… removing the eagle means less resources spent taking it down. All this for a watered down mortar that leaves behind a lava pool because that’s exactly what it is. The most dangerous part about a town hall was leaving your troops in the poison making them deal less dps while taking hefty dot while inside the range. Now it’s just brainless fireball spam at the town hall from warden and pretty much win because no eagle to worry about.
My friend circle has casual players who just wants to use generic spam attack but even they didn't like this update. They said they liked the meta where they'd to worry about Th and eagle at the same time. It sparked excitement for them rather than just spamming everything.

Merge mortar to inferno mortar 2.make eagle artillery have 2 mode, before and after triggered 3.Dont separate giga bomb and the TH, that is contra against what they said about need more space. 4.merge tesla ta a giga tesla like in the builder village 5. I have to disagree with you on the design. It looks cool and believe you’ll like the design eventually. I do think that the eagle artillery looked cooler
9:21 Or if a nerf is needed it should only be done in the hard mode. I was TH 13 when rootriders were introduced and by the time I reached TH 15 rootriders have become a replacement for super wallbreaker and nothing else.
To be honest, the biggest problem on the update would be the hero hall. A waste of resources, long time of waiting, delay of getting heroes, and the worst part is upgrading heroes is not useable and still needs builders to actually level up your heroes, which was expected to work like a laboratory. Just think about that. That building may be beneficial to the clan since it welcomes all opportunities, but not beneficial for the players of the game. Kinda unmotivating to continue playing the game.
To make the townhall closer to the eagle, make it so after 180 housing space, the range gets doabled with more damage. Also could be nice if it droped the poison after death (even if it deals no damage) to slow down
I feel the Eagle Artillery is very nostogic for me and was a pivotal moment for me in my clash of clans journey when it came out. I remember thinking and still think that it is an incredibly cool defense with the best animations in the game. Sad to see it go.
This is a big rant but here is my take on this update. It’s mostly just negative because I feel like they did a bad approach with. Can’t have all 5 out. Need to upgrade hero hall to level up heroes and lower level townhalls have to upgrade it before they get the new hero. They should have merged the mortars to make th 17 not the eagle artillery. Thats like a main defense and it’s just underwhelming. If it was like the clan capital that would be better but it’s just lame. I love the sound of the eagle and what it does. And just taking it out for in my opinion a very underwhelming townhall is just not a good take. If they did mortars I would be happier because I feel like those are useless anyway and we get 4 buildings gone not just 1
Judo, somewhere in your video you talked about the hero hall being similar to the laboratory as we need to upgrade it in order to upgrade hero levels, and while that is fine I feel like it should not use builders to upgrade heros as the laboratory has its own “upgrade” slot and limits the amount of upgrades that can happen at one time. Maybe I new hero specific upgrade slot would be nice where you can upgrade a max of 2 at a time without using builders would work well, or something of that nature. I also don’t like that I have to upgrade the HH for 8 days to get the RC as I am about to upgrade to TH13. So while most of the update doesn’t affect me much at my level, with the new defenses and all, it does make upgrading heros a hassle as I not only have to put a builder down for multiple days to unlock a hero but then the hero is only lvl 1 after 8 days rather than how it was prior where you could get them instantly and have them to like lvl 10 by the end of the week. Just in my opinion the HH could have been implemented better, but overall I do like the update.
I am glad I searched the comments. I was going to say this same thing. Moving the heroes to a building to perform the upgrade really feels like it should not use a builder. Pets do not require a builder and can use the hero book. I upgraded my Minion Prince and was kind of surprised for half a second to see my builder we busy.
If they're trying rly rly hard to reduce the amount of building then merge the gold and elixir collector and give one level per town hall cause i hate seeing the colors not match and merge blacksmith and pet house to the hero hall considering everything is already available in there
And if someone wants to know how i would do it them it would be like at th16 you can merge half the collectors (1 gold and 1 elixir not 2 gold or 2 elixir) making both resources in the same building and then the rest of them in th17 and as for blacksmith, pet house and hero hall i would merge blacksmith and hero hall at th16 and then hero hall and pet house at th17
@@Red7914I don’t see why the player would need to merge them. I think the much simpler and obvious solution is to reduce the number of collectors but keep the hourly production rate. Kinda like the barracks change that was made however long ago.

the one annoying thing i find abount this update is for farming with the training potion. Now the heroes dont get the 4x time reduction. this was the case before the update, i hope this is a bugg and this can be fixed.
Agreed! When the update 1st came out for merging archer towers and cannons was announced the caveat was that it couldn't be undone, no mention that it was required to update to TH17. I've got some upgrades to do!!
Bro this giga bomb trap doesn't even have poison Also th17 weapon does burn damage not poison damage. This means the weapon does damage but doesn't slow down troops.
I think the thrower actually works pretty well as a ranged troop behind a tank because since we now have fire spitters that can sometimes hit through targets, a mini tank like that can help so it doesn’t just die quickly from them like some glass cannon troops

Yes of course. I do it once a year but I wait a number of weeks for the meta to stabilise so we really can bring you the best bases, not hastily release it then them not be good.
an interesting use case of the revive spell i've been experimenting with is using the king to set a funnel early, and once the rest of the army has moved past him, reviving to clean up. i'm also a big vampstache user so he has the opportunity to heal up further. in general it seems like a mechanic targeted at more casual players, giving them an opportunity to fix an attack that went wrong, but i think the recall spell is more versatile towards that end.
I understand that merging buildings is necessary, but let’s face it the eagle has not been merged with the town hall. The eagle has been removed from the game completely and this merging of the eagle with the town hall feels a little dishonest. You merge 2 archer towers or 2 canons and you still have an archer tower or a canon that just functions slightly differently. The eagle is not present in any shape or form really
Merging of TH and EA, was expecting TH with a inferno and artillery together and doubling the HP so that it will be hard to take out but now TH is the most easiest meta Defence to take out,+without Giga bomb 🙂 the more challenging to take out the TH is the more interesting it would be But now it can easily 3 star, and the Firesplitter it looks like one of the Defence in the Unlimited version of CoC (Hacked version) CRAZY!!!
26:50 i think many old players dont like apprentice because all of their achievements are already done and they have used that gem before so now they actually have to pay or wait and save a lot of gem which doesn't seem worth it
The thing with merging the eagle and townhall is that its essentially worse no matter how good the town hall weapon is at th17. You can just freeze it, before youd have to freeze two different locations / defenses. Now its just one freeze you need for something that is already a tad underwhelming.
I honestly think that after the second level of the Giga bomb you should get access to affects like lvl 2 would unlock lock freeze affect like th13 then the third upgrade would unlock the poison affect etc.
As a town hall 13 player who was seriously struggling with the problems associated with hero's either upgrading or base , all I can say is so far it's a horrible new town hall personally for me. With a nice new hero I've now got to find the dark elixir for 10 more levels when I was already struggling with 25 levels of Royal Champion. Add this to the fact that my next town hall will now be even harder!!!!! The cost reduction were on the face of it nice and the new town hall looks stunning but where is the real love for the people in the town hall 11 to 14 bracket. Now we need even more ore and I can't find enough and can really only now going forward afford a battle pass. Hopefully the battle pass will improve to help players like me. As for F2P ouch this is now impossible and I go back to an American TH-cam channel when his revolting statement of please F2P come back and at least upgrade your resources for us when you ultimately go away....... that I'm afraid was probably the same view as SuperCell........Jonn

I feel they should’ve done this with the mortar as they are basically useless in the higher town halls and their only purpose ever is kind of just the flame flinger but the eagle artillery is a bit crazy since it feels like a downgrade to get rid of a full range op defense just to make the town hall weapon slightly better and automatically activated. The eagle is such a major defense and provided diversity and more strategy, now it feels like as if you could just spam everything in. For their future though I think going with wizard merges or mortar merges are a good idea as they are either dead average or kind of bad compared to other defenses. *What are you personal opinions on this judo?*

I don’t think TH17 should’ve merged with the Eagle but I also don’t think it should’ve merged with the mortars. To me it makes more sense for it to merge with a multi mortar(you’d be able to gear up another mortar at TH17 Dw) because the TH17 weapon seems like a multi lava launcher that homes.
@@JudoSloth.2I agree with most of the stuff you discuss, especially the part about how there are more updates a year than it used to be. Even though I am at a lower th level it still brings excitement and never makes the game boring because we usually get some of the content too like for example new troops to use in the clan castle or new spells.
With the Hero Hall I don’t think we should still be required to need a builder to upgrade heroes. You can upgrade troops, spells, and pets, and now heroes in their own building so it seems silly to still need a builder for a hero. Also since you now have to upgrade the hall itself at every TH to access new Heroes or higher levels getting rid of the need for a builder could justify that change
The revive spell could be useful for farming, sending heroes in to die for loot revive, pop abilites and leave the match, getting more value for heroes and spending less time waiting for them to regen I’m a th15 player with max th14 heroes sometimes I get up to 40-50% with just heroes and their abilities and no spells it, could be fun to just do hero/revive spells for farming with goblins
Idea for the giga bomb, you can place it on any building and like the supercharge, it gave it like a red glow so it wouldn’t be unfair in the places you could put it

Something I found out while using sneakies after the update, the helper hut counts as a resource building. You'll have your sneakies prioritize it over anything else like it does for any other resource buildings
27:15 They can add those helpers in Super troops place where 2 separate button will separate ST & Helpers, it can be done without any problem to scenery!
Haven't watched further (hoping it's mentioned) but honestly the biggest issue is that there's now no poison or slow in the townhall or the giga bomb trap and that is such a massive loss on defence and certain strats are busted
It would be cool if we can buy one more crossbow then add the extra 1 crossbow on the Townhall on the next th update so that the townhall will have eagle on the center and crossbow on the corners
I feel like a lot of people complain about the townhall weapon not really being a stronger eagle. But the idea about th 17 was to spread the defenses instead of there being an area of denial in the core.
As an older player, there is now so much to check before I attack, that the 30 seconds cooldown is gone before I’m ready. Usually end up clicking next. A slider bar to allow 45 seconds for players that like to plan would be handy
Personally th17 is the one i am the least excited about. I was very hyped for the new hero but I thought he would be much more special like completely new mechanics or a very specific usecase. Now its just a flying archer queen. Not a big deal. I was actually way more excited about the spirit fox and even the angry jelly, because of its unique usecase. So I hope players will find a tactical approach where the MP ist key like the warden or the queen for the warden/queen walk. Just to spam the hero within my dragons will not get me hyped. Maybe the equipment will make that hero unique so the MP is the focus of a attack and defines a new attack strategy
I think the best use case for the revive spell would be similar to the recall... Like if the hero dies at a specific place and you wait until your army has moved in and revive the hero to execute a different purpose of support for the army whereas at the first maybe it was a suicidal hero dive... So it might be a situational recall spell in some cases, but only for one hero which might look similar to the recall attacks we all know about. Also, some good strategies involving this spell may require to turn off the "use ability on k.o" button, which seems really interesting... Anyways these are my thoughts
This is such a nit pick but I miss when the bases fit a theme. Upgrades are so long not everything has one with a new TH and now stuff isn't as satisfying. My favorite thing used to be seeing new themes with the townhalls but the highest two townhalls are just a hodgepodge of colors.
imo the revive spell is used to ensure the attack go smoothly. for instance when you're doing an fireball attack, its common that your grand warden will die after delivering the fireball, but then you loses the rage effect for your main army, supposed it's super witch or root riders or anything. ait might be possible that you will have it remains after the battle if all four of hero is still alive, then maybe we can have it in the clan castle.
I think the firespitter is their second attempt at creating the scattershot. When TH13 first dropped they introduced the scattershot as something that can be a threat to your back line as well. But in practice the shrapnel just does not do enough damage and range to pose a threat to any squishier troops so the scattershot ended up just being a more powerful mortar. It’s interesting now to see a defense with massive range and limited directions and does full damage to any back line. Would be interesting to see how the original TH13 vision turns out
I think the main reason people might not be afraid of the giga bomb as much is because of that powerful poison effect is missing. previously after destroying the TH, even if you use warden tome or have high hp troop to tank that blast. the poison slow down for such a long time would give other defenses a lot of time to deal massive damage to the troops stuck in the poison effect
The only thing that I hated about the update was the developers being stingy and TH-camrs not sharing the information they had sooner. I was a new TH 16 during hammer jam and I was upgrading my defenses and not knowing that I had to upgrade one of my heroes to the highest level possible. This information was released the night before the update dropped. My Queen was level 88 the entire time during the hammer jam and after the update, I got level 9 hero hall with level 60 MP. Now I have to upgrade the hero hall for 12 days and work MP for two months just to get it level 70. TH-camrs could tell us: just upgrade one of your heroes to highest level possible during the hammer jam because it's going to be beneficial for you after the update drops.
What are your thoughts on TH17? I recorded this prior to it releasing so clearly the amount of bugs the update has came with is not ideal. I hope they can fix them soon!

y'know my biggest issue with the Giga Bomb? I think it's visually underwhelming.
The gigabomb we see inside the townhall had this cool design with like a glass exterior and an orange, poison liquid inside. The new Gigabomb we unlock looks like something you'd've unlocked in TH 7, like the OG bombs and large bombs
I think they just rushed everything so much! Nothing looks polished! The TH weapon looks like a weapon from every coc reap off games! Giga bomb, fire spitter nothing looks scary tbh! The thrower is so lazy as*s idea and looks like older bowlers! Other than the colours and themes, everything of this TH seems underwhelming to me!
I think it will become more scary as more levels come out
My least favorite thing about the update is definitely the fact that you need to upgrade the Hero Hall, which is a pretty lengthy upgrade, to unlock new heroes. Getting a new hero right away was the best part of reaching TH7,9,11 or 13, and for example waiting for 8 whole days after upgrading to TH13 just to get your hands on Royal Champion sucks. Especially since she's gonna be level 1 when you finish unlocking her and won't really be useable for a while longer anyway. And by the end of those 8 days the town hall boost is over as well, which means you don't even get a chance to give her a try at a high level like you would before. Unless you have a book or hammer of building.

After seeing the update myself I was disappointed because I thought one or two motors getting merged in th would have been much better, because the current weapon isn't the eagle artillery. Tbh eagle on th 17 could have made more sensitive more powerful and f.s would have cool combination with eagle artillery but idk what was on there mind . They didn't change the meta they actually they pressed the reset button and now game will change so drastically. Idk what was the point of eagle for 6 th's it was a really good difference to actually play around but it is what it is.

I don't understand why they have placed so much focus on lowering the number of buildings on the base, but then turn around and add stuff like the Helper Hut. Even the Hero Hall (especially for how much upgrading it costs) would have been a good time to consider merging in at least the Blacksmith and potentially even the Pet House.

The dps of the new weapon is should be noticeably lower than the giga inferno. First, because it is slow, second the intial impact doesn't deal much damage and the lava is most likely not gonna deal much damage, third is because thr giga inferno just have constant damage output unlike the mortar which rely on the lava.

Attack strategies havent revolved around the eagle in a while. Monolith is objectively more annoying, as is the average inferno tower. Even for the lower th where eagle is much more of a threat, did you want the eagle artillery to be the meta FOREVER?
adding a whole building for the assistants seemed a lil unnecessary, they couldve been placed alongside the super troop area. as for sacrificing the eagle, it does make me hesitant on becoming th17. if they were worried about limiting the amount of buildings, i think players would much rather sacrifice all four mortars instead of one of the strongest defenses

For the Townhall and giga bomb being separated is not the biggest issue. I thing the main problem with th17 is that the merge of Eagle artillery. The inferno artillery does not feel anything like the eagle artillery. Its more like Townhall+mini minion hive+fire spirits.
I think that the townhall needing a certain amount of troops deployed would have been better. Also it should've had a death damage anyways. Even if not the giga bomb something else maybe.
I understand what you mean and until we have more time we’ll not really know. Many people think it’s not as strong, so having a troop activation would have meant it was weaker.

The biggest problem i have with this townhall is that it basically nerfs defense since you lost 2 of the strongest defence and the replacements (firespitter and townhall weapons) dont make up for it and the giga bomb too is a nerf since it loses its poision
Facts. We no longer have to worry about the TH explosion and we no longer have to worry about the EA’s long range attack. They quite literally made Blimp the best and only SM to use in TH17.

I can assure you it is not. I’ve attached a lot of maxed bases on the dev build, yes the Eagle is gone, but the overall strength of the base is significantly more than when TH16 was released.
New levels for all the troops haven't been added yet neither are newer th 17 oriented epic equipments.

Overall I loved it, the design, the theme but the EAGLE 😭. It was soo iconic defense, The sound of it charging and shooting was the best sound for anything in the game, nit being able to listen to that feels kinda sad

Yes we always knew where the giga bomb was in previous TH, but people have no choice other than hit the TH, hence the damage is guaranteed and now it's totally different. People can avoid the damage or sacrifice less housing space of troops to trigger it. So the giga bomb being visible is massive nerf to the game.
I think that TH17 should have just combined with 2 or 3 max level mortars instead.
Mortars feel like a completely worthless defense after TH8, and i think it would have been a nice way to make them useful again.
The giga bomb no longer being part of the townhall and now not even dropping a poison spell, seems like an extreme nerf to defense that wasn't needed.
I also miss the idea of the eagle artillery and just having this one defense that covers the whole map and does insane damage. It was easily one of the coolest buildings in the whole game and now its gone

@@Rikka_V1, exactly, mortars are a threat to flame flingers which would be completely broken with mortars, xbows, monolith and the new town hall defense. You could always zap quake or warden fireball with earthquake the eagle but you wouldn’t use lightning to take out 4 mortars in a base it just doesn’t make sense so It was always a threat to flingers.
If the multi-mortar and lava launcher had a giant baby, you would have the th17 eagle town hall weapon. The eagle town hall is really weak. It feels like it’s lacking major damage
Maybe if Supercell adds levels to the Town Hall, the attack distance could continue to increase. A level 5 would have a full range of the whole village like the actual eagle artillery had.

The TH17 released was overhyped by the Devs making us expect a very good development and receiving the TH17 makes it a little bit stale and not enough. I feel like the weapon was a big nerf for the gameplay itself. Not a very big worry on instant burst damage making gameplay for attacks be more reliant on low hp troops rather than higher HP troops. Thinking about the blimp loon clone combo that would be a meta for this patch as well.
Nope. They just changed the gameplay. Until now the plan was always to use eternal tome and avoid th poison and giga bomb. Now attacking is more than just activating eternal tome when you destroy the town hall. It's a fresh change

The most dangerous part about a town hall was leaving your troops in the poison making them deal less dps while taking hefty dot while inside the range. Now it’s just brainless fireball spam at the town hall from warden and pretty much win because no eagle to worry about.
My friend circle has casual players who just wants to use generic spam attack but even they didn't like this update. They said they liked the meta where they'd to worry about Th and eagle at the same time. It sparked excitement for them rather than just spamming everything.

To be honest, the biggest problem on the update would be the hero hall. A waste of resources, long time of waiting, delay of getting heroes, and the worst part is upgrading heroes is not useable and still needs builders to actually level up your heroes, which was expected to work like a laboratory. Just think about that. That building may be beneficial to the clan since it welcomes all opportunities, but not beneficial for the players of the game. Kinda unmotivating to continue playing the game.
To make the townhall closer to the eagle, make it so after 180 housing space, the range gets doabled with more damage. Also could be nice if it droped the poison after death (even if it deals no damage) to slow down
The townhall Has nothing to Do with a Inferno or Eagle Attillery. Its a Mix between the lava Launcher and Multi morter from the builder Base.
I wish we at least got the sound effects of the Artilerry. Even if the TH is stronger stat wise, still doesn't feel threatening more than a mortar.
My hope is that future updates make the Hero Hall function like the laboratory so upgrading heroes does not use a builder.
I feel the Eagle Artillery is very nostogic for me and was a pivotal moment for me in my clash of clans journey when it came out. I remember thinking and still think that it is an incredibly cool defense with the best animations in the game. Sad to see it go.
This is a big rant but here is my take on this update. It’s mostly just negative because I feel like they did a bad approach with. Can’t have all 5 out. Need to upgrade hero hall to level up heroes and lower level townhalls have to upgrade it before they get the new hero. They should have merged the mortars to make th 17 not the eagle artillery. Thats like a main defense and it’s just underwhelming. If it was like the clan capital that would be better but it’s just lame. I love the sound of the eagle and what it does. And just taking it out for in my opinion a very underwhelming townhall is just not a good take. If they did mortars I would be happier because I feel like those are useless anyway and we get 4 buildings gone not just 1

Judo, somewhere in your video you talked about the hero hall being similar to the laboratory as we need to upgrade it in order to upgrade hero levels, and while that is fine I feel like it should not use builders to upgrade heros as the laboratory has its own “upgrade” slot and limits the amount of upgrades that can happen at one time. Maybe I new hero specific upgrade slot would be nice where you can upgrade a max of 2 at a time without using builders would work well, or something of that nature. I also don’t like that I have to upgrade the HH for 8 days to get the RC as I am about to upgrade to TH13. So while most of the update doesn’t affect me much at my level, with the new defenses and all, it does make upgrading heros a hassle as I not only have to put a builder down for multiple days to unlock a hero but then the hero is only lvl 1 after 8 days rather than how it was prior where you could get them instantly and have them to like lvl 10 by the end of the week.
Just in my opinion the HH could have been implemented better, but overall I do like the update.
I am glad I searched the comments. I was going to say this same thing. Moving the heroes to a building to perform the upgrade really feels like it should not use a builder. Pets do not require a builder and can use the hero book.

If they're trying rly rly hard to reduce the amount of building then merge the gold and elixir collector and give one level per town hall cause i hate seeing the colors not match and merge blacksmith and pet house to the hero hall considering everything is already available in there
And if someone wants to know how i would do it them it would be like at th16 you can merge half the collectors (1 gold and 1 elixir not 2 gold or 2 elixir) making both resources in the same building and then the rest of them in th17 and as for blacksmith, pet house and hero hall i would merge blacksmith and hero hall at th16 and then hero hall and pet house at th17
@@Red7914I don’t see why the player would need to merge them. I think the much simpler and obvious solution is to reduce the number of collectors but keep the hourly production rate. Kinda like the barracks change that was made however long ago.

Also th17 weapon does burn damage not poison damage. This means the weapon does damage but doesn't slow down troops.
I think the thrower actually works pretty well as a ranged troop behind a tank because since we now have fire spitters that can sometimes hit through targets, a mini tank like that can help so it doesn’t just die quickly from them like some glass cannon troops

Yes of course. I do it once a year but I wait a number of weeks for the meta to stabilise so we really can bring you the best bases, not hastily release it then them not be good.

an interesting use case of the revive spell i've been experimenting with is using the king to set a funnel early, and once the rest of the army has moved past him, reviving to clean up. i'm also a big vampstache user so he has the opportunity to heal up further.
in general it seems like a mechanic targeted at more casual players, giving them an opportunity to fix an attack that went wrong, but i think the recall spell is more versatile towards that end.
I understand that merging buildings is necessary, but let’s face it the eagle has not been merged with the town hall. The eagle has been removed from the game completely and this merging of the eagle with the town hall feels a little dishonest. You merge 2 archer towers or 2 canons and you still have an archer tower or a canon that just functions slightly differently. The eagle is not present in any shape or form really

Merging of TH and EA, was expecting TH with a inferno and artillery together and doubling the HP so that it will be hard to take out but now TH is the most easiest meta Defence to take out,+without Giga bomb 🙂 the more challenging to take out the TH is the more interesting it would be But now it can easily 3 star, and the Firesplitter it looks like one of the Defence in the Unlimited version of CoC (Hacked version) CRAZY!!!
26:50 i think many old players dont like apprentice because all of their achievements are already done and they have used that gem before so now they actually have to pay or wait and save a lot of gem which doesn't seem worth it
The thing with merging the eagle and townhall is that its essentially worse no matter how good the town hall weapon is at th17. You can just freeze it, before youd have to freeze two different locations / defenses. Now its just one freeze you need for something that is already a tad underwhelming.
I honestly think that after the second level of the Giga bomb you should get access to affects like lvl 2 would unlock lock freeze affect like th13 then the third upgrade would unlock the poison affect etc.

As a town hall 13 player who was seriously struggling with the problems associated with hero's either upgrading or base , all I can say is so far it's a horrible new town hall personally for me. With a nice new hero I've now got to find the dark elixir for 10 more levels when I was already struggling with 25 levels of Royal Champion. Add this to the fact that my next town hall will now be even harder!!!!! The cost reduction were on the face of it nice and the new town hall looks stunning but where is the real love for the people in the town hall 11 to 14 bracket. Now we need even more ore and I can't find enough and can really only now going forward afford a battle pass. Hopefully the battle pass will improve to help players like me. As for F2P ouch this is now impossible and I go back to an American TH-cam channel when his revolting statement of please F2P come back and at least upgrade your resources for us when you ultimately go away....... that I'm afraid was probably the same view as SuperCell........Jonn

I wish they've removed like 4 mortars instead of removing the most interesting defense from the game and replacing it with something that looks NOTHING like it
I feel they should’ve done this with the mortar as they are basically useless in the higher town halls and their only purpose ever is kind of just the flame flinger but the eagle artillery is a bit crazy since it feels like a downgrade to get rid of a full range op defense just to make the town hall weapon slightly better and automatically activated. The eagle is such a major defense and provided diversity and more strategy, now it feels like as if you could just spam everything in. For their future though I think going with wizard merges or mortar merges are a good idea as they are either dead average or kind of bad compared to other defenses. *What are you personal opinions on this judo?*

Yeah they did reduce some but I agree, it mainly looked like the level up to Level 40
I don’t think TH17 should’ve merged with the Eagle but I also don’t think it should’ve merged with the mortars. To me it makes more sense for it to merge with a multi mortar(you’d be able to gear up another mortar at TH17 Dw) because the TH17 weapon seems like a multi lava launcher that homes.

Even though I am at a lower th level it still brings excitement and never makes the game boring because we usually get some of the content too like for example new troops to use in the clan castle or new spells.
With the Hero Hall I don’t think we should still be required to need a builder to upgrade heroes. You can upgrade troops, spells, and pets, and now heroes in their own building so it seems silly to still need a builder for a hero.
Also since you now have to upgrade the hall itself at every TH to access new Heroes or higher levels getting rid of the need for a builder could justify that change
I think the Town Hall needs +4600 hp, and make it do double the damage
The revive spell could be useful for farming, sending heroes in to die for loot revive, pop abilites and leave the match, getting more value for heroes and spending less time waiting for them to regen
I’m a th15 player with max th14 heroes sometimes I get up to 40-50% with just heroes and their abilities and no spells it, could be fun to just do hero/revive spells for farming with goblins
Could have merged wizard towers for a bigger one, a chaining lightning kinda effect would have been cool but we got two turtles instead.
Idea for the giga bomb, you can place it on any building and like the supercharge, it gave it like a red glow so it wouldn’t be unfair in the places you could put it

Something I found out while using sneakies after the update, the helper hut counts as a resource building. You'll have your sneakies prioritize it over anything else like it does for any other resource buildings
Since we need to upgrade hero hall now, hero update should be like laboratory and not occupy builders.
27:15 They can add those helpers in Super troops place where 2 separate button will separate ST & Helpers, it can be done without any problem to scenery!

Haven't watched further (hoping it's mentioned) but honestly the biggest issue is that there's now no poison or slow in the townhall or the giga bomb trap and that is such a massive loss on defence and certain strats are busted

I feel like a lot of people complain about the townhall weapon not really being a stronger eagle. But the idea about th 17 was to spread the defenses instead of there being an area of denial in the core.
Yes, it is weaker in itself, but the overall strength of TH17 when maxed is way more powerful than TH16 was

As an older player, there is now so much to check before I attack, that the 30 seconds cooldown is gone before I’m ready. Usually end up clicking next. A slider bar to allow 45 seconds for players that like to plan would be handy

Personally th17 is the one i am the least excited about. I was very hyped for the new hero but I thought he would be much more special like completely new mechanics or a very specific usecase. Now its just a flying archer queen. Not a big deal. I was actually way more excited about the spirit fox and even the angry jelly, because of its unique usecase. So I hope players will find a tactical approach where the MP ist key like the warden or the queen for the warden/queen walk. Just to spam the hero within my dragons will not get me hyped. Maybe the equipment will make that hero unique so the MP is the focus of a attack and defines a new attack strategy

I think the best use case for the revive spell would be similar to the recall... Like if the hero dies at a specific place and you wait until your army has moved in and revive the hero to execute a different purpose of support for the army whereas at the first maybe it was a suicidal hero dive...
So it might be a situational recall spell in some cases, but only for one hero which might look similar to the recall attacks we all know about.
Also, some good strategies involving this spell may require to turn off the "use ability on k.o" button, which seems really interesting...
Anyways these are my thoughts
This is such a nit pick but I miss when the bases fit a theme. Upgrades are so long not everything has one with a new TH and now stuff isn't as satisfying. My favorite thing used to be seeing new themes with the townhalls but the highest two townhalls are just a hodgepodge of colors.

imo the revive spell is used to ensure the attack go smoothly. for instance when you're doing an fireball attack, its common that your grand warden will die after delivering the fireball, but then you loses the rage effect for your main army, supposed it's super witch or root riders or anything. ait might be possible that you will have it remains after the battle if all four of hero is still alive, then maybe we can have it in the clan castle.

I think the firespitter is their second attempt at creating the scattershot. When TH13 first dropped they introduced the scattershot as something that can be a threat to your back line as well. But in practice the shrapnel just does not do enough damage and range to pose a threat to any squishier troops so the scattershot ended up just being a more powerful mortar. It’s interesting now to see a defense with massive range and limited directions and does full damage to any back line. Would be interesting to see how the original TH13 vision turns out

I think the main reason people might not be afraid of the giga bomb as much is because of that powerful poison effect is missing. previously after destroying the TH, even if you use warden tome or have high hp troop to tank that blast. the poison slow down for such a long time would give other defenses a lot of time to deal massive damage to the troops stuck in the poison effect
The only thing that I hated about the update was the developers being stingy and TH-camrs not sharing the information they had sooner. I was a new TH 16 during hammer jam and I was upgrading my defenses and not knowing that I had to upgrade one of my heroes to the highest level possible. This information was released the night before the update dropped. My Queen was level 88 the entire time during the hammer jam and after the update, I got level 9 hero hall with level 60 MP. Now I have to upgrade the hero hall for 12 days and work MP for two months just to get it level 70. TH-camrs could tell us: just upgrade one of your heroes to highest level possible during the hammer jam because it's going to be beneficial for you after the update drops.
