When you look into the history of the original piece, _St Luke Passion, BWV 246,_ its association with memory becomes all the more apt. Although commonly attributed to Bach, it is generally believed that this is not the case. Though a manuscript of the piece features writing that is almost certainly of Bach's hand, it is unlikely that the music itself is his. Numerous candidates for its composer have been put forward, including Johann Melchior Molter, though this is unlikely as _St Luke Passion_ has been dated to 1730, whereas if Molter had composed it, it would have been written at a later date.
Ultimately, who composed this piece remains unknown. Until enough information can be gathered through written sources and research to confirm its creator, _St Luke Passion_ remains a mystery, 'adrift' without its attribution.

It’s been a while since I’ve listened to it, but not a day has gone by that I haven’t thought about it.
I’m back because I don’t want to die, and I thought otherwise only hours ago. I imagined how it would happen. I’d get in the car and drive down the road, and then I’d swerve into the telephone pole in the middle of the street, fully killing myself in such a small vehicle.
I got in the car, but I never started it. I just sat there and thought. I’m ashamed of who I am. I was a good person. I know that. But I hurt someone, someone that I love so dearly. I can’t even express how sorry I am, but I thought perhaps it was justice to die like that. And I’d stop doing the world harm if I just ended it.
But I didn’t. Not because I believe that I deserve to live, not because I forgive myself, but because I’m a coward. I couldn’t do it.
Now I’m not sure what to do, so I’m back here looking for answers.

This bit is close to a small church's recording of The Passion according to St. Luke. For non Christians, let me explain. It's a piece by Bach (though it's debated if Bach really wrote it) about the book of Luke in the Bible. Specifically its about the death of Christ (whom Christians believe gained access to Heaven for all of humanity). But the original is in German and this is clearly English. Search youtube for the original sample. It's similarly haunting and is love to get my hands on the original album.
German rev here and caretaker sating it isn't the one he used.

The song encapsulates the loss and sadness Luke (and Christians) felt after the death of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. So yeah.. for a musician where loss is featured as a primary motif and theme of his work... this piece seems pretty decent to sample.
