I found out what that USB port is on the Pedal Commander. Its how the manufacturer programs the device for your specific car before shipping. It's useless for us.

That’s hilarious, now I don’t feel bad about breaking that under guard when I installed my pedal commander 😆 I just tucked mine behind the center console side cover and use my phone if I ever want to check or adjust it. I found that Sport+ +2 is really responsive for me.

Hahaha, I expect most owners to break that cover. Its hard to remove and install without stressing that thin bridge between the two main covers. Maserati should have made those 2 separate pieces.

from being connected only to pedal it cannot do anything but change pedal response curve
for example you press 1degree - car sees it like 3degree
and obviously nothing more, it cannot improve 0-60, it can make car more nervous and dangerous though 😉
press your pedal more aggressively and you’ll have same or better results ;)
    anyway, thanks for great video!

I have an 2015 sq4 and in traffic while behind a slower car when i go to overtake and you push in the gas, you can feel the turbo lag and then the car kick off. Im more interested if this help with that?

You can get by the turbo lag by going into manual mode and down shifting before you hit the gas pedal. As long as your RPMs are above 3000K you will feel the boost. Also a Pedal Commander will give you almost instant throttle response in sport mode. So higher RPM + Pedal Commander = FUN!

Thanks for this Great Video, question: I installed JB4 yet, so do you really field a positive different to recommend to install the Pedal Commander?

    • @JamesDIYGarage

Yes. I do, not from a standstill start, but throttle response during driving is excellent.

How is the JB4 tune tho?

I hqve been playing around with it, and it does feel like it makes a significant difference. I have not had a chance to organize some p
0 - 60 times and compare log readings between different maps. But so far I am liking the JB4 especially combined with the pedal commander.

so is it worth doing? I'm mostly interested in quick response for jetting around in traffic

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes. It is. Pedal response is fantastic. Conbine it with JB4 and you have quite the thrilling drive.

@@JamesDIYGarage I don't know about a tuner though. I've heard too many stories about it putting strain and people having issues on previously reliable cars. I think there is a reason why Maserati tunes the cars to a certain limit personally. Heck, that's the main difference between the base and the S isn't it. The timing can get off etc if the hardware isn't made for it as well I think. Have you have any reliability issues since you tuned yours?
