But do you know when the order was served??? The Kano Government said by the time the governor had assented to the bill and reinstated Sanusi there was no court order. The court order became known to them a day after, and that's the day the governor performed the ceremonial function of reinstating Sanusi. This man needs more facts.

This man is not a lawyer but was able to explain it in manner that makes sense. Senior lawyers explain it in ways to represent their interests in court of public opinions.

Bringing sanusi by kwankwaso into the royal equation is the beginning of this problem.
Sanusi is a very controversial man

The beginning of this problem was the dethronement of Emir Sanusi by Ex-Gov Ganduje

Mr. Law Mefọ displayed arrant ignorance of the subject matter under discussion. Thanks goodness that he issued the disclaimer, over his introduction as a lawyer, before he began his rant. Granted that no evidence exists that Kano state government disobeyed any court order on this matter, Mefọ is still wrong that every court order must be obeyed even if the issuing court has no jurisdiction to hear the case. Had a traffic court issued this order, would Mefọ have thought that it ought to have been obeyed? Jurisdiction is a serious determinant of the validity of any court order or decision. Where jurisdiction is not clear, it must be determined at the onset through hearing, before the court assumes the case in toto. Here (US), entertaining a case in which court X has no jurisdiction is an automatic ground for reversal of that court's order/decision/conviction (if a criminal case); it is a sanctionable act if it is repetitive by a judge.

I totally agree with you... the Mefor guy was a round peg in the square hole, at many levels.

That's always the problem when you consult an individual whose knowledge of the topic in issue is acutely deficient. You will now be left with nothing other than ignorance and confusion. He doesn't know anything about the law and the history of the kano Emirate system .

Do you mean that Dr Mefor, is making no sense to you. Either you're a bad student or you just decided to undermine or underrate the man, otherwise, the man has given more insight than your so called professional legal personnel.

Where did Emir Sanusi gone wrong for advising d former Ganduje administration to look into how to improve d welfare of d vulnerables known as Almajiris in Kano?
Bcs of lack of parental care & poor administration, most of diz Almajiris have become threats to d society & Nigeria @ large.
It's unfortunate dt Ganduje bn one of doz governors who doesn't care about moving Kano & Nigeria forward interns of good governance went on concentrating on traditional affairs in d state instead of focusing on free education, youth employment, insecurities, poverties, illiteracy, etc.
President Tinubu needs to be careful about d way some of diz governors & politicians are misbehaving in governance in their various states.
Does it mean Nigerians have no right to tell d government if they're going wrong in their governance?
Why are d politicians especially some of diz governors so desperate to d extent of equating themselves as God in their states & Nigeria?

I'm still puzzled about the rationale in bringing a social activist, Dr. Law Mefor, to "analyze" the legal issues currently playing out in the Kano Islamic emirate. At the very least, Mefor should have been adequately informed about the case itself and sufficiently knowledgeable on the Nigerian juris prudence. I'm not a lawyer either but I have followed the trajectory of the drama which actually started with some Judge who had hurriedly issued an injunction on a case "brought before his court room in Kano", whereas , at the time, the judge was physically vacationing in the USA.
Also, how can a federal judge entertain and make a "ruling" on a litigation where he clearly lacked the jurisdiction in the first place. I told you guys the Nigerian judiciary is a mockery of the legal profession and deserves the "Rawlings" revolution.

This is very unfortunate for a recognized TV station hosting a such empty host! He's telling lies and just exposing his ignorance towards the issue.
He's not a lawyer neither a Kano or not up to date of the Saga and let him rants anyhow.
If you are to make it a debate You guys should bring some one from the other thought of perspective.
I'm ashamed of you, Arise News😡
