Spiffing video Sir!! The HCav Band or as I like to jokingly call it "The Trombone Cavalry Band", sounding brilliantly today! Some Powerful Bass Trombone Today as well, at 2:25 and again at 3:48, of course can't forget about 5:50 ! Powerful and fabulous Start to "Glorious Victory" at 6:48! Quite the surprise to see the Band returning in such awful weather! I see my very good friend AFV marching along on the pavement too!
Thanks very much Delvin! Yes, I thought the "Trombone Cavalry" were very much "on form". I saw "AFV", together with "Military Events", right at the end for a brief chat, and they were also both amazed that the return march, including the band playing, still went ahead. I think most of the woodwind instruments were playing, which added to the surprise.
Doh, I feel for you! That weather! Especially as you’d commented about missing Tuesdays offering having listened to the weather forecast. Nevertheless it’s a fab video and you’ve captured the marvellous impact of those deeply powerful instruments. The sound as they disappear down the street is magical. Many thanks for braving the elements and giving us this opportunity to see and listen👍
Hi AnnofWales, and many thanks for the comment (and sympathy!). Every visit is a bit of a gamble at the moment - the only certainty is the tedium of my train journeys. I'm really glad you enjoyed the video - hopefully there'll be some "brighter" ones before too long, and (just in case you didn't know) after this weekend they'll be in their "summer" uniforms.
Hello Forbes, and thanks for the suggestion of using a selfie stick. I know that parts of my videos are shaky. I can see circumstances where a selfie stick would get rid of shakiness and also enable one better to film over the tops of crowds etc. However, a selfie stick would be more appropriate if I were using a smartphone for the filming, but I'm not - I'm using a small digital camera or camcorder, both of which need 2 firm hands on the device to make adjustments. Much of the shakiness is when I'm using very high zoom, and some of it is where I'm being jostled by the crowds. I could of course cut these bits out, but I don't want to lose any of the music.
If the household calvery are meant to be the Monarch private Army what happens if they dont comply in the event of being needed ? it doesnt look if they have many soldiers anyway and you cant expect the police to arrest them for not obeying orders, look at the difference if stature and fitness of the two bodies. not only that we are hearing of people being told to remove national flaggs because its upsetting some member of our population or is this all totally untrue ? can anyone clarify this please?
