I feel the exact same way as Sydney, with always writing a book in your head and saying words when imagining something. As a maladaptive daydreamer, it's kind of a problem when i found out other people imagine pictures in their head, but before that i had never experienced anything else.

They should do an OTV video series of becoming spies. So they already did the drifting to they got defensive driving down. They did parkour, they got that down, but now they need like knife throwing and like evasion tactics. It'd be a fun video where they try to put on disguises and hide from people tracking them.

I learned at 27 I have a comprehension learning disability. After reading the documentation on my unnamed disability I broke down for a week. Finally my struggles in how my brain thinks became clear and why back and forth conversations can be so hard randomly.
I only learned this cause I went back to college for a new career path and people thought I was undiagnosed add. It really turned my life around and able to know when my learning disability is showing itself and how to react positively instead of shutting down has been a godsend.
It is still a struggle but I get where Sydney is coming from having your whole life turned upside down and starting to make sense. It is a feeling so few people I'm sure experience but if you have healthy relationships around you it can be so refreshing and easy to change your day to day struggles.

So I just watched "Children of Men"
And it was the greatest film I've seen
The cinematography, the production, acting on top. Oners/long takes are impressive, imagine the amount of effort they gave for those. I know they can do hidden cuts but i didnt notice a thing it's very smooth. The whole meaning of the film about humanity is amazing and it's perfectly expressed.
I'll watch and read more analysis, breakdowns and behind the scenes of this. So cool
    Watch it too everyone!!
Thank you brodin! Suggest us some more movies, or even make some more movies! i like the otv horror film, you've already got actors haha

me and my 2 best friends of 10 years are a trio and i wholeheartedly think the only reason it works so well is because they are sisters. if they weren't i don't think it would work as well. that way i don't ever feel like "well.. they spend more time together" because they live together and whenever we want to do something its almost always all three of us together

I think a way to help Syd how to understand is the movie 'Chaos Walking' with Tom Holland I feel that might be a good example to show, how non-aphantasia may talk to themselves? Also you could do a video with people who has aphantasia and who doesn't. So Syd, Rae and Scarra with Jobi Brodin and Starmitter.

The having to shit in bookstores thing is interesting. I don't really go to bookstores like ever, but I do write (I read too), and when I sit down and get into writing, I very often have to take a shit like 5 minutes in. I wonder if that's somewhat related to this phenomenon. I figured it just has to do with concentration and using my brain.

i think the no internal monologue thing can but doesn't have to be a part of aphantasia. as someone with aphantasia, i can hear a voice that is neither mine nor anyone else's as my internal monologue and its the only voice i can ever imagine in any (meaningful) capacity. i can't even tell you if the voice sounds more masculine or feminine. i do however also have adhd and the voice of my internal monologue does almost like overlap with it self sometimes. like if i start thinking of a new thing before i stop thinking about the previous thing it does overlap. i can't imagine any other sounds tho. just that one voice. if a song is stuck in my head i can't hear it. its more so that i can't stop thinking about it and can't stop wanting to hum/sing/click my tongue to the beat of that song.
edit: i do talk out loud to myself a lot or mouth the words tho bcs its easier than an actual internal monologue lmao

I also recently realized I have aphantasia and no internal monologue. For the longest time I didn't think when people were saying to picture something or visualize it, that they meant it literally, or that they actually heard their own voice in their head with an internal monologue. I always figured it was just a figure of speech.

The pooping at the bookstore thing is because you probably read in the bathroom, whether it's in the tub or on the toilet so your mind associates books with bathroom. The same thing happened to me with tobacco pouches when I was 17. My parents would freak out if they saw me with one so during the day the only time I could have one was in the shower or pooping. As I got older every time I put a pouch in I had to poop or visa versa. Even after I quit I still had this mouth fixation thing so I had to chew gum for a long time... only when I was pooping.

Sydney!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have exactly the same thing. I can be sitting at the table talking to someone and daydream at the same time. Or imagine a bus running through the window at a cafe and having like an actual physical reaction to this scenario that's in my head. That's precisely the reason I can't watch horror movies and play scary games. When I was 12 I would always imagine a thing with an eye from War of the Worlds crashing my window and taking me through it. Also same with music. I can play a song in my head and hear it in real world and be like "what is that?" and than understand that's an illusion, i didn't actually hear it in reality. Can hear a diffferent voice in my head though.

its interesting to think how well humans have evolved to work together, to most people aphantasia sounds like a disfunction, but if you think about it they could describe something in incredible detail to someone without aphantasia and that person could interpret the description into imagery for themselves and you can understand how that would be helpful for cavemen and the likes (and in modern times obvs but I was looking from an evolutionary perspective).
