    Would like to know how to cut the stem of the glass

      @CraftSuppliesUSA  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A Dremel with a diamond wheel will cut through easily.

    Great video!! Your presentation and the camera angles are first class. You do look like you are a little nervous or maybe hurried. Don't be. You are a very very good woodturner and one of the best if not THE best woodturning presenter on the planet, seriously.

    Another sensational video! You're definitely the very best presenter! Love the great tips and technique ideas. Definitely going to see if I can find some of the glasses here in Australia! Would love to make a few of these from some of the really hard hardwood we have here. Just not sure I'm skilled enough to do that yet!!! Any tips on turning really hard wood would be great!!!

      Hey Alan,
      Give it a shot! Wine glasses out of the Aussie woods you guys have would be spectacular! I've got some Eucalyptus Burl I'm saving for a special project. -Mike 😊

      @@CraftSuppliesUSA Thanks mate!! I’d love to try it with some Queensland Gidgee wood which is stunning! But sooooo hard!! Would love to see a video from you about turning with very hard hardwood! Especially since the wine glass stems will need special attention!

    Two questions: first, please clarify the silicone adhesive you recommend; second, could you not simply use a stemless wine glass and adhere it to your custom turned stem? Thank you-and great job, per your usual standard!

    • @CraftSuppliesUSA
      @CraftSuppliesUSA  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey PBpleased,
      You could definitely use a stemless wine glass, I would just make sure the turned surface matches the profile of the glass to maximize the support. The adhesive I used was this: www.woodturnerscatalog.com/p/71/7119/red-devil-Clear-RTV-Silicone-Adhesive-Sealant

    Can you sand the tenon for the very final fit to the stem?

    • @CraftSuppliesUSA
      @CraftSuppliesUSA  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Eric, You can sand the tenon for the final fit. The wood will compress a little more than if it was turned so take that into account when getting the fit. 😊 -Mike
