Watching......... watching....... watching....... noting tips........ watching....... watching....... 8:30 watching....... *jaw-drop.* LOOK at the grain in that little handle! That looks awesome! This is why I love these videos. The BOOM POW factor hits you when you least expect it.
I think I've mentioned it before, but I so miss being at sea. Nothing like a cup of coffee as the sun rises on a tranquil ocean, horizon to horizon, all around... the constant humming of the ship, the deep blue and the aquamarine wash in the prop wake. I could go on and on. Good days and bad are all longed for now by this retired Marine. Thoughts stirred up with a cup of go juice.... Thanks brother! Semper Fi
Some say, "Why 'waste' such effort on something so mundane?" I say, "Filling my life with such beauty is a thing devoutly to be wished." Thanks for demonstrating beauty can be anywhere. Excellent job, as usual.
Wow, you be my hero. My two favorite woods, all real time video, and a very nice project. Added to that some great work from several of your subs. Being the segmenter that I am I also liked your coffee mug coaster (the mug isn't bad either). A great way to get a Friday going. Thank you for sharing.
Both handles look gorgeous. The African blackwood shines up like ebony & the grain on the purpleheart has some lovely grain. I enjoyed seeing these come together in real-time.
My daughter thinks it's awesome to comment so I usually ask what she wants to say. She says "those are super nice handles and they turned out really good."
Thank you for another of your wonderful videos. I watched this while enjoying my own cup of freshly-brewed coffee, and it greatly enhanced my pleasure. Rod, you exemplify the motto of William Morris, the great Arts and Crafts designer: "Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." Your coffee scoops meet both requirements.
I would never get tired of watching your videos, even if I lived to be a hundred years old. Yes, I reckon coffee is a food group - no doubt about that!
Small, simple projects are as important as the big ones, they tend to clear the mind and wet the appetit for the larger more intricate projects. It is always a treat to watch you work and the end results are amazing. Thank you.
Ahhhhhh coffee, my all time favorite beverage. The handles are very nice and I especially like the cork idea, can't wait to give it a try. Enjoy your weekend & thanks again for sharing.
I adore Purple Heart wood. It is so beautiful. One day I’m going to get a box made of African Blackwood. Love these handles. I like the cork trick. I never drank coffee until I joined the military. Now I don’t know what I’d do without it. I’d never make through one of our weeks long military exercises without it or any of my deployments.
Sorry I missed your message about going in to surgery. I'm glad you're doing well and recovering quickly. Don't overdo - we can stand to wait to see you back to full health.
nice project brother . sometimes its the simple projects that give us the most joy . love the wood purple heart is one of my favorite woods for its beauty . good job .
The wood choice for the two - fantastic, and the finish on both comparable to a well oiled stock. The real time turning was enjoyable all the way through. Thank you for this trip with you. Semper Fi! Black Rifle coffee.....Freedom Blend - Dark Roast......as a food group, yes
My first thought this morning "there is going to be a new video posted today" 🙂 I loved the real time you were able to show us, with it being smaller projects. I look forward to seeing more of your "non-bowl" work in future videos.
coffee comes from beans which are a vegetable, which makes it practically salad. Therefore coffee is good for you. Lovely little project well executed, thanks
Sorry I am only getting to watch this now I have been busy this weekend with a surprise 70th birthday party for my Dad but it's been worth the wait you say it's an easy project but sometimes the straight forward stuff is the hardest to get a good finish on it. But you knocked it outta the park again Rod, fantastic job ps not a fan of coffee lol and only getting onto tea lol
Thanks, Rod. I think I'll have a cup or two this morning in honor of you and your service. I like Sumatran or Costa Rican, and Semper Fidelis, sir. Edit: Damned straight coffee is a food group!
