That's what I have been thinking about from hermitcraft someone is always running out of shulker space but have a button to press & get like a bunch all at once would be so nice compared to having to craft say 200 by hand

Hoppers filter based on placement and what's inside. If you name dirt different things and put them in some of the slots, and the slots of the hoppers below have differently named dirt, they wont sort down. Controlling flow is as easy as putting these named dirts in as many slots as needed and one of the objects youre controlling flow. A simple and very early game use of a crafter is just to store 64 items of each material needed for a pickaxe inside of it, and with a button dispense them one at a time. Now with one block you had effectively stored 64 pickaxes! Now imagine this small contraption at the beginning of your strip mine. If you're like me that mines until their pickaxe breaks, you've effectively 64x your output just using one block!
With the changes to pots and the addition of auto-crafters, anyone on a multiplayer server could start a large-scale delivery service much earlier and more easily than before!(why does it feel like Hermitcraft’s Amazon parodies are a bit on the nose now? 😂)
u can autocraft chests from bamboo farms, have a shulker farm nearby and have an infinite supply of shulker boxes to load up harvests from all your other farms and put those filled up shulkers in ur storage system
THANK YOU.. I’ve been looking everywhere for someone to break down a simple way to turn ingots into blocks and no one up until you explained it simply!!!
Honestly, for most of these its much easier to just craft it yourself. The only major cases I can immediately think of are gold farms (nugget to ingot to block), iron farms (ingot to block), and wheat farms (wheat to hay) to prevent inventory clutter. Types like the sugar cane one are moderately useful too but dont compact anything, so its less useful. Things like flower into dye are literally just doubling inventory clutter, so its less than useless imo
It’s really handy for larger builds when you need thousands of blocks. It’d also be great to have rockets. It saves time by letting you build or explore instead of crafting the basic things you’re tired of making.
@It-b-Blair i could see big builds work for that, but farming those materials will typically be 99% of the time anyways. Only saves the 1% of time the way i see it
What about for a honey farm? The dispenser loads honey bottles into the auto crafter which makes the honey block and returns the empty bottles to the original dispenser. Then you don't need endless supplies of bottles and endless storage for bottles waiting for you to compact them into blocks.
You could use it to craft golden carrots by connecting your gold farm to carrots moving through a nether portal where on the overworld side there is an auto carrot farm with villagers. Unlimited very good source of food
They feed from the top and sides, with the exception of the face. What I want to know is, will a hopper under the bottom pull out items from the crafting grid? If so, definitely could have some uses there as well.
Wattles you should design and build an auto crafter wall that makes every possible cobblestone stone and smooth stone block in the game. Use furnaces to smelt then craft. So you can get all the stone items when you input cobble to the system or if you put in smooth stone or stone it goes straight to their spot
Crafting is part of the magic of Minecraft and auto crafting is far from what original Minecraft is, it's auto crafting first then before you know it players will have nothing to do because everything will be automated
I believe the best addition in version 1.21 is the auto-crafter. Minecraft should also introduce an auto block placer and miner; that would be really cool. Imagine a block where you could place your pickaxe, and it would automatically break the block in front of it with the power of the pickaxe. If it has efficiency 3, it would break it faster. Additionally, an auto block placer could be introduced where you put the block you want to place, and it will be automatically set in it's position.
For the major farms, it'd be great. I can already see myself making a skeleton farm, breaking the bones down into bonemeal, then condensing the bonemeal into bone blocks for storage. Taking the gold farm and smelting down gold swords into nuggets, combining them with nuggets dropped from zombified piglins, condensing them into ingots, then finally into gold blocks for storage. Finally, taking all the iron ingots from my iron farm and automatically condensing them into iron blocks. So much better storage.
Hey I’d love to see how you managed to make that hopper auto crafting machine. I feel like if that process could be done with swords and tools and stuff like that. It’d be a big game changer

Have a tree farm feed underground to your mine area (Hopper to dropper straight down to hopper) into an autocrafter fed by stone storage. You could autocraft cobblestone pickaxes while you mine. If only there was a way to have enchanting tables, anvil, etc. interact directly to either the autocrafter or hopper. Then you could automate enchanting, repairing, etc. Imagine setting up a storage system that autocrafts and enchants items for you. Or throw a half broken pickaxe and it cycles through the anvil (repair), then into an enchanting table (enchant), then dispensing it back to you. If you have all the materials fed into it, I don't see why not. You could set the enchanting up to use what level by a lever that puts out a 1 to 3 output (redstone or comparator) for what level enchantment you want.
Integrate the crafter into a storage system which sees which items you take out so it fills the items back up. Take out 40 oak stairs? Crafter gets a signal and creates 40 new ones.
Is there a 1 block Redstone clock or Metronome? If not thats what the game needs next for tinkering. Would help beginners get into simple redstone without ot the complex redstone understanding.
I made a whole machine where using an auto smelter at the start to smelt sand into glass you funnel that into the crafter for glass bottles, had to add an item filter because it runs on lava buckets then the bottles get stored in chests until a minecart and chest come along and are loaded up with the bottles that lead to another area where i have my bee farm which then loads into said bee farm and fills them with honey creating honey bottles and from there storing them down below the farm itself in barrels for later use
I wanna see a machine that auto crafts the chests for the hoppers then autocrafts the autocrafter 😄 this thing is so cool. Hook the machines up to an auto tree farm and your iron farm, continuous automation. Its so sicccck!

You can combine tools/armor in the crafting grid too, if you don't need to keep the enchantment.

I might have missed it, but did you mention you can use the autocrafter to make autocrafters?
Minecraft Is slowly becoming satisfactory
Autocrafter isn't game changing but definitely will change the way I play. I can't wait till this things genuinely in the game.
Always the most quality content !
I cant wait to wire my mob farms into an auto crafter network.
Only 2 days until fully automatic XP bank with the kelp blocks becomes available
