My brother was a paraplegic and he thought this was the funniest shit ever. He thought it was great that people in his situation could be represented in the realm of comedy just like anybody else. Sadly he's gone but that dude had one helluva sense of humor. His outlook on life was one we should all try to embrace.
If you've ever heard Damon Wayans talk about this skit its pretty heart-warming. He couldn't believe people found it offensive(yes they did even at the time, cancel culture is nothing new its just amplified with social media). That was why he did it, he thought it would be empowering to see someone disabled being a superhero.. he wasn't wrong. One of my good friends growing up had MS, and I was afraid this skit was going to kill him with laughter 🤣... He nearly made me piss myself a few times playing Handiman, it was his halloween costume EVERY year. Well that wasn't the only reason they did this skit... it was also funny as hell, and still is. I'm nearly in tears again... miss ya Chad!
As a legally blind man, I love this. I can see we’ll enough up close, can’t see we’ll enough to drive kinda vision. The more offensive and honest, the better. Saw Blankman in the theatre and had a cardboard cut-out of him in my room.
Speaking as a disabled guy, this is awesome. I'm tired of not being represented in comedy. It's like people don't want to acknowledge that I exist. It's insulting. A handicapped superhero? That is so bad-ass!
Just commented this on another post by I'm an ex heroin addict that died twice and had my life destroyed from it. I LOVE jokes about drug addicts the most! I've cried countless times from friends dying and wrecking my life but now I choose laughter
I'm just glad that Handi-Man actually DID save the day. Also, "Looks like someone's about to join the ranks of the disabled!" is a pretty badass battle-cry for him to have!
These shows are very valuable and should be archived there’s a good chance they won’t be making anything like this for another 20 or 30 years till the world pulls it head out of its own ass
Me cheeks hurt that was so very funny ..him.flying past the window ..the good old days ..love you guys you are the best thanku so much love and God bless always x
I think you are right. Shows like this could never be produced today. A black, lesbian superhero called "Angrywoman" and "Handi-man"? Not a chance, sadly. Please do more of these!
You freakin' geniuses!!! Just stumbled upon your channel last night. F my degrees/profession...when I grow up I want to be YOUS TWO! You guys seriously tapped in to "laughter is the best medicine"...and you do it for a living FT?!?!!! BRILLIANT!!! Brought needed joy/laughter to my life in these backward days. Sincerely, THANK YOU!!!.
This is bringing me back to my youth. I'm 37 now and I remember this being on late at night. I always thought in living color was just as good if not even better than SNL much of the time.
I've never seen much of In Living Color, but I was laughing so hard that my face and abs hurt, and I now have a headache from crying due to laughing so hard.
Omg. I watched this as a kid & it helped me laugh thru a lot of pain. I agree times have changes but my personal history to get me where I am today, I am happy for.
Blankman was originally supposed to be the Handiman movie but the film studio made them change the name because it was too insensitive. So the Wayans made the best of what they were allowed to do.
OMG! I totally forgot about that! We would talk about this show in school after every Sunday show. I don't want to search for head detective, just in case the boys watch it here.
@@Baychimo how? He said it was funny. Just imagine all the snowflakes watching this nowadays lmao. The Wayans brothers even said in an interview that if In living color was ever revived this is one character they wouldn't be able to bring to TV anymore.
I wish this was still on, what a hilarious damn show. This would be by far better than any of the garbage there showing now. What a talented group of people.
Before Chappelle Show and ILC there was the original cast of SNL from 1975 - 1980. Check out "Word Association - Saturday Night Live" starring Chevy Chase and Richard Pryor, from an episode in 1975.
Oh hell yeah guys!!! I went as him for Halloween in 1993 and tried to do the voice when I said trick or treat. I was 9. Everyone laughed but kids really did not know who I was because most parents wouldn't let their kids stay up and watch in living color.
God, your reactions to this was priceless, and I was cracking up right along with you! It is so wrong, but yet it is so right. This sketch was never intended to be malicious towards the handicapped, in fact, the complete opposite is true. "Oh, looks like someone's about to join the ranks of the disabled!" 😂🤣 Handi-Man is a badass! Love your guys' reactions.
Oh I forgot about handyman. I used to love in living color when I was young. I don’t think they would allow this on tv these days.I love how he barely falls out the window
_Those were the days, when TV was square, and laughing at something like this didn't mean you HATED handicapped people... I feel sorry for today's delicate young folks having to grow up in such a soft world._
OMG...I damn near woke the whole house up laughing! I forgot that skit, always loved the show. Funny then, even funnier now. No one I knew would've put up with someone being an asshat to a disabled person but to see a fictional superhero created just for them was comedy gold...and overdue now
I miss when people used to be able to laugh at themselves and everyone else. We all knew it wasn't meant to harm anyone and we all did and still respect people with disabilities.
You know it’s a good video when you have to watch it twice. The first time I didn’t see any of the video because I was too busy watching you two fall off your couch.
Because most ppl werent so weenie-fied, sensitive & offended by everything back then (if they were offended no one really gave a damn). They were a small percentage of the country & didnt have social media or really any pull to do much about it. The Wayans had creative control on In living color, but they still had to fight the network on some things. And there were some censorship campaigns against certain groups/bands/singers- etc which is where the explicit lyrics warning came from. Same type of ppl tried to get Married with Children taken off the air & a Madonna video pulled from MTV (Just like a prayer). It was always the same ppl pushing it, christian conservative womens groups & men that backed them. Same type of ppl who caused alcohol prohibition decades before. Almost forgot the "dont buy Proctor & Gamble products because they're devil worshippers" ordeal, or some bullshit cant remember the whole situation on that one because I was too young at that time. The weak minded, constantly offended, and attitude of being "victims" of this or that dont make the world go around. They make it shut down & go to shit

Awesome brother
Wow
BLANKMAN!!!😂😂
This shit is still so damn funny 30+ years later.
Sadly, I don't think future generations will be able to see this type of comedy.
this generation is doomed...comedy is fucked man..civilization is dead
..we are soooo backwards we cant go back
i love how he falls out of the window
Unless their elders purchased the 4 seasons on DVD for them to watch. We made our kids watch every episode at least once. They love it
I have cerebral palsy and this was absolutely hilarious! I agree with the comments on how people need to relax again and just laugh and have fun.

Look up Josh Blue (pretty sure that's his name). Dude is hilarious
Don't forget Jimmy Valmer, that character is awesome in southpark
😂🤣 Handiman and Blankman were so funny. Screw cancel culture. Bring this stuff back.
If this skit was out today everyone would say u makin fun of the handicapped
@@abdurobinson6827
And to hell with them!
Imagine a show trying to do this today lol
"Up up and awaaaaaaaaaay" was like a joke around my house growing up lmao
I am disabled and love this. So so so funny...thank you.😂😂😂😂

“NEVER ESTIMATE THE POWER OF HANDYMAN”!!!
I lost it when he head dived out of the window 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
I wasn’t that much into “In Living Color” back in the day, but I now deeply appreciate it.
The fact that his weakness is cripplenite is fucking hilarious.
Me cheeks hurt that was so very funny ..him.flying past the window ..the good old days ..love you guys you are the best thanku so much love and God bless always x
It all started with Angry Woman. 😂
I died when I saw the lamp and the television in the handicapped stall. It was a sight gag letting you know he had 'moved in' to stay. 🤣
I think you are right. Shows like this could never be produced today. A black, lesbian superhero called "Angrywoman" and "Handi-man"? Not a chance, sadly. Please do more of these!

Why did that guy have a TV in the stall? LOL - they SO could not do this on TV today
Handi-man got a sidekick later. The Tiny Avenger.
Classic.
Have a great day!
I've never seen much of In Living Color, but I was laughing so hard that my face and abs hurt, and I now have a headache from crying due to laughing so hard.
Don't forget, Chappelle's Show was on cable TV. So this was actually more risky for its time
Dwayne Wayans was one of the gems that came from that show. Carey was another
The way he salutes and winks lmao
Omg. I watched this as a kid & it helped me laugh thru a lot of pain. I agree times have changes but my personal history to get me where I am today, I am happy for.
LOL! Funny skit! 😂 They forgot about Daredevil and Charles Xavier being handicapped, though. LOL
No i think that black dude was sort of charles xavier but with out powers,But i do know know what you mean super hero way.
Blankman was originally supposed to be the Handiman movie but the film studio made them change the name because it was too insensitive. So the Wayans made the best of what they were allowed to do.
DW also did the “Head Detective” which was pretty funny.
OMG! I totally forgot about that! We would talk about this show in school after every Sunday show. I don't want to search for head detective, just in case the boys watch it here.
That is SO funny! Back when most people actually had a sense of humor instead of being perpetually offended.
You seem offended.
@@Baychimo how? He said it was funny. Just imagine all the snowflakes watching this nowadays lmao. The Wayans brothers even said in an interview that if In living color was ever revived this is one character they wouldn't be able to bring to TV anymore.
The black lesbian superhero won.

Seek help.
That clip was brilliant, we need more of this kind of thing today, people are too serious nowadays !
The guy had set up a little office in the bathroom stall complete with lamp, that was just a side joke that makes the over all skit even funnier.
I wish this was still on, what a hilarious damn show. This would be by far better than any of the garbage there showing now. What a talented group of people.
A TRUE CLASSIC! WHEN WE STOP LAFFING AT OURSELVES ... WE ARE SCREWED! CARRY ON BROTHERS!
"Laffing at ourselves" is spot on. Damon was able to do this skit without guilt because he was classified as handicapped. He was born with a clubfoot.
shows like this couldn't exist in the era of social media.
It may have been 'wrong', but it was hilarious!
Why the fuck did I watch this while I was eating ...I almost made myself handicapped from choking to death!!
Before Chappelle Show and ILC there was the original cast of SNL from 1975 - 1980. Check out "Word Association - Saturday Night Live" starring Chevy Chase and Richard Pryor, from an episode in 1975.
Damn we miss this ! When comedy was funny and politically free! HELP HANDI , we really do need your help. SAVE COMEDY! ♿❤
It's over. 9/11 ruined this country. The terrorists wanted to destroy the US, and we slowly let it happen.
brings back memories man 😉

In living color and the wayons family along with Carrey were and absolute greatness
In Canada we made Handi-man our Prime Minister.
I forgot all about HandiMan. “NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWERS OF THE HANDICAPPED”
Loved this show back in the day. Fly girls were awesome also.
I love that y’all are still giggling well after the clip.
This literally had me and my friends rolling around on the floor when we were kids
Those Wayans brothers are responsible for some of the greatest comedy.
You have to be willing to go there.
Damon was able to "go there" because he is handicapped. He was born with a clubfoot. Very early his career, you could see Damon walking with a limp.
Im fuckin pissin myself lmao 🤣 i used to watch that show religiously
Oh I forgot about handyman. I used to love in living color when I was young. I don’t think they would allow this on tv these days.I love how he barely falls out the window
This show was genius when it can out and seeing it again all these years later it has only gotten better with time.
I loved watching this stuff as a kid. Handiman was a favorite, along with firemarshall Bill
Having clean-honest fun of the underappreciated is a good way to spread social awareness of real problems.
Back when we could all have fun joking around without hearing everyones opinion and outrage on social media!!
But as you could see, there was already angry, black feminist women. They just didn't know about computers yet. Good times.
I think we should do the same as always and let the bitches cry on social media all they want.
Ikr
There's way worse stuff than this out there.
You do not hear outrage over jokes.
Hate speech is not funny.
It is NOT hard to tell the difference.
I think I woke up every one around me in my hotel room laughing with y’all. This is some funny shit.
I saw the title and already knew, some terrible laughs were coming lol
Man I miss those days...if sketch comedy shows had a GOAT lineup they're in there with Chappelle
Before he was Blank Man, Damon Wayans was Handi Man! Hahaha no way they could get away with that on SNL.
You can’t get away with that skit today but it was funny as hell!!
