I am a woman. Born a girl with female genitalia, a womb and XX chromosomes. Went through each milestone a little girl does, until I reached my teenage years and menstruation. I had a period and a hymen. I moved through my teenage milestones with the lessons, fumble and awkwardness that only a female could know.. what with a cycle each month and my breasts and wider hips forming. I reached adulthood and gave birth from between my legs, as only a woman can do. That is a woman. Someone born to it, who’s lived it all her life. I don’t like hearing males claim to be what I am. They’re not. They’ll never be.

I watched "What is a Woman?" recently. I saw a lot of depression, narcisim, loneliness... We need to stop the people in positions of power in the medical and media establishment from pushing this on vulnerable kids. This is a crime.

Absolute crime!! I totally agree. I do believe some are born different, but they need to fully develop biologically, before any procedures. I truly believe there are adult 'they thems' that want to create more of them by influencing kids who do not possess the wherewithal to make such a monumental decision at a young age.

I was a tomboy as a child and insecure in my femininity as a teenager. I doubted my ability to have a relationship and children. It was not a good or happy part of my life. But I got over these struggles, which pretty much every young woman goes throguh. I got married and recently had my first child, and when that happened, this tomboy turned into almost a stereotypical girly girl, feminine woman, momma bear, and is finnaly happy and at peace with her feminimity. If the gender ideologues got their claws into me when I was young, they would have told me that my unhappy unfeminine identity was the real me. They would have pushed transition on me and I would probably never become a mother. They would have taken the best thing I have in my life - my baby. Gender ideology trully is evil and motivated by sheer hatered of humanity.

Dog breeds are a social construct.
Studies have shown that cat behavior is not just instinct but a social structure. Wild cats that only interact with other cats have zero vocalization. I took in a wild cat and domesticated it and he never meowed. He made happy chirps but never a full meow. If raised primarily with dogs a cat will in fact develop dog behaviors including panting and barking. I've heard two conclusions from these studies. Cats don't know they are cats or cat see humans as just funny looking cats.
I heard of one cat that was raised by capybaras. The cat even attempts to eat the same food as the capybaras or he at least joins them and pretends to eat. Don't worry the zoo provides the cat with a proper diet. The point is the cat mimics capybara behavior.

I have a hard time believing that Jon Stewart even believes himself.

I’m still a liberal but gender is by far the dumbest issue that the liberal party focuses on. My liberal friends call me transphobic because I said I wouldn’t call a man a woman. I don’t know how we got here but it has stopped progress in every other problem we’re trying to push for and I hate it. We got to transgender issues due to the fact that they have an extremely high likelyhood of committing suicide. And the most successful way in preventing this is to give them gender affirming care.

I used to actually like Jon Stewart. It's kind of crazy as I get older realizing how terrible some of the people I liked actually are. When you're young you listen to them and it's like okay they get us, they actually care. Then you get older and realize they all just say whatever the majority of people want to here so they can stay relevant as long as possible.

The period was dominated by 9/11, the Afghanistan and the Iraq wars. And I believe Jon Stewart was on the correct side on those issues at a time when every conservative hack was cheering the war machine. Only now the conservatives want to appear like they have always been against getting involved in endless wars. because it is not their guy in the Whitehouse.

I used to watch him, but he was often operating at the level of playground mockery. The most interesting thing about his show was the interviews, but even then... I recall there was one occasion when he couldn't successfully rebut a particular guest. So he had someone on about a week later, just for the point of giving a political ally the last word. He looked like he'd been bullied into it and it was a betrayal of trust. Similarly, I don't know if he has authorship on his show. I'm sure he has a writers' room of diverse activists and if he does anything other than repeat their orthodoxies, he'll be crucified.

This actually killed one of my friendships with a trans friend. I was on their side with understanding trans rights etc... But one day She said that puberty blockers were completely safe for kids with 0 side effects. As a skeptical individual, I said/asked "That doesn't make much sense logically. Altering body development has 0 side effects? Can you show me proof or a study." She instantly got defensive and provided me with about 5 different articles. I read them all completely out loud in discord to the group and every one of them said that they do not know what the side effects long term are. And then to make things worse 1 of them said that there are short term side effects that are minor, AND that the main theme of every paper for reasons they prescribe the blocker is to prevent suicide. Then the worst part of the articles was none of the physicians had the same solid guide lines. Everything came with a "these are just recommendations for treatment" down to how young you should start a child on the blockers. Those age ranges varied with 1 going all the way to 8 years old. So they don't even have to follow the rules is what the articles say. She instantly left the call saying that I just don't want to believe the facts. I told her that she can re-read them and if she finds a conclusive study then I would be more inclined to accept her position, but you can guess that she obviously never got back to me or even talked to me again.
Anybody who demands "proof" and "studies" for completely mundane common sense is not asking for honest reasons. You don't need a study to prove 2+2 is 4.

I am Dutch and I have never seen this show of Jon Stewart but we have the exact same show in the Netherlands. It’s hosted by Arjen Lubach and he has the same energy, words and jokes as Jon. He is not that liberal, but you can see that it’s propaganda. It cant be a coincidence

It's better than being born post 2000 and following the herd because you don't know better. I'm with you, though. I lived almost 40 years of whatever normal is. To be honest, normal has been changing all of my life. Fortunately I'm grounded in reality, so instead of being easily influenced, I can always look at the truth, which has never changed in my 55 years.
I can't believe they've even captured Jon Stewart. Who used to be a voice for all of us in the days of his Daily Show on CC. He was always genuine and even battled both sides, now he's just all in.. someone has to be controlling all these high profile people.

But I educated myself and learned about all the detransitioners and the gender ideology being taught in grade school. I’m not sure JS is being controlled by someone else, but anything is possible. To prove my case, logically I need only one such case. So, how about Kiera Bell? She’s filed a lawsuit against a clinic in the United Kingdom for having prescribed to her puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones while she was under age. In addition, she underwent a double mastectomy. Now 23, she has transitioned back to female and, needless to say, deeply regrets the disfiguring changes to her body (Soh, 2020, p. 145).
In her mind, someone responsible should have been looking out for her best interests. I think she’s got a point here. A tattoo? Are you crazy, you’re still a child and those things are permanent! Wait until you’re 18, then decide. A double mastectomy and a soup of disfiguring chemicals? Of course, if you’re sure it’ll make you feel better.
Well, what about her parents? First, parents are routinely ‘informed’ that puberty blockers are like a temporary chemical “pause button” and the cross-sex hormones can be stopped at any time (Soh, 2020, p. 156). This, is a lie.
It’s not a pause button. Normal puberty stops.
Just as troubling, parents are also told that anything other than an affirming response from them will result in a serious risk of suicide. This, deliberately or not, is a distortion of the facts.

The debate is not about biology, it's about social norms. Gender and gender roles are social constructs: they are only culturally associated with biology. In Polynesian culture (particularly Samoan culture) there is a third gender called fa'afafine or "in the manner of a woman". Biologically male persons presents themselves as female, often taking on traditional female gender roles in the household. There is no attempt to classify or categorize sexually. This has been around for hundreds of years and is nothing new, and it is certainly not in a class of its own. Fragile male masculinity and western chauvinism are threatened, and so of course we have another culture war that only the drunk guys at the bar on Friday night care about because their measure of a man is who wins the weekly pissing contest.

The problem with Jon Stewart's argument is that he committed the fallacy of equivocation when interchanging gender, the word itself, a noun, describing the biological reality to which organisms are ordered to either be male or female, and another noun, i.e., expression, as modified by the adjective form of gender. In other words he treated "gender" and "gender expression" as meaning the same thing which is a dishonest framing because now he could interchange that adjective with other modified nouns, like gender roles or gender identity for example, without clarifying which one he is referring to, thus making it difficult to pin down which noun is being addressed. This is why something as concrete as gender (noun) can be treated as something more subjective because its adjective form can be used to modify more abstract terminologies, like expression, roles, and identity.

What do leftists say about the phenomenon of de-transitioners, people who after having their bodies permanently disfigured and realize it’s been a tragic mistake?
Oh, they lie and claim that it’s yet another debunked myth. They then militantly suppress individuals attempting to stop this horror.
There are thousands of detransitioners, living with damaged, disfigured, bodies and lives.
As to the prevailing ‘myth’ that trans people are so subjectively certain of their ‘lived experience’ that they don’t ever regret transitioning or ever transition back, this ‘myth’, rather like the ‘myth’ about acting White, is itself a myth.
To prove my case, logically I need only one such case. So, how about Kiera Bell? She’s filed a lawsuit against a clinic in the United Kingdom for having prescribed to her puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones while she was under age. In addition, she underwent a double mastectomy. Now 23, she has transitioned back to female and, needless to say, deeply regrets the disfiguring changes to her body (Soh, 2020, p. 145).
In her mind, someone responsible should have been looking out for her best interests. I think she’s got a point here. A tattoo? Are you crazy, you’re still a child and those things are permanent! Wait until you’re 18, then decide. A double mastectomy and a soup of disfiguring chemicals? Of course, if you’re sure it’ll make you feel better.
Well, what about her parents? First, parents are routinely ‘informed’ that puberty blockers are like a temporary chemical “pause button” and the cross-sex hormones can be stopped at any time (Soh, 2020, p. 156). This, is a lie.
It’s not a pause button. Normal puberty stops.
Just as troubling, parents are also told that anything other than an affirming response from them will result in a serious risk of suicide. This, deliberately or not, is a distortion of the facts.
Although gender-dysphoric adolescents are at an increased risk of suicide, their outcomes are the same as those with similar mental health issues that aren’t gender-dysphoric (Shrier, 2020, p. 117).
The suicide scare is largely based on a 2014 study that found 41 percent of adults identifying as trans had, at some point, attempted suicide. The study didn’t however factor in comorbidity with other mental health conditions nor did it establish whether their attempt was coincidental to their trans identity (Soh, 2020, p. 160).
Of more concern is study from the British Travisock Centre that found an INCREASE in self-harm and suicidal ideation in trans-gender children who have received puberty blockers for more than a year.
And what happens if you don’t medically intervene with permanently disfiguring chemicals and surgeries?
More than 80 percent of these confused children wake up one day and realize it was all a mistake…

I think Jon Stewart is brilliant and I think for the most part he makes great points on a lot of things, but gender is a touchy subject and I don't think Jon and many on the left will speak negatively about gender identities.

They would rather get a cut from those two entities than actually save or better the lives of every day Americans.
