Multiplayer Recommendation: Repeat this same concept but with a change, you can use as many power cores as you want and all the blocks, but you have to put 1 dynamite for 4 or 5 power cores.
Yzuei's whole '2.5 second delay for maximum firerate' idea is useful in some situations, but when you're against fast moving targets, it's definitely not the quickest way to achieve hits since there's such a wide gap, people slip through while you're waiting for the second one to fire off. Scrapman's method is definitely the most successful given it's a case of 'knock down the barrier and immediately hit what's behind it' lol.
*Build test idea:* Space mines. Just launch a bunch of dynamite with sensors on them all around you, so anyone following you will either be obliterated by mines or will have to maneuver away from the chase.
Problem being that these will infinitly keep going at the speed you released them at... so if you have a quantum rudder and release, they will stay with you until you turn away from them... I wonder if the speed sensor work? They work only in one direction based on airflow... but in space there isnt any???

your EMP technique is basically how tandem charge warheads work. the first shaped charge punches through the ERA and detonates it and the second punches through the armour
Few things I'd like to see/know/etc: - How useful are new space components in non-space maps? - Similarly, I would love to see a multiplayer non-space fight using some of these space blocks. - Can you add multiple shield layers and how useful might that be? Especially if the recharge time is fast enough to always have a shield up. - Does EMP shut down ALL shields or just the one it hits?
1st and 2nd Question is a good question!. 3rd Question answer: you might be able to add multiple shield layers but however though we all know Trailmakers MP "Gun spam is real with this one" which means people are just going to spam EMP's and Laser guns since the laser guns do the same damage as miniguns but have slower fire rate and same auto aim angle as smart cannons so really it's not worth double layering the shields and the shield takes a little bit to turn back on but here lies the problem when the shield turns back on it will be at low shield health and that goes with all your shields that get taken down and comes back on. Which means when they break your first shield they will start damaging your second shield and so on so when your other shield comes back on they will nearly instantly destroy that shield again and proceed to damage your other shield even more straight after because the shields take 10 seconds each to reach full HP. 4th Question Answer: The EMP will only take out one shield at a time but if your up against people who have multiple EMP weapons and have them set to stagger fire they can instantly knock out all of your Shield layers with each shot.
The reason that Scrapman's spaceship was so much more evasive than the other ones is a really interesting one. See, when making spaceships many people will end up trying to make a kind of space-plane. However, this has the disadvantage that when doing a turnaround by pitching, the entire "wingspan" of the spaceship ends up exposed to the opponent. A vertical design, however, presents the same thin profile throughout the maneuver. There are some disadvantages when yawing, but because yawing is used a lot less than pitching, at least in this video, the tradeoff is worth it.
Idea: A weapon that spins around its own axis. Then, detach an attached dynamite (etc) and try to hit a target while being in space. I think it would be interesting to see how quick sth can spin in no drag.
Idea for one of your build investigation vids: multilayer EMP protection via logic. Example - a switch to extend a piston toward a sensor, then AND (or OR) that signal with your normal key binds. Could something like this prevent shields being disabled or weapons firing (and going on cooldown) during and EMP. It's an arms race, baby!
Emp turns off/on ranfom components on a craft so it would bypass and/or gate work arounds. Basically anything that's turned on, can get turned off directly the same as if you turned it off/on in build mode.
The only thing that you can try to EMP-proof is steering. If you place any wheel (or aerodynamic control surface) on 4 steering hinges and only 2 of them get randomly activated, then you'd at least retain your ability to go straight. Same with 1 of 2 steering hinges spazzing out. But if your wheel is on 1 steering hinge, then you'll have a much larger chance of it becoming uncontrollable. Not to mention the case when the 2 hinges that spazz out turn in different directions.
I would love to see a battle using logic gates, where you have to divert power! So if you want more thrust, you can deactivate shields and Bose Versa, and to fire you hav to deactivate shields and etc. Just an idea but I hope you see this
another EMP-based idea: build your ships in such a way that they can reconfigure into different shapes, so that when an EMP hits you with your shields down you may need to reconfigure it into the correct shape to regain full control
Idea: you should try and break the sound barrier in one of the planets atmospheres and possibly see what happens when the sonic boom cone thing does when you exit the atmosphere

Space fight idea: your spaceship can only move around using the orbit of the asteroids in the asteroid belt Edit: so basically no thrust you can only move around using the asteroids
Multiplayer idea (Sorry for my goofy english) : 2v2 with 2 spaceships total. Each team uses one ship. One player is using gunner and defender seat, one player is driving the thing. And the gameplay rule is one team is catcher, one team is escaper. And the role switches until one of the teams ship gets destroyed or not able to catch the other team in speedwise. Rules: -There will be an alarm that lets players know that roles have been changed. And alarm rings every 30 seconds, or 1 minute. When alarm goes on, players will know that catcher team became escaper, escaper team became catcher. -Each spaceship will have 5 thrusters (for example) and one of them will not be able work while being in escape role. -Each spaceship will have 3 blasters (for example) and 1 emp. Gunman will not be able to use blasters while being in escape mode. Only EMP allowed for escapers. -Gunman will also have 2 shields, stacked side to side, which is controllable by hinges (Purpose of this is gunman will be trying to catch the bullets while escaping. Shooting EMP to slow catchers also. (Shields settings will be same with other teams spaceships shield settings. Like, im thinking about small shields to really trying to protect essential parts of ship.) -Driver players job is trying to shake off from their tail while escaping, (Because youll be slower because of not being able to use one thruster unlike other team. And catch the escapers, dodge EMP shots, while chasing. I feel like this gameplay will be so fun to watch, and play. Cheers from Turkey.

ScrapMan's _Function-First_ design powers through once again. Next multiplayer battle idea: *_Asteroid Prowler._* Basically, it's Hide & Seek / Monster Chase. The Seeker builds a big ship with a big mouth, while the Hiders build small ships that only has 1 or 2 thrusters. So, the Seeker has to maneuver itself between those asteroids, while the Hiders can take advantage of those asteroids against the Seeker's size. Of course, Seeker's HUD is off. The Hiders can move as well, but they need to link either a noise maker or some bright lights, so that whenever their thruster is being used, it also activates the bright lights or the noise (whichever one). That, *_or_* the Hiders instead _only_ have piston legs and Quantum Rudders, so they can hop from asteroid to asteroid trying to avoid the Seeker. But of course, since they don't have any other propulsion other than those piston legs, they'll have to be very careful not to get stuck out in the open. Actually, perhaps have one thruster that is only allowed if they're near an asteroid, so can still move about.
So my thought is making star wars speeders (the really skinny ones) and either battling on a low grav planet or racing in the race map. Use the hoverpad for lift and quantum rudder+gyro for control. Those rudders truly help out stabilizing hoverpad creations
Scrapman, you should check out From the Depths. It's a vehicle builder with quite the complexity mainly focused on naval and aerial vehicles. There's land based mode but never tried that one myself.
Two ideas: 1) create an incoming avoidance system for your builds and 2) create a rapid fire for the EMP guns only. Giving scrapman’s own experiments, this should be easy.🤪
I have two ideas: First is simply king of the hill with tanks on one of the less than 1g planets. I'm hoping for someone to make a wrong move and send themselves into the depths of space, or the impact of a cannon to send them flying too. You can't use down thrust to simulate gravity either. I'm not sure how to regulate weight yet, but I'm sure just giving a 30 power core limit should suffice. Second idea is a 2 v 2 blockade runner style match. Two defensive star fighters (30 power cores) blockading a planet while the other two have a offensive star fighter (30 power cores) and a corvette (50 - 60 power cores?). The corvette has to get to the planet, drop off it's cargo without it getting destroyed (preferably landing to deliver the cargo, but air drop would be interesting too) and get out while also maintaining some degree of structural integrity/flyability.
Multiplayer idea: same thing but without dynamite in the astroid field and you try and fling your enemy’s into an astroid by using an EMP you can add any other rules to it aswell.
I think an interesting idea (for any map, space map included) would be that each person has to independently make a front of a vehicle and a back of a vehicle, then each competitor has to assemble a mish-mash vehicle from the fronts and backs available, but can't have both of their parts be made by the same person. Then, each competitor competes in a demolition derby style race where you're trying to get the best time around a set course but destroying each other is allowed, slowing your opponents down by forcing them to make repairs.
Multiplayer idea; Flagship battle. Make your sapce-ships as big, armored, and armed as you can, and just duke it out in a massivle slugfest. Speed be damned! This is about endurance and raw damage potential. Maybe have a core filled with explosives for a very impressive *kaboom* when you get knocked out.
IDEA: Dualing Motherships would be amazing. Each mothership has two small rc spacships. Fight with rc's til you have to bring the mothership into battle.
Multiplayer Idea: Make planes that have no thrust in space and fight on the planets. You could fight on different planets for different difficulties, as you have to stay in the atmosphere or you go flying away.
Idea. So you all build your own vehicle. Then each round you use eachothers vehicle. Ex. Round 1, everyone uses ScrapMans vehicle, then Round 2, everyone uses Yuzis vehicle, Round 3, everyone uses whoever is playing vehicle. Maybe each vehicle gets 2 rounds?
You could repeat this, but with detachable blocks on major parts. Like build big ships to segregate where the EMP effects, but like if you get hit in a certain area then it might be a trailmaker, it may be some lights flickering, it could be a snowball launcher firing, or it could be half of your thrusters just fall off... Just make "complex" large builds with many options for EMPs to effect and have a bunch of the core components like thrusters, quantum rudders, and gyros connected to detachable blocks. A huge gamble of the EMP either making a rave or literally dismantling your craft.
Not often we see Scrapman just dominate a battle like this. Id love to see in the future some super cruiser type battle where there are multiple points that need to be hit in order to make the ship blow up.
Video idea: everyone spins a wheel to see what weapon and engine they get then all build and battle tanks using those items (doesn’t have to be tanks tho could be any vehicle in any environment)
Hello Scrapman, I would like to suggest a battle but instead of spaceships you could battle with rovers on any plane. (Maybe Doon is recommended) using Lasers, EMPs, and/or Shields. Maybe???
A tip for anyone who found out yet and plays with power core limits: if you put an energy shield on a rotating servo (or any moving block) the shield moves to. So if you do that you can have one shield cover both sides of your creation by setting it rotate 180° with the press of a button.
Please do a video about thrust vectoring, in the atmosphere, and in space to see the difference and if it does make your craft more maneuverable. Like irl craft, the F22 is known to have this and other air superiority fighters have.
Thrust Vectoring in Trailmakers has the same effect compared to real life as long as you do it right and give it the proper logic setup for full 3DTV (3 Direction Thrust Vectoring) in atmosphere but in space not sure how it works we will have to wait until the update drops.
Multiplayer idea: Make teams of 2 where 1 makes a space station and 1 makes the ship. You protect your space station and try to take out the others station. (If you need players, im open allways) Have fun!
Perhaps you could start a series within Trailmakers where you take old builds from the workshop that previously needed a million gymbals to be zero-G and convert them to work in space. i.e. remove gymbals, add gyros, etc It could be a multiplayer thing or like a workshop showcase thing. It may take some time to get the balance right but that might be part of the challenge. I want to experiment with offset thrust when the update goes live since the Gyros might be able to combat it...
Idea for a space brake: two quantum rudders that activate in the opposite direction of another. This should cancel out the rotatonal force and the higher drag through the activation. This could theoretically work, if I understood quantum rudders properly.
kosmo came up with a "quantum paddle wheel" propulsion in his new vid. I'd love to see you guys do a multi-player battle using only those for propulsion

This dlc opens up some interesting ground and sea gameplay too. Maybe a timer based activation of shields and weapons for races.

The corvette has to get to the planet, drop off it's cargo without it getting destroyed (preferably landing to deliver the cargo, but air drop would be interesting too) and get out while also maintaining some degree of structural integrity/flyability.
Multiplayer idea: same thing but without dynamite in the astroid field and you try and fling your enemy’s into an astroid by using an EMP you can add any other rules to it aswell.

I think an interesting idea (for any map, space map included) would be that each person has to independently make a front of a vehicle and a back of a vehicle, then each competitor has to assemble a mish-mash vehicle from the fronts and backs available, but can't have both of their parts be made by the same person.
Then, each competitor competes in a demolition derby style race where you're trying to get the best time around a set course but destroying each other is allowed, slowing your opponents down by forcing them to make repairs.

Make your sapce-ships as big, armored, and armed as you can, and just duke it out in a massivle slugfest.
Speed be damned! This is about endurance and raw damage potential. Maybe have a core filled with explosives for a very impressive *kaboom* when you get knocked out.
IDEA: Dualing Motherships would be amazing. Each mothership has two small rc spacships. Fight with rc's til you have to bring the mothership into battle.
Multiplayer Idea: Make planes that have no thrust in space and fight on the planets. You could fight on different planets for different difficulties, as you have to stay in the atmosphere or you go flying away.

Idea. So you all build your own vehicle. Then each round you use eachothers vehicle. Ex. Round 1, everyone uses ScrapMans vehicle, then Round 2, everyone uses Yuzis vehicle, Round 3, everyone uses whoever is playing vehicle. Maybe each vehicle gets 2 rounds?
Multiplayer idea: You guys should each make a multistage rocket and race to escape the atmosphere on dune
You could repeat this, but with detachable blocks on major parts. Like build big ships to segregate where the EMP effects, but like if you get hit in a certain area then it might be a trailmaker, it may be some lights flickering, it could be a snowball launcher firing, or it could be half of your thrusters just fall off... Just make "complex" large builds with many options for EMPs to effect and have a bunch of the core components like thrusters, quantum rudders, and gyros connected to detachable blocks. A huge gamble of the EMP either making a rave or literally dismantling your craft.
Not often we see Scrapman just dominate a battle like this.
Id love to see in the future some super cruiser type battle where there are multiple points that need to be hit in order to make the ship blow up.
Video idea: everyone spins a wheel to see what weapon and engine they get then all build and battle tanks using those items (doesn’t have to be tanks tho could be any vehicle in any environment)

Hello Scrapman, I would like to suggest a battle but instead of spaceships you could battle with rovers on any plane. (Maybe Doon is recommended) using Lasers, EMPs, and/or Shields. Maybe???
A tip for anyone who found out yet and plays with power core limits: if you put an energy shield on a rotating servo (or any moving block) the shield moves to. So if you do that you can have one shield cover both sides of your creation by setting it rotate 180° with the press of a button.
Please do a video about thrust vectoring, in the atmosphere, and in space to see the difference and if it does make your craft more maneuverable.
Like irl craft, the F22 is known to have this and other air superiority fighters have.
Thrust Vectoring in Trailmakers has the same effect compared to real life as long as you do it right and give it the proper logic setup for full 3DTV (3 Direction Thrust Vectoring) in atmosphere but in space not sure how it works we will have to wait until the update drops.

New battle idea. Your same parameters for building a ship, just no quantum rudders. All speed, no maneuverability
Multiplayer idea: Make teams of 2 where 1 makes a space station and 1 makes the ship. You protect your space station and try to take out the others station. (If you need players, im open allways) Have fun!
Space Race: Fly into the atmosphere of each planet as fast as you can. Bonus: use archways, rock formations, etc. as checkpoints.
Perhaps you could start a series within Trailmakers where you take old builds from the workshop that previously needed a million gymbals to be zero-G and convert them to work in space.
i.e. remove gymbals, add gyros, etc
It could be a multiplayer thing or like a workshop showcase thing. It may take some time to get the balance right but that might be part of the challenge.
I want to experiment with offset thrust when the update goes live since the Gyros might be able to combat it...
MP Idea: You all build spaceships for each other and try and "secretly" make the worst, but still flyable craft you can. >:D

Idea for a space brake: two quantum rudders that activate in the opposite direction of another. This should cancel out the rotatonal force and the higher drag through the activation. This could theoretically work, if I understood quantum rudders properly.
Asymmetrical ship combat, if done right with a empty space in the middle then hitting each other will be significantly more difficult
