this elitist nonsense. If it doesnt wildly break the image, theres nothing wrong with upscaling or smoothing out emulator graphics. It's optional based on personal preference, and not something worthy of "crippling shame". If I want a 240p crusty picture, ill go find a real tv and hook up my actual seger genesis. You may feel differently, and that's fine too.
@@AvoidingthePuddle the scanlines are pretty much always gonna look odd at 720p without an integer scaled window. thats why you can see the funky patterning (out of place looking horizontal line every inch or so), especially on solid colors like the sky, etc. I prefer scanlines for personal use, but for stream quality at 720p, best to just use standard pixel scaling with interpolation: like a gaussian blur, etc. This will result in a decent looking image no matter how the viewer has their youtube window scaled, or what resolution they are watching the video in. Same goes for twitch.
@@WalrusFPGA sounds like it's just visual artifacts for the audience/stream but the scanlines themselves would look fine on Aris' side then, which is probably more important
@@n0pants Either way I love seeing him playing all these SNES games =) I take video quality into high consideration because i make videos mainly for consoles of this generation. (check my channel if you want to see how a zero-lag FPGA simulation device handles these games) We could set one up for Aris (A MiSTer FPGA box), as its honestly the best way to play and record these classic games while retaining the feel of the original console (no added lag, etc). Aris seems to appreciate this based on his feedback on the feel of F-zero in a recent video. Having all games zero lag, including capcom arcade games, etc, has really been a game changer. Easier than using a bunch of different emulators also, and setting things up for each one of them. Sorry for the diary entry, lol. Thanks for the entertainment =)

I told aris to enable because of some reddit guide's suggestion, I think it's "good enough" for archival but I'm open to ideas
