I used to live on Rt. 8 in Deposit. We liked to watch the parade of motorhomes, vans and trailers going by on Unadilla weekend.

I grew up in Albany and we would drive down on Saturday morning, watch practice and camp out in cars and tents Saturday night. To me going to Unadilla was like going to the World Series and Superbowl all at once. This was late 70’s early 80s. That Saturday night was surreal since you had a bunch of hyped up motocross guys without much to do. There was no cell phones and no internet. Anything made out of wood got torched. It was crazy and fun but now looking back I can see how the destruction was pretty stupid.

Pretty awesome to think how many national and World motocross champions have been on that very road!
I think about that often. I use to watch anything that had to do with Motorcycles on cable TV back in the day, and would hear many of the old motocross legends talk about how much they loved the track at Unadilla.
