@pickledtoast2263 Just built him with what I had laying around and what I have pulled from Bloomburrow so far. Fun to play, but coming up with win con(s) for him has been a challenge.
I can guarantee that the only decks that would benefit from this are green ramp decks. A board clear is never a solution it just swaps the most threatening player from the one with most creatures to the one with most mana. And if you wanted one-sided board clears, then you can just as easily get overpowered if the archenemy has his own.
@@TheEditingMage non-green decks can ramp too. I mean, that's basically what Zinnia did here. I think the Zinnia deck would have still been the most threatening deck even if it got board wiped here, but it would have given time to the other decks to catch up and focus down on them. In my opinion
While that is all good in theory, in practice, 2 players won't be able to come back due to also losing their board, and it just end up being the same 1v1 it was before. These decks are not built to simply rebuild once everything is gone. Also, with having no board to speak of, you can't even pressure Tom since he will be the first to rebuild.
@@TheEditingMage at this point it wasn't a 1v1, it was a blowout. Better to have a chance of getting lucky and catching up. Also, the main reason they can't rebuild is because you built the decks without that capability in mind, knowing that there were no boardwipes. You can build that capability in, and at most other tables, where there are board wipes, that's a necessary part of the deck and play pattern. In most groups, you can't commit absolutely everything to the board, you need to have some way of rebuilding after a boardwipe (unless you're a hyper-aggro deck, which isn't too common)
I will only say this once and I quote: "Any player with a normal boardclear in their deck has built it poorly. If the only way you can catch up to another player is going back to square one then you are better off going to a different deck." As such I build my decks with this standard in mind, not the "so called" standards set by the rest of the community. One of the reasons I made this channel was to show people how enjoyable games can be without the "make belief" staples of today.

i agree , if no one has any interaction . this game was like 5 or 6 turns so i think it falls under high power
First turn sol ring into signet will pretty much make you win or lose instantly and more often than not you'll win
Please remember to pop up things like the cards put into play with Kastral's ability
